  1. Daft question but surely an identical twin would be bald too ?
  2. Yskhleif I had my HT at Transmed 11 weeks ago. I took three weeks off and nobody other than my wife knows I had it done. I grew my hair long and covered my grafts and scabs and stayed indoors for two weeks. After 2 weeks the scabs were gone as were the staples. My grafts were covered by forward combing and long hair. I am a Norwood 3/4 and pulled it off - so depending on your hairloss - so can you. I have a scar but thin and well hidden and hard to locate as your other hair covers it. Relax - Transmed will look after you. They looked after me ! Regards Mop
  3. Bill Have I not answered your question above when I wrote "dont recall any clinical studies" ? If anyone wishes to follow up on my comments on the DHT blockers such as soya - I suggest you do a google search on the subject of "DHT Blockers" - you will see plenty of commercial sites but there will be occasionally be the non-sales sites such as a credible UK paper :- http://www.telegraph.co.uk/hea...-the-bald-truth.html Although not a clinical study - it does highlight the work of scientists at USA Universities.
  4. Bill, I said some of these foods were medically proven in that I have read lots of stuff on the net :- (commercial website removed) And also lots of material in reputable mens health magazines. Cant recall any clinical studies but enough material to convince me they do help block DHT.
  5. Not yet - my head looks like it did pre-op. Once I get some growth I will consider some pics.
  6. Turkey is just as close as Thailand and India to Qatar - why not consult with Transmed. I had my HT translant there 10 weeks ago. Read my posts if you want more info.
  7. Good growing mate - I am ten weeks next week and also went to Transmed.
  8. Something I did - I timed the number of grafts placed by the assistant in front of me in a 5 min period using the clock on the wall. Multiplied by 12 for grafts per hour. Then factored in number of assistants working on my scalp. OK - sometimes assistants left to collect grafts, breaks and sometimes there were more working but my estimate was pretty close to what you said they planted.
  9. BJP99 - sorry my post was a complete joke and I think we all got the bug and we began some daft posts. I am sure there would be no circulation issues in the head with a few onces head downstairs !
  10. spj - soya, green tea, saw palmetto are three medically proven DHT blockers. Cant help with percentages but Saw Palemetto was recommended by my Surgeon as an alternative to meds.
  11. JohnS - you said :- Please do you have the source document for this as I have never heard this before. I know type 1 enzyme is in the brain, but I read no-one knows what it is used for. Also - why do think the drug company allowed Avodart for prostrate treatment if it did affect the brain ? I use it so am interested to know more.
  12. I would strongly advise against it ! The last thing you need is a stiffy as valuable blood will be redirected at a critical stage to your private regions when in fact that blood should be freely flowing in your scalp ! Poor circulation in the scalp could mean that the grafts are compromised and do not root. Dont risk it mate and get yourself some bromide tea and think of someone gross to keep your mind off sexual encounters - even involving oneself.
  13. I was told to wear from immediately after surjery for 3/4 days. I got swelling by day 3 anyway and it lasted until around day 5. Two days of looking really ugly then back to my normal self - just moderately ugly. Dont think you should put any pressure on the stitched area unless it bleeds and then only until it stops. For anything to heal it needs natural and unihibited circulation.
  14. I had an on-line consult with two recommended doctors and had my HT 8 weeks ago with one of them. Both suggested the same number of grafts. I based my decision on research done here and other web sites. For some they must speak to the doc first, with me being in the UK - I put faith in what was said and written and went for it as I had to fly, I didn't want to make two trips.
  15. Donor and recipient area bloody hurt ! Thankfully only for about 15 - 20 seconds each time.
  16. I am 8 weeks and 85 % of my grafts shed with many of them having that kink at the end - like 90 degree bend. Normal stuff but not sure how the kink comes in. I have had the pimples too - gone now.
  17. HairIsThere - I can see the attraction of pubic hair, if you have always had straight hair and fancied a perm !
  18. For TIPS - you cant beat the thread done by SPEX - the best on this Forum :- http://hair-restoration-info.c...711023803#2711023803
  19. I have asked the same question on another thread. I know for strip, the scar would stretch. I want to know why they dont seem to go there for FUE.
  20. I just looked - dont think its him. I looked at a Nesbitt photo - he has different ears and no spot over his right eyebrow like this guy. Date is also two years ago whereas I think Mr Nesbitt's change is more recent. He has had HT but I dont think its him.
  21. Yes - same here at six weeks post HT. One was big, leaked abit, became crusty and disintegrated this morning - YUK ! Odd ones are painful.
  22. When I see the photos of patients who have had FUE, I see the harvested area on the back on the head and it is quite high, ie either side of the Ridge aound ear level, which is the obvious safe zone. I am thinking of FUE next year and would like it to be discreet and not have to shave down large sections of my head Why dont Surgeons harvest hairs right at neck level, at the base of the scalp , at the lowest point ? That way longer hair from above could hide the scars and red dots ? I know Surgeons dont extract the FUT strip from the lowest point, ie neck level, because it could stretch, but what is stopping Surgeons targetting this area for FUE ?

  24. Membership of the ISHRS is apparently just a straightforward job of paying a subscription, I think you need the minimal medical qualifications. They dont check or validate results, you best bet is to pick a Doc from the recommended list on this website. The moderators visit clinics and check results before they get recommended.
  25. I am from the UK but only had my HT around 6 weeks ago, I am in the shedding phase so I look pretty much like I did pre-HT. Waiting for growth in a few months ! I wrote a long article on my experience at Transmed - suggest you do a search on Transmed or my name and you will find it.
