That is true but it's not like survival rate of grafts of other top surgeons lags far behind. It's already in the 90%+ and so Zarev isn't relatively that much higher. You can only get to 99%.

I think Zarev simply harvests from the entire head, way outside the traditional safe donor zone, and does so in a very calculated and proper way in terms of density distribution, so that when it all grows back, there are no obvious areas that stand out as having been over-depleted.

Yep I think you nailed it. To cover that much ground you have to take hair from outside a more dht resistant zone. He does so in a homogenous way so the donor doesn’t look depleted in one area more than the other. But who is to say what these hair transplants look like 30-40 years from now. Hopefully the same but we don’t have that evidence yet. I would love to hear what Dr Konior thinks of Dr Zarev technique? Would be really cool considering one is considered the greatest ever and Zarev is certainly heading into that territory for high norwoods.

Thank you very much! I completely agree, and that was my wish also. Feriduni was very satisfied how the micro irregularities complimented the hairline and my hair caliber.

I think it looks great. And if you ever bald you have plenty of hair in the back to use. When you shave down to a low guard can you see any fue scars? Happy for you man enjoy your hair now!

So one year has gone by -- and I was at my in-person 1 year check up at Feriduni in Hasselt last week. Very satisfied with the results, and below is comparison pictures attached - surgery day and 11,5 months after. Can't be happier with the follow up and professionalism of Dr. Feriduni and the technicians.postop1y.thumb.jpg.f19de610aaf9166c00a0ea4d10574f0b.jpg

Wow this is what we call a natural hair transplant. You don’t want a straight dense hairline because then people will know it is fake. This looks like OP never balded but also matured with time. Dr Feriduni and staff did a homerun here!

based on the studies, a one time application is best. Yes, it isn't foolproof the way it is now at least, but we hope to first fully establish that it helps, and upon establishing that, get it to as close as foolproof as possible.

Will be awesome if they ever do find a way to prevent scarring. Regrowing hair would be a miracle but preventing scarring could change the surgical industry

the control had normal scarring, the test had reduced scarring and more hair

Interesting. So there was still scarring. It isn’t full proof. Which would make fut even more interesting because scarring on fut is usually more pronounced/common. I wonder if verteporfin treatments injected into scar every week or month after the procedure would benefit it at all? Would be interesting. I assume it would be expensive for a patient to get verteporfin use after their procedure

I don't think there is any data out there one way or another on this so basically, you're just going off of anecdotal evidence. There is evidence that DHT declines (Along with Testosterone) as you get older, so perhaps that leads to slower loss. But it really depends on your hair follicles genetic susceptibility to DHT. If your hair follicle has a high affinity for DHT, it doesn't matter if your DHT gets lower because some will always be circulating and will find its way to your hair follicles.

I’m just going off what I saw on a hair restoration doctor’s site. But I honestly have no idea of progression does slow down. So thank you for you comment!

There isn't a straight answer to this.

Some people will bald in 2 years, others in 10, others might take 20. If you're on Finasteride/Dutasteride you will likely be able to keep it for life (being controversial but i'm an optimistic when it comes to meds) thats my view.

Interesting. You think that meds save everyone? Some may have a higher dht than meds can block and this still bald on the meds? But if dht lessens as we age then the med may work better for someone that is 35 than 25?
