  1. I'm under the impression it happens frequently, but it depends on donor availability, and hair and skin characteristics. Hasson did my transplant 12 days ago, and it was 80-85 units per cm2.
  2. Have you even tried it? The vast majority does not experience side effects. I would never have a transplant if I could not use a DHT blocker. That's like setting yourself up for a bad result, because your hairloss would continue, and you would need to chase it with additional transplants with fewer and fewer grafts available untill you have depleted your donor.
  3. Just nerve endings, it's normal. I'm 9 days post op, and still a bit itchy, tender and a little sore a few places. Nothing to worry about!
  4. I'll be honest with you: if this is a concern of yours, you are not ready for a hair transplant. Obviously you need to do much more research. This is a marketing scam. No elite clinics use sapphire blades, you only find that in Turkish hair mills. Elite clinics cut their own blades from stainless steel to make recipient size match your graft size. As an example, check out a video of Dr. Wong making custom incision blades on their Instagram account (search for "Hasson and Wong" on Instagram).
  5. I'm not on TRT, so no expert on this. But if you increase your testosterone levels you accelerate hairloss regardless of blocking DHT, simply because testosterone also causes hairloss (albeit to a lower extent than DHT). All androgens do, for the most part.
  6. ...and completely normal! They form due to the staples penetrating the skin, would be the same if the used filament as well. It will soon heal and fade and disappear. Trichophytic closure will make it so that hairs grow through those marks.
  7. I'm debating it with myself - but I very much value my anonymity. Considering doing a detailed write-up of the day of op, so people can get a thorough understanding of how it goes down at H&W. Wanted to ask you a quick question: did your grafts grow in the days after your procedure before shedding started? I'm 6 days post op now, minimal scabbing, but the hair in the grafts have not 'grown' in length if you know what I mean. I've noticed in other cases posted here they seem to grow a bit before they shed, but mine are just sitting there.
  8. He provides hypotheses based on no evidence at all. You need to be critical. This guy is on a podcast to generate views/listeners. It is obvious he doesn't know basic statistics. He might be a doctor, but he's not a researcher, I can tell you that.
  9. You are free to believe what you want. If you understand how Finasteride (and Dutasteride) works, then you also understand why permanent and irreversible side effects of finasteride is total BS.
  10. There is a difference between the illusion of density in photos, and achieving actual density. How it looks in photos is one thing. Another thing is how it looks in all sorts of situations, as well as how it feels. Those examples with 1500 grafts for the hairline and corners will absolutely not yield a result that feels adequate when you run your hands through the hair. In the second example in the photos posted, you can see the first 5mm is packed tight, then there is much less density behind it. When you slick back the hair it looks really good, but I doubt it will be good across all hairstyles, in all occasions etc. More grafts are better, all things equal. It is not like some surgeons have a magical wand and can yield much better results with fewer grafts - what they can achieve is a better illusion, albeit still an illusion. Except the crown case, all cases presented in the images are slicked back.
  11. Macro irregularities for a more natural look once it grows in. Singles hairs, so it won't look as defined when it all grows out. It looks much more defined now because the skin is red and the grafts are fresh in the skin.
  12. I like what I see! In hindsight, the temple touch up was a nice idea, I agree. Looking good, I must say! Exciting to follow your case! I'm just 2 days post-op from Hasson myself
  13. Your current E2 level is fine. I highly doubt fin made it worse if you are on that level. Unless, of course, you are ultra sensitive to E2 for gland growth. Did you gain weight? Are you overweight / obese? It might not be true gyno, only stubborn chest fat. Gyno is a hard gland, not fat. I would talk with an endocrinologist before you make the switch, to rule out any other issues.
  14. Hey man, a few comments from me: If you are on Fin without sides, likely you will also be fine on Dut. But there is a higher chance of sides, because Dut lowers DHT even more Did you have pubertal gyno, or did you experience gyno as an adult? If you do not have significantly increased estradiol on Fin, you will likely also be fine on Dut. However, please note that if you are borderlining high estradiol (E2) when Dut can push you over and you can develop gyno again. Best way is to check your blood work with a sensitive E2 test - if you are in the US this is possible. If you can get the sensitive test (not the regular one) that's the way to go.
  15. I would never suggest anyone starting fin/dut before at least 20 years of age. You need DHT to finish developing your body. You aren't done developing at 17 years old.
  16. Real nice work! And the donor looks impeccable just 8 days later... I'm heading to H&W in 5 days, so really excited to see this result!
  17. This is looking really good! As the swelling has subsided, I think the temple angles looks very good. A mature hairline/corners/temple look that will suit you just as well now as in 20 years from now. A handsome man.
  18. I would recommend going abroad, yes. For me it was always either Hasson or Konior (Vancouver, Chicago, respectively). I'm going in with Hasson end of this month, really looking forward to it - about 1800 grafts or so in the corners. I'm hoping for a one-pass, but am prepared to go back next year for a second pass for more density should it be needed.
  19. You need more density and more irregularities. Personally, I would not have been satisfied by this results. As mentioned before in this thread, visit and consult with a top elite clinic. If it feels right, forget about the cost (if you can afford) and go with them. If you agree on a touch up with your current clinic, and end up not being happy, you will always regret not just going with the elite clinic, potentially having "wasted" good grafts. Don't skimp on cost when you have to live the rest of your life with the result.
  20. Looking good, very clean work I must say. Looks like hairline lowered 1.5cm and temple peaks came forward almost 1 cm? Spot on for what many of us drew on top of your images from the first procedure. Very much looking forward to following this one, thank you for sharing
  21. @Kent will we see a 9 month update soon?
