  1. I personally think that, that is an excellent number of grafts for that size of area. Even with a survival rate greater than 90% + at 5200-5300 grafts for that area, especially with the hair already in your forelock this is going to look good. Following.
  2. I’m curious if anyone on these forums has been on oral minoxidil for over a year and what their results are? Anyone??
  3. Def following. Very unique recipient zones! Looking forward to seeing to excellent growth from your journey.
  4. Do you have any other information about the procedure? What country, what doctor? Experience in regard to why close to 3000 grafts only took 4-5 hours? Otherwise close up pics looks like clean work, good hairline design. Perhaps a bit more info🤷‍♂️
  5. Seems like you’re moving right along. I’ve been following your story given your hair color and goals. You’ve got 7 plus months left to see the fruits of your efforts. I’m looking forward to seeing your results! Been following you since July.
  6. Probably some injections 🤷‍♂️ but yea it looks amazing clearly. Won the hair lottery obviously
  7. Clearly this patient has also had some work done on the forehead. But I second this thought. If it’s the same person with only 3500 implants and one procedure then holy s!$t!
  8. Yes my first time. Started October 14th and now here we are at Christmas. I suppose ultimately the 5AR Avodart treatment and duration and possible degradation in effectiveness is what concerns me. Truth be told after going through a divorce I decided to try TRT. I believe it escalated what I may have been slowing down or inhibiting when it comes to hair loss. But, I just don’t know. I stopped it, even though the benefits to the body and libido were quite amazing but were probably too over powering for Avodart. The first year on TRT was rather amazing, but slowly it seemed hair loss returned on some level. However, aging and hair loss is rather insidious and difficult to gauge unless it’s aggressive. Regardless, I stopped due to perceived loss even though the benefit to the body and libido were amazing. My body and libido literally returned to that of early 20s, but was coupled with visual negative psychological reinforcement of what I perceived to be a receding hairline. That’s my opinion anyway. When I went to a few doctors most said get out of here consider yourself lucky. Dr Konior, who seems to have a rather detailed eye for things, and has a very pleasant persona and matter of fact approach to things…stated what I previous mentioned at the start of my thread. So, I started oral minoxidil within almost a month of my consultation with Dr K. I asked his advice and he stated that oral minoxidil is something that he believes will offer a much better opportunity for positive results in treating hairloss. I’m assuming especially if it’s taken with a 5AR like Avodart given everything I’ve read about Avodart, as he described that as a “holy grail” given current medical science, in treating hairloss. So yes, it’s my first time using minoxidil with any consistency. The only solace I take at the moment is being able to style and then dry my hair to something I find intermittently tolerable. I hate hair loss as we all do so I tell myself I’m almost 50, I look appropriate, I look for self acceptance, I strive for heightened empathy and understanding of those, I look for recognizing the importance of moments in real time and not after the fact…I look to live my life in the moment and in the future with the understanding that most people are as empathetic in interpersonal moments and relationships as I try to be in hopes the world gives back to me what I try to put out. But, I find that these philosophies are age related or more realistically related to one’s upbringing. Funny enough though, as I type this, looking back in my comments, if anyone even cared to ask…. I think they might require more explanation to about 60% of the people that read this, but not people suffering from a change in self perception or self acceptance.
  9. That hairline looks damn natural! Impressive. Very.
  10. Living Proof 5 in 1 into dry hair. Adds moisture, comb to style hold it with light sprays of John Masters organic. Set then blow dry with very low or no heat.
  11. Everyone can see scalp when hair is wet. If you decide to get serious then Dutasteride is the holy grail to maintain so it seems. Your genetics with a 5AR looks to me that maintaining will be easy through your prime years and moving into and past mid life. Don’t sweat it. Solid hairline. Solid crown.
  12. You’ve got your hair parted slightly or falling opposite directions and a bright light shining directly into the part and a camera close up. Hair standing straight up even before the weight pulls it down. That’s what it looks like to me. I bet if you started to fold the hair to the left or right and move the light you could get all sorts of worrying images to make you second guess….even on a guy or women that has no hair loss issues. Caliber of the hair on the part looks the same as implanted hair taken from a safe zone.
  13. I think this looks quite good for 5 months even. From what I’ve seen on here there will be some definite thickening over the next 7 months approaching the year mark! Happy growing!
