  1. 1. Numbness is normal. It should get better and better as time goes on but I don't beleive there is really a specific time frame for you to get feeling back. Be patient. 2. The "pimple-like" yellow crust you are getting are normal too. In fact, in my first procedure in which I received many multi-hair grafts I remember experiencing much more than in my prior procedure. It is advised to place a warm wet cloth on the affected area for a few minutes every so often. I would avoid trying to "pop" them if you can. Lastly, you should be aware of both of these things already if you went to a reputable doctor. The fact you cant get in touch with her is yet another sign that you are using the wrong doctor
  2. I second that Leeson. Stay away from that Doctor. You will regret it in the end. The only reason you are told to dye your hair is so that the "plugginess" of your procedure will be diminished. It takes 12 months to see the full results of a transplant. Why would you jump into another with this doctor until you see the full results of the first. Also, she is using extremely outdated techniques that are likely not going to give you a very natural result. Stay stay stay away from her. She is not acting in your best interest. I dont care if she "is the best in this part of Europe". Go to a part of Europe or the US where they are using the proper up-to-date procedures. None of us want to see you back here in 8 months talking about how you are unhappy with your 2nd transplant and wish you would have listened. If you go ahead with this Doctor I can almost gaurantee you this will be the case. DO RESEARCH. FIND A REPUTABLE DOCTOR
  3. I want to feel bad about my last post but I mean the fact that you posted pics that were obviously intended to decieve the community (DERMATCH) really ticks me off. You are obviously a dishonest person whose intent is to mislead the members of this community. And last but not least...you are trying to argue that a freakin protein shake caused you to have stellar growth.
  4. He made it for you!?!? So your telling me that he is not only a great surgeon, but also a songwriter AND A CHEF!!! We are talking about the consummate renaissance man here
  5. Hate to be constantly speaking out against L. Shapiro but we have YET to see one patient who has before and after pictures that dont look like they were taken with a disposable camera...or worse. And I would be willing to bet the house that you are wearing concealer in the after picture. I like how the flash bounces off your Dermatch in the middle
  6. Ahh, so it was the infamous "lastchance" at the clinic today. Your results looked great as well. It will be fun to track our progress together. Best of luck!
  7. Well I guess my donor was a bit thicker than I expected! I went in today expecting to get between 800 and 1000 grafts placed into my hairline but ended up getting a good bit more. All graft were disected by 5 different tech into 1's and only 1's which were placed throughout my hairline. I actually wasn't expecting Dr. Feller to go back as far as he did but I know it will be worth it in the long run. I was hoping to be able to cover the recipient area with my existing hair but I'm pretty sure that isn't happening anytime soon. Guess I will have to beef up my hat collection. The procedure went very smoothly and took around 4 1/2 hours. The staff was extremely pleasant and professional. They made me feel very comfortable throughout the procedure. I was especially impressed with the two techs who inserted the grafts (they even let use a mirror to watch as they worked!). They will forever be known as "The Dream Team". I also had around 6 "mega grafts" removed from the hairline. They were even able to recycle these grafts and place them into the recipient. As you will see my hairline is a bit irregular but that was the case before the procedure as well. It really doesn't bother me at all. All I am hoping for is a nice, natural hairline that I feel comfortable exposing. I wish I was in the movie "Click" and could fast forward a few months Pics are updated in the weblog. They aren't super and I will try to get Dr. Feller to post more as well. Any feedback would be much appreciated! ***One last note. Dr. Feller performed a PRP on me 2 weeks ago and was impressed with the results thus far. He has before and after pics I beleive will be posting them soon. ****One more last note. I realize my hairloss may not be horrible but as most of us know its not an easy thing to deal with. I feel blessed to have found this site and realize that I'm not alone in this struggle. I want to thank everyone for the support you have given and the information you have shared that lead us all into making better decisions. Ok I'll shut up now...
