2500 Graft FUE - Dr Ozlem Bicer - June 19th 2023
DomTransplant replied to DomTransplant's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
*Month 6 Updates* A few more pictures, has thickened up a bit. Still noticing a lot of new growth, particularly on close up photos so excited for the next few months. Had a haircut to celebrate the 6 month mark, also so the donor area could be analysed properly to look at the shock loss. Had it taken to a 0.5 at the back, which I wouldn't normally do but was curious to see extent of it, not 100% there but good enough. Broadly, pretty pleased with where things are for 6 months and think for a half way point it's doing well. Would be curious to get some more opinions. Any questions about my experience with Dr Bicer feel free to ask too. *Flash On Pictures Month 6 Left & Right Temple* *No Flash Normal View* *Shock Loss 6 Months* -
4000 Grafts with Dr Ozlem Bicer Feb 2023

Great stuff to see man! It does look as if those temples have thickened up a bit too over the past couple of months, very noticeable to me! Crazy really to think where you came from to 9 months later, and you'll still see some thickening up in areas. I think the feedback from coworkers/friends etc is so important, hard to notice the progress, pictures help but nothing quite like a compliment from someone else in your life. Happy growing and keep us updated! -

Dr. Bicer Jan 2023 3800 Grafts Crown + Temples
DomTransplant replied to JDilla's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
Just caught wind of this post - good job on the consistency. Crowns are just slow, I still think looking month to month, even from 7 through to 9 there are visible improvements in your crown. Keep posting and lets see where the crowns at in a few months. I've seen countless results where the crown thickens up post 12 months in the crown. Awesome result so far, temples look unreal 😮 -
Thoughts on hairline design? Did I go too conservative?
DomTransplant replied to fsu2012's topic in Hair Transplant Reviews
For 1300 this will be awesome. I'm at 5 months - but yes it feels lower than my initial post op pics. But, to be honest, I've seen a fair few posts of people who say similar things, thinking they should have taken it lower. In the end, almost everyone is happy with the results. No hairline is straight, this will suit your face I'm sure and you've protected an extra +/- 1K grafts by a really sensible hairline. This will be great dude. -
What are my options realistically?
DomTransplant replied to bmp010's topic in Hair Restoration Questions and Answers
I share the sentiment of @BackFromTheBrink - this is all super solid advice. I'd recommend looking at @Gatsby journey. His thread should be able to give more information on Eugenix and options for high Norwood cases. -

I know the exact feeling, thinking should I have taken this down more... but, this will look super natural and is a really nice looking hairline. It looks like it's a really sensible decision between you & your surgeon, anything too low and you just risk using too much of your donor unnecessarily. Happy growing How many grafts? Just looks like really sensible future planning. -

*Month 5 Updates* No comparison pics - apologies, but you can compare from above. Pictures taken with flash as normal. Both sides started to thicken up a bit, I'm pleased with where things are at for month 5. Some are further along than this but I've seen month-to-month progress and that's all I really care about. LEFT TEMPLE MONTH 5 RIGHT TEMPLE MONTH 5 I often take close ups to see progress of new hairs. This was taken today on the left temple, which has a little bit of catching up to do. Tons of new growth on the way so looking forward to next couple of months. , BACK OF HEAD MONTH 5 -
Im sorry you feel that way. You said you were scared and I'm literally just making broad points. It is true that for results, as a broad point that for HTs its better if you can be on medication as to keep the native hair. That isn't possible for everyone as you've mentioned in your personal instance and fibres and further transplants can help depending on the aggression of the hair loss. I have no interest in arguing so wish you luck on your hair transplant and hope it goes great!
-
Commented on your previous comment but it's also almost certain that the hair he's losing at the front is not previously transplanted hair but native hair. Regarding hair lost from hair transplant, hair goes in cycles, so it's not unusual to experience thinning and regrowth even for transplanted hairs in 18-24 ish month cycles.

