  1. Hi. After a hair transplant, the hairs that shed, do they usually start to grow slightly than shed. Or do they just shed? Are hairs that start to grow before shedding also going to shed or have those just start growing like they would later on?
  2. So basically if any grafts do grow after the transplant they won't shed but the ones that just sit there not growing will be the ones that shed than grow back? If I'm understanding correctly
  3. Appreciate the responses. When I say return to sports soon, I mean as in starting around the 2 month mark post op. I've lightly returned to the gym about 16 days post op as my clinic said after 14 days is fine. I'm planning to start exertion that is more challenging about 1 month post op and than around 2 months I'll get back into sports. I'm just curious to what others have experienced with the different timelines they took and if it effected growth
  4. So basically after 2 weeks, bumps shouldn't matter? Obviously the plan is to avoid it but I feel like I'm way too paranoid about bumping my head or something
  5. Hi. I'm curious as to whether you csn negatively effect your grafts after 14 days post op. The general consensus is after 14 days there secure. So why are we told to avoid activities where you may bump your head for much longer if the healing is done? Can bumping your head actually compromise anything at this point? How bad of a bump would it take? I'm asking because I do want to return to sports soon but I'm not sure if I bump my head it'll cause an issue to the grafts. I'm guessing light scrapes and stuff won't matter at this point. I mean who really knows but curious to your thoughts and experiences on this
  6. Obviously the goal is not to hit your head anywhere but generally, 2 weeks post op, are your grafts pretty much secure at this point and light bumps wouldn't have an impact. I'm being way too careful still since I'm 17 days post op. But still. Better to be safe than sorry but any ideas in this stuff
  7. Thats not true. I'm not saying I won't travel. I just have a certain amount of how far I'm going. That's too far. I'd consider Europe, but ideally if there's a good surgeon in the US I'd prefer that. That's why I'm here asking. This is just research. I had an op about 2 weeks ago
  8. Anyone know who specializes in that and if there are any in the US that are very good? I'm talking about like chest, leg, are hair etc. More for filling in between gaps.
  9. That makes sense. They did the same to me. I went from I have a solid head of hair combed properly to wow that's horrible hairloss when pulled back In a certain correction with the headcomb
  10. Do transplanted hairs just sit there not growing than shed within a month of two or do they start to grow and than shed in the first 2 months and than grow back?
  11. Hi. After day 8 when the scabs are massaged off, is it okay to gentle massage or touch the transplanted areas. I'm still hesitant too but wouldn't logic say that since I had to gentle massage to get the scabs off, it's okay to gently massage the area during washing? I'm playing it safe but just curious. I was told to avoid wearing anything that would cause friction and wouldn't gentle massage cause friction I guess. I'm following whatever the clinic has told me but I'm curious to this as I was just doing my daily wash and thinking about it
  12. I was just there. I'd recommend a neck pillow, a spray bottle for washing that you'll need after the 2 day procedure, I had a 2 day procedure as well. I rented a car but I did not take Valium which most patients take so I could drive. But the pain was really bad possibly due to that so I wouldn't recommend skipping that. It's a long 2 days. Be ready for that. I stayed at le cote vert which is was about 7 minute drive from the clinic. Nice place. Very helpful people. Just no 24 hour room service which is annoying when u wake up at random times and are hungry. Uber eats works well as they deliver it to the front desk and they bring it upstairs. Feel free if u have any questions to msg or ask here.
  13. Congratulations. I see the thread of your first surgery. Your hair looked really full in the front. Cab you share a photo of your front the clinic took before shaving your head. The photos you shared from the back doesn't really show much from your first transplant. Best of luck
  14. Lol tbh I think we all are super worried that something may happen but from what I understand as well, as long as you don't bleed and are generally careful, you'll be fine. I think you'll be fine.
  15. This is a very balanced answer. I'm just going to wait and communicate what I'm supposed to and re evaluate with time. What's done is done for now. There are a few things that stuck out to me but no need to further address it now. I will just be patient. I have some gripes for sure but I will try to see how I feel in a few months when the growth starts and stuff. I will take photos and everything and maybe post a full on review than
  16. Yeah it's very tough but luckily I'm on like day 4 or 5 now. 2 day op and time difference. Don't even feel like calculating . But cant wait till the scabs are off for sleep purposes
  17. I was told something similar in terms of graft security by someone at the clinic who did my post op instructions. I was just playing it extra safe and was curious to what people have heard as I've heard a bunch of different timeliness regarding graft security. Can never be too careful
  18. I had a two day operation and the 2nd day was beard extractions. So I was laying on my side for a bit during the beard extractions. I had hairline work done the first day and mostly crown work the second. As far as sleeping post op goes, is sleeping on our back simply for swelling? I've been sleeping on my back for about 5 days now. Was just curious as to why we can't sleep on our sides if I was made to lay side ways the day right after hairline work. I always used to think it was so the grafts don't fall out of place but that wouldn't seem to be the case based on being made to lay on my side for beard extractions. I'll keep sleeping on my back though to be safe but something that I was thinking about. Anyone know more about this? Thank you
  19. As I've said above, I'm going to be patient now.. I am not doubting the skill of Dr bisanga and how good the bhr team is. I spoke to Ian through email and after seeing his response, i think for me the best course of action is to wait. I will continue to communicate with bhr and hopefully the final result will be a good one. I just need some time to get through this initial phase and let everything calm down and I will update you all when I'm comfortable. I've just received my photos from bhr. I may share some of them in the future but for now I'm not comfortable with that. I did not say anything here that was not true on my end in terms of how I felt. I understand and appreciate the complexity of my case and by no means think its an easy one. I'm going to simply wait now and see the results and will document things as I go along. I do apologize that I'm not sharing images as I know that's very important but I'm not yet comfortable doing so.
  20. Update. I've spoken to my patient advisor ian. He's offered me an explanation. I will not rush to judgement now and will wait to see the results before further commenting on the situation. I'm not comfortable as yet to show images but I may do so in the future. I'm sure bhr will comment and offer more transparency on the situation. It's difficult to get the nature of the situation without images but I'm not ready to share as of yet. Since I'm still in my basic recovery phase, I will just wait and see before commenting futher.. I would not say I regret choosing bhr. Only the results will dictate that.
  21. Whatever you say man. Perhaps it was the fact my surgery was over 2 days. First day was only hairline so that was traced. And the crown wasn't and all the spray and stuff probably washed it off. I'm not sure. But I know the lines were gone and regrown
  22. I wouldn't be too worried. I think he's an excellent surgeon. I just wish there was a tad bit better communication. I'm just hoping for good growth. What's done is done