  8. Wow, as much as I want this back and forth battle to stop...I must say that was one of the funnier posts I have ever read. Phil_Harmonic - I couldn't even have told you what they used to dissect the grafts. I just sat in my chair and enjoyed the drugs. They dissected the grafts elsewhere. I had no idea about hair transplants. I just did what the Doctor told me to do. I mean he passed medical school and already performed over 10,000 procedures (this was in 2004) so I should trust him right? Well anyways I wish I had an answer for you but I don't.
  9. *sole_man* consider yourself a very *lucky_man* that you found this site before you jumped into anything! I wish I would have been as blessed (and smart!) There is tons to research on this site. I would start by going through the list of Coalition doctors on the main page and checking out some their different results. I had a couple poor procedures before finding this site but after doing a year of research I narrowed it down to Dr. Feller (NY) and Hasson & Wong (Vancouver). I am actually in the airport right now on my way up to NY to have my procedure with Feller tomorrow morning. Unfortunately my flight is delayed so I am stuck in the airport and not even able to have a drink! (it is advised to abstain from alcohol for the 10 days preceding you procedure ) You are in good hands my friend
  10. Ok to take the night before the procedure?
  11. Ok to take the night before the procedure?
  12. P.S. I like my new nickname... Bill is there anyway I can change my name to "TRIPLE D03"?
  13. I'd love to make this more conversational and less of a argument I am happy to answer your questions Gainesville. As I said I am heading to get my MBA there soon. (So were both on the same team!!!). As I said I had the procedure done when I was 21 and pretty much had a full head of hair. I had 3's and 4's (and IMO larger) placed throughout my native hair. It wasn't until a few years later that my native hair fell out and I realized what the damage was. I did zero research before my procedure. Anyways, after weighing some options, IN MY OPINION I felt as though there were better doctors out there (I realize we do not share this opinion and there is nothing wrong with that). I chose to trust my donor with another doctor. While in the end I am still not satisfied, if I had to do it over again I would not have gone to Shapiro. Please don't take offense to this. I am going to see Feller tomorrow...do you think this is in anyway an insult to all the H&W patients? I hope you understant the point I am trying to make. As I reiterated, I don't beleive it was ethical for Dr. Shapiro to operate on me at such a young age in my attempt to "stay ahead of my hairloss". I put the blame on myself as well. FYI, all doctors make you sign waivers before a transplant stating that you basically realize that there is no gaurantee for anything (you may even come out worse!). I am not trying to argue with you...I am just putting the information out there. "None of you will change my choosing of the doctor that will work on my husband " -shouldn't he be choosing the Dr?
  14. JWSFL - I apologize if you felt as though you are being "bashed". It is my natural reaction to throw up my gaurd when a new poster comes on and starts praising a doctor. I am obviously not the only one who had this reaction...but I am one of very few on this site who has had a procedure by L. Shapiro so I figured it was my duty to speak out. As Bill said, If you look at my posting history you are not the first person I have cast doubt upon. The last one dissapeared and was proved to be a phony. http://hair-restoration-info.c...=895101361#895101361 Please don't take it personal. I have said it before...If you had a great experience with Larry Shapiro then I am very happy for you. Let's drop the argument. It is not going to go anywhere. The only way a Doctor gains credibility on this site is through hundreds of posts and pictures regarding his work.
  15. Gnsville07 (which is where I will be getting my MBA in less than a month wooo!). I didn't just come out of nowhere and make these comments. Please use the "find" tool and search DDD03. You will find that I didn't have the greatest things to say about Larry about 4 months ago either I sometimes get a bit heated when I post about him and maybe take things a bit to far (as you will see in my post 4 months ago called "bad decision"). It hits really deep to my heart when I think about how he took advantage of me. I hope you understand. And I am sorry...I just really didn't like the guy nor the work he performed on me. I really was young and naive and he threw a great sales pitch. I understand that we are all entitled to our opinions and I'm glad the people you know had great experiences with him. You can take this constructive criticism as you may...but I would ease off on the accusations you are making as well. You are new to this site unlike the members you are calling "doctors". I wish you and your loved ones the best.
