  1. My roommate is taking this product which comes in a capsule form called 'Shen Min Hair Nutrient - Advance Men's Formula' Has anyone heard of this product? If you have, can you please post your reviews or comments about it. Thanks. James
  2. hey mate! if ur going to the usa always get some sort of travel insurance that covers medical. there hospital/medical system is different from ours. those americans will rob you blind at every opportunity they get and hospitals can be very expensive over there if anything goes wrong. cheers, j
  3. I have a story to share ... I'm a 32 year old male. About a year and a half ago I had my first ht and about 4 months ago I had a second ht to add density to my first ht. After my first ht I was a bit unhappy. The direction of the hair wasn't right and above my right temple the level of density was quite thin. So, about 4 months ago I went in for another ht to increase density. For all you guys who are uncertain if a ht is right for you, my suggestion is to take the leap and just do it. while density after my second ht isn't complete since it's only been 4 months, generally speaking it's so much better than it was before. as far as self-esteem is concerned, i can't believe already the difference this second ht has made. it has been about 7 or 8 years since girls have smiled at me on their own accord because they might be a bit physically interested in me. at only four months now, i go out and girls smile at me all the time. everyday there is at least one girl who smiles at me. i have always known that my hair loss has affected my self-esteem but i can't even begin to express the difference it has made in my life now to have people smile at me. of course, i am not going to sleep with everyone of these girls but wow, what a difference it makes to be noticed and to know that i haven't lost my 'mojo' anymore. anyway, i just wanted to share this with everyone because for all you guys (and i was one of them) who avoided going out socially because they're embarassed by their hair loss, or have low self-esteem, or feel less attractive than other guys, just bite the bullet and get the ht done. it has made such a huge difference in my life and this is only at 4 months after my second ht. it really is just astounding the difference it has made for me. j.
  4. hey man! how'd your transplant go? i also had a ht about 3 mths ago in thailand. i'm living in singapore and thailand is probably the closest place to go with the best doctors in this part of the world. i see you're from Oz as well, but I'm not sure what the doctors are like down there. i had my ht with dr. damkern pathomvanich. i'm curious to know how it went for you with your doctor though. cheers.
  5. hey man! i'm thinking u might live in Australia. If so, out of curiosity, who was the doctor u saw. I'm an Aussie living in Singapore and I went up to Bangkok for my ht. i pretty much had the same thing done as you and was receding very similarly to you as well. my growth afte rthe ht was not as i expected and i ended up going for a 2nd procedure three months ago. as everone says, it takes time and density will continue over the next few months, but i understand your concern at this point in time because after 4 months you expect growth and density to be moreso. james
  6. hey man! i have seen your previous posts and i think it's looking pretty good. i'm at 3 months post op and your transition from 3 to 5 months is inspiring for me. i'm looking forward to seeing your post next month. cheers, james
  7. I had my 2nd ht 2 months ago. a friend had a look at it about a week ago and said the donor area scar has stretched. it is about half a centimetre in thickness. i'm really disappointed about this given that after my first ht the scar was pencil-line thickness. my biggest concern now is that it is going to continue to stretch and i've got a few questions: 1. what can i do to prevent it from stretching any further? 2. is there anything i can do to make the already stretched scar retract? 3. should i be in touch with my doctor, and if so, what do you think he's going to suggest? if there's anything at all? thanks!
  8. hair loss sucks and you know what sucks even more is when you've had 2 ht's and they never seem to meet up to your expectations.
  9. i'm not so much worried about the grafts, but moreso stretching the scar on the back of my head. i've read about guys working out to early and this causes poor healing of the scar from the donor area and increases the likelyhood of stretching. can anyone comment on this specifically? i've actually even read that it's best not to start working out for as long as three months. any thoughts about that? thanks!
  10. hi guys! i am at about 7.5 weeks post op. when can i start working out again and up to what level of intensity? thanks!
  11. hi guys! i had a hair transplant 7 weeks ago and i was wondering at what point in time i should be expecting to start seeing growth. thanks!
  12. thanks guys! just double checking those percentages. are they percentage of growth or are they amount of density? just to clarify, i define the difference as 'percentage of growth' being actual new hair growth, and 'amount of density' as being overall thinkness. thanks!
  13. hi guys! 6 weeks ago i had a hair transplant. all the hairs have fallen out and in about how much time can i expect to start to see new growth? thanks!
