I think it’s still an important question notwithstanding some of his results.
I literally would’ve gone with him if the consult / design wasn’t so conservative.
What was his proposal? Hairline too high? You didn’t trust his judgement?

Can you ask if there is any tests to see if any medication (Oral minox, Oral dut, fin ?) is not going to work for some of patients? If these does not work, does not make sense to do the HT, right?
Also, are there any medical conditions (not nw level) stop people doing HT? Any test we need to do before the HT, like bloodwork? I did my first HT, the redness and some inflammation is still there at some spots after 2 years, and my dermatologist gave me more medication and ordered biopsy. Why this happen after so long and can i still do a 2nd HT?
Thanks so much
I’ve had to have quite a few blood tests done before my procedure with him on Monday…. Some ask for it, some don’t….

looking forward to this discussion. 👌- 2

Looks like a normal adult hairline, doesn’t it? Looks good…

I always think results looks better with curly hair too. Whatever the length… I think if your hair is very tidy and groomed, it tends to be more see through…

The reason to stop DHT blockers before a surgery is so that the best Hair Grafts can be cherry picked for the surgery, as DHT blockers can extend the anagen phase of hairs, it does not give a true picture of how well resilient that particular hair graft is from within against DHT attack 🙂
Oh right, yeah, that makes sense…. Although, I can’t imagine a week of Finasteride is going to make my hair look any different at all… 🤷🏻♂️

What's the reason for stopping prior to surgery?
They’ve just said it’s standard practice for their surgery. I trust them implicitly. Just thought people might have a guess as to why some do it and some don’t….

Having surgery in 7 days, with Bruno Pinto. They’ve told me to stop taking fin from today. It’s No problem but just wondering if all doctors ask for this?

I just dislike how large my forehead is with my temporal recessions. Think it makes me look much older than I really am, and uglier. When my hair gets long enough to cover my temporal recessions I feel so much more confident, but I know I look hideous when it parts off incorrectly (wind & movement) and exposes my temples. I just settle with an exposed temporal haircut and embrace what I have. Nobody has really commented on my hair loss, just the fact that my forehead is large lol, but Im sure people can tell I'm receding.
Used to bother me a ton and be crippling (took like 500+ photos over a span of a few months back in 2019/2020 lol). Now I still think about it everyday, but it’s no longer crippling.
I hear you, mate. To me it almost looks Harry Styles esque! Incidentally, he’s just shaved his head and I reckon he’s getting a transplant!
its hard to see the forehead issue from the pics you’ve sent… could maybe send some showing a bit more of your face?
here’s Harry!

My opinion is that your hair is in good shape. In fact, I envy how strong your hairline is! I always think a bit of recession looks masculine.
why do you want to do something? How much does it bother you?- 1

Looks great, mate. Really good.
Did you find it difficult with the partial shave? Did it help disguise the work at all? Contemplating it myself for my surgery…. -

Hi guys. Surgery is on Jan 15th…. Contemplating shaving my head now, in preparation…. Or is it best to keep it long, so he can see what he’s dealing with?
cheers

Am I the only one who thinks Dr Bicers results are poorly documented? Fair enough, I’ve only looked on Instagram, but the images aren’t detailed at all, compared to Pinto, Fuegenix, De Freitas etc…

Welcome to healthcare in USA. I have to pay more on things even with insurance.
I think the UK is heading the same way, mate, but that’s a whole different conversation!

I had surgery with Dr. Pinto a few years back, also from the UK, and yeah I had to pay I think it was £500 for the same tests. Don’t think there’s much of a way around it, my surgery was coming up though and I’d left it last min, so I didn’t really shop around too much and just paid for it. You could just get the HIV and the two Hepatitis tests done at an STI clinic, which I would assume will be free, and then pay for the rest through a clinic, which I would think will be a fair bit cheaper. Still probably gonna cost a few hundred quid though I’d imagine.
I got the lot done today for £370. Bit of a bugger, when you’ve budgeted, and I was naive thinking I’d just get it done on NHS! Had a free “well man” check apparently too!!! I’m sure it will all be worth it….
worth baring in mind though, lads. Not all places ask for them though…

It's always perfect before too, even when they are fully balding, unless he/she him/herself feels it can be enhanced.
I think this is an excellent point. Some people don’t have much loss. But if it bothers that person, they go to a good surgeon, and understand expectations, then they should do what they want.
a lovely subtle result here. I wish I could afford you, Munib! -

Haven't found any solid prices for the full package, I'll let you know if I find anything. Do you mind sharing the provider you've found for £450?
It was the Nuffield in Wolverhampton

I'm having the same issue, but I haven't asked my NHS doctor just yet. I've also been asked to get an ECG. Asked the patient coordinator and she said the clinics local to the hair transplant surgery won't be able to provide the results in time for the next day.
Complete Blood Count (Hemograma completo)
Ferritin (Ferritina)
Blood Glucose (Glicemia)
Ionogram (Ionograma)
Coagulation (Coagulación)
Hepatitis B and C (Hepatitis B y C)
AIDS (HIV 1 / HIV 2) (Sida - VIH 1 / VIH 2)Nightmare, mate. I didn’t factor this into the expense at all. Definitely something to consider if getting work done abroad. You had any prices? £450 is the cheapest I’ve had!!

Ask Dr Pinto if they have a local clinic doing it there the day before. Like Mr Rolandas, who had his surgery in Porto too:

I had blood tests before my procedure in Turkey but didn’t pay extra for them… yeah they won’t operate if you’ve got hiv or anything
Are you in the uk?

Yep. Not sure if this is because of any of the blood test content that you would be doing for the blood test that you had to pay but in my case it was 100% free.
I let them know beforehand that I needed to do it and made sure to book it like a month before.
It’s odd. I’ve been told again that the NHS won’t do this for me! Gutting really. I’m going to have to cancel, because of the blood tests….

What a great experience that was! And how lovely is Bruno! Meticulous in his work. Who knew grey hairs were actually see through, under a microscope?! Will document my case in the next few days. Currently having a bath with a Super bock! 🍺🍺