  16. OOOPS- I meant to say Pro-Shapiro. Sorry I am just that excited for my Feller Procedure in 2!!!!!!!!! Days
  17. Also, please humor me and search DDD03 (yes there is a "search" tool since you are new to this forum). Unfortunately the pics you will find are post-Epstein. However. You will see that MONTHS ago I made a post called "Bad Decision". And guess what!?!? It has pics too!!!! Is this not proof enough that I didn't just jump on here once I saw pro-Feller comments???
  18. I understand you thinking I am a phony just as much as I think you should understand my reservations. Sorry, it was a bit shocking when I discovered those pictures on his website. I'll be honest with you. I do not have my Pre-Ops or Post-Ops with Shapiro. And unfortunately it was before the invention of Facebook so I can't dig up any old pics. I have no interest in contacting Shapiro or Epstein for pics. Can't imagine Shapiro would even talk to me anymore ha. Probably won't do you any good but if you want to PM me I'd be happy to give you my name and you can contact the doctors themselves I truly have no personal gain by sharing my experience with Shapiro. I just want to make sure the members of this forum are equipted with as much information possible to make the right decision in choosing a doctor. Because of this forum I was able to find a great doctor that will hopefully give me some of my confidence back. Transparency is what this forum is built on. JWSFL, I hope your next procedure goes just as smoothly as the others.
  19. It's up to the community to decide the reputability of this Doctor. For now I don't think anyone has seen enough to say he is "wonderful reputable and honest". It IS possible that he has cleaned up his act over the years. In my eyes it will always be a bit odd that out of the 8 people Shapiro decides to showcase on his website, 2 of them decide to come out of the woods and start posting comments (in the same week?). I'm not saying that it isn't possible both of you are being honest...it just kind of throws up a red flag. After the experience I went through with Shapiro it is hard for me to trust anything associated with his name. I hope you understand but am willing to accept it if you don't. Trust me I am extremely happy for ANYONE who has had a great experience with ANY DOCTOR. Even if it is Shapiro.
  20. I inquired with Dr. Feller about switching to Avodart. I read a lot of positives on the web about it so I figured I'd ask. Aparently with Avodart you take the chance of being non-responisive and actually going through irreversible shedding. I am under the impression that this is why it did not pass FDA approval as a hair loss drug. I don't want to risk it so I am going to stick with the fin.
  21. Whhhhhhoaaaa. I hadn't visited this guys website in a long long long time. SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. Dr. LARRY Shapiro (sorry I have to emphasize the LARRY part to make sure there is no confusion) has performed over 11,000 hair transplant cases. Out of these 11,000 cases there are just 8 Before & After cases presented on his website (a mere 0.00072%). And out of these 8 cases posted on his website it turns out that 2 of them have posted their experiences on HTN in the last week???????????? Come on. I am done being diplomatic. This is a bunch of BS... Not to mention that they are the same exact 4 pics he posted on his website. Go waste your time elsewhere guys. Maybe you can work on Larry's next Jingle for his website. The two of you can do a little duet together. Or if you want maybe the three of us can all meet up at Starbucks and I'll bring my guitar...
  22. Sorry, didn't mean for it to be a "blanket" statement. I was under the impression that the yield from Strip "on average" was better than the yield for FUE. Obviously every case was different. Maybe I am completely wrong. Anyone else want to chime in?
  23. Hmnn, interesting. moses- Isn't the survival rate overwhelmingly better with Strip than FUE? How are you "losing" the hairs? My only worry would be that the scar could result a bit wider due to increased tension. If you have decent laxity though this shouldn't occur. Would there be any difference in doing the strip now...and possibly using the FUE method as a back-up in the future?