You don't need to be scared mate. All @Melvin- Admin is saying is completely fair and reasonable. It is always best to take medication if you're considering a hair transplant. A hair transplant is not a miracle cure for hair loss, but a good way to make the areas in which you have lost hair look more dense. But, if you are losing hair and are receding, a hair transplant will not stop you from continuing to lose hair on other parts of your head. That's why it is advisable to be on Finasteride & Minoxidil, so that we can limit the hair loss in other areas where transplanted hair does not exist. It really depends for you though, if you are in a position where you're not really losing hair at a rapid rate and your recession is controlled, then you may be okay without medication, but it's not the better of the two options imo.

4000 Grafts with Dr Ozlem Bicer Feb 2023

I mean it's a great result overall. Any plans to go and top up your crown in a future session? Personally don't think it's urgent or needed. I think aesthetically the most impressive area is how dense the back of your temples look, really nice hairline. Enjoy the new hair, super happy for you. -

Shock Loss Update Went for a tidy up trim today. Thought it'd be useful for others who are experiencing shock loss. Results are probably a bit of an illusion as opted not to go as short on the back. However, you can definitely see an improvement in density in the previously shock-loss affected mid area, even if it were to be cut shorter. It's definitely not 100% normal, and there is some evidence of shock-loss on left and right mid area, but it's improving. The lower-shock loss affected areas are a little slower, and can be seen slightly in longer hair. I'll probably next month get it cut to a 1/2 on the back to see where things are really at (though definitely won't style it this way long-term) -

120 DAY UPDATE Definitely a solid progress month as pictures hopefully show. Try to give honest images, though a little difficult as lighting always affects it so being as consistent as I can. At present, the right temple (bottom images) is definitely fuller than the left temple. A few reasons anecdotally why this is. 1) I have more grafts in this area so will appear denser initially due to larger surface area. 2) Had less hairs on this side shed during first 2 months and so more of these hairs give impression of thicker. 3) The way I style my hair, this side hairs fall on top of each other more. 4) Most importantly, I've seen enough reports of uneven hair growth during early periods for it not to be something I'm particularly worried with. I'm hoping this is just temporary and is a small concern, it's more noticeable in person imo. I'm hoping things balance themselves out over the coming 8+ months. But to be totally honest, am just really pleased to have any hair at all there at the four month stage. Going to get a haircut today, so will update the shock-loss accurately in a second post. LEFT TEMPLE 90-120 DAYS RIGHT TEMPLE 90-120 DAYS -

Just checked my initial conversation, I wasn't asked in that order. I was given a quote after I'd provided medical information and was given a quote a few days later, after which I gave the information you've been asked for. Though they may do things differently now... sorry I can't be of more help. -

Dr Bicers fees as of June 2023 were 2.5 EURO per graft. I had 2500 grafts so total came to 6250 EUROS. This didn't include flights or accommodation etc. -

Thanks - good question re: redness. I've definitely seen a reduction in redness from weeks 10-12. However, it still is slightly red on both sides. Still of the view that I'll see where everything is month 6 (think it's the best mentally or I'd just forever worry). -

*Month 3* Keeping this active for those that have found/will find it useful. Today marks 90 days since the transplant. Some things to report... improved temple growth in the past few months, more on one side than the other, but not particularly worried about uneven growth, aware this is very common and feel I've had some good progress given it's only month 3. I had a haircut today for the first time which was awesome, waited 3 months on Dr Bicers recommendation. So 3 months without a haircut and wearing a hat every day has been fine, but playing sports without one has been a bit tough as it has looked pretty terrible. As for the shock loss, it's definitely improving, is more noticeable now the back has been buzzed today as was covered by longer hair, but I'm hoping over the next 3 months with continued topical minoxidil it'll continue to improve, but there is definitely some improvement from 4 weeks ago. BACK OF HEAD MONTH 3: SHOCK LOSS PROGRESS -