  14. I did. I keep telling myself I’m 50 be happy, well almost 50, but whose counting 😂. I’ve looked at your case and your hair with your beard looks great. I would love to have that beard btw! It completes your look and aesthetics. Thank you for the read through also and your observation.
  15. Seems like? 😂 Well now that you’ve put it like that… Of course it is. This entire forum is one of insecurity. Sadly but thankfully so it is one of the few places one can anonymously turn to. I wouldn’t be here if I had a perfect head of hair. But, honestly thank you. Insecurity it is most definitely. If I’m lucky I can figure out it’s not primarily based on hair loss, but that might be another forum even though the experience on these forums is far reaching. Indeed I’ve come to appreciate all responses and observations here.
  16. I’ve got to say the time and caring people in this network put into replying and reading and replying, it’s amazing. Not common. Is it the topic, probably somewhat, but more so a testament to the people here that care. Mike thank you for your comments and perspective. You highlighted one of my more important thoughts. Noticing some thinning around the corners above my temples in my mid 20s as I lost my teenage hair line, I dabbled in hairloss drugs. Was never really consistent. Even in my mid 30s I seemingly wasn’t consistent. I became more consistent in my later 30s moving into my 40s. Sometimes, I wonder did I jump the gun here. Was being on drugs really needed? Was I destined to look like my father which none of my brothers do? Was I destined to look like my mothers side where with slight recession most men retained their hair? The ultimate question being, is dutasteride that effective? Or it is possible that genetically in combination with dutasteride I’m where I’m at. I’ve long looked for dutasteride results where someone has managed to maintain on some sort of aesthetically pleasing level their hair, and haven’t really found really any. Long term I suppose. Mostly I’ve found guys that have been on it and maintained to some degree but what I’ve seen is really just ok results. I certainly don’t think I’m some sort of medical anomaly either. Therefore, it has lead me to think that maybe it’s just a combination of meds and genetics. So, my question is how good are these hairloss drugs with so many guys yielding mediocre results or maintaining some semblance of what they’ve had. Don’t get me wrong I do have a thinning hairline I feel, I just don’t know if it’s genetics or drugs. Sadly. That being said your statements are well thought out and I thank you for your feedback.
  17. I do value your comments. Clearly they are insightful and relative to a previous experience you’ve had. Can I ask what your experience was? I understand the no pictures thing. What happened with you? Was it similar to my situation?
  18. Thank you for responding. First I’d say yes I’ve maintained to some degree you’re correct. I’m in question if it’s just genetics or if dutasteride really works that well?🤷‍♂️ Second Dr K is easily double 10k +. Surprisingly but not surprisingly so. To be honest if I got back maybe 500 hairs each side of my hairline vs grafts which is always more hairs depending on the grafts it would do wonders for my hairline I think. But like fiesta said future loss could be a concern. I’ve posted some pictures of my hair density parted dry with a leave in conditioner in it. Pretty much it’s how I condition and style my hair now. It offers ease of conditioning and with a hair dryer adds control and some relative strength or pliability if you will to my hair. Otherwise my hair is rather curly, slightly coarse even. Genetics or Avodart? I just don’t know. Leading to the question, if there is thinning behind a transplant how long do I have? It looks dense… ish… I guess. One thing I’ve noticed is the longer the hair the easier it is to part, obviously, and the less dense it looks…so to speak. Which is why I suppose thinner hair looks better shorter🤷‍♂️🤦‍♂️ Id like to state to, a bit off topic for anyone that cares I’m about two months on oral minoxidil 2.5mg EOD moving into 5 times a week, slowly moving into every day. I’ve noticed some reddening/darkening of my hair in places and slightly longer eyelashes. I’ve noticed some increased shedding as well, hoping of course I have enough hair that it doesn’t become too noticeable if at all. I take this as a sign it’s starting to work to some degree in conjunction with Avodart .5mg. I’m curious if anyone makes it this far in my thread😔 what anyone’s experience may be.
  19. I appreciate all feed back and your logic is sound. Further loss would be an issue that would need to be addressed. Obviously your stating the number one reason why people don’t follow through with appointments I’m assuming or if not the top reason at least in the top 3. Do you have a picture of your experience? I’m very curious… what didn’t you like about your experience?
