  1. Not only do you post the most in depth photos but you provide easily some of the best natural cases in the world.  Nothing on this looks like it was transplanted. Literally looks like this person never lost hair but not in a too dense or weird way if that makes sense lol this is a 11/10 result! Congrats doc!

    You make good points

Okay fair. I respect your response. And I agree nw0 would be awesome but I don’t want young kids to think that is the only good thing. If you have minimal hair loss and come from a family of NW0s then for sure aim for that. But young men will go to turkey pay 4K and put 5000 grafts up front. What happens if they bald? Norwood 0 is awesome but it is very rare. And the people with it are genetically blessed lol. I’d take it but it just isn’t smart to put so many grafts in that area. But if you like nw0 I am not knocking you for that. It is definitely a great look. I just don’t think bald people are ugly. Because that is totally out of their control. Doesn’t matter what style hair you have as long as you are confident in it. Sorry for coming off mean I just got frustrated with that comment and felt I needed to retract my initial comment on it not looking natural. It is natural it is just rare.

This is a gigantic lie and I don’t know who propagated it and then it became acceptable.

My father is a NW0 and it doesn’t look unnatural. My uncle is NW0. My relatives have NW0s.

What looks unnatural and super ugly is balding and bald people. The receded hairline looks ugly and unnatural.

Sorry to say but this is just your cope mechanism, this is how you’re coping with the fact you will never be able to have what non-bald have.

There is a guy in this forum who lowered his hairline even further despite not suffering any  MPB and he looks fantastic.

What you’re saying is akin to saying being slim and fit looks unnatural in old age. No?!! What looks good in teens look good in old age too.

Brad Pitt looks better than many young people in their 30s, it’s all due to his perfectly straight hairline.

    1. I think you and me both know Brad pitts attraction doesn’t have “all” to do with his nw0.

    2. Slim and fit and balding are two different things. Staying healthy is vital to everyone. There are many people on this forum that are bald or balding that are slim and fit. They didn’t ask for balding genes. You don’t need hair to be successful/healthy. But taking care of your health is important. Not one place did I say that slim and fit is unattractive you just wanted to use that as one of your points to look smart or something. Some people don’t like wrinkles so they get Botox. As a teen they didn’t have wrinkles so at 75 I shouldn’t have wrinkles. Based off your idea that person wouldn’t look strange. What looked good in your teens does not necessarily look natural or normal in your later years.
    3. Yes the guy does look fantastic by lowering his hairline but you commented “I want a straight hairline and all those hairlines are balding hairlines.” Assuming you have hair loss(which that member did not) it would be dumb to chase a nw0 if you only have so many grafts to give. You would look rather strange with a nw0 but hair loss in your crown.
    4. It isn’t a coping mechanism. Imo many dudes have Norwood patterns greater than nw0 and pull off the look. Henry Cavill was my example. And I don’t view hair as more important than anything else like you. I have a good head of hair. Many people on this forum do. Of course we’d love maybe a lower hairline or a more dense look but it isn’t a necessity in my life. Mainly because I have confidence in myself and my look and it hasn’t stopped me from anything in my life. There are people with nw0 that have no confidence and no drive. I’d much rather have those things than a nw0.
    5. I don’t think hair loss or bald people are “super ugly” at all. You’d be calling most men that including yourself. That is a very close minded thing to say. Of course some would love hair but saying they are “all” ugly is rather ignorant. This just goes back to you viewing hair as the most important thing. And even though it may give someone more confidence in their appearance it will not make you rich or smart or anything that you don’t already have. Just because you like it and grew up seeing it doesn’t make other styles of hair unattractive. Dr Feriduni has built many hairlines that are not nw0 and I would say all of them look very natural and very good. Natural means it exists and occurs in nature. And nw0 even though it looks good and does exist it isn’t very common. Not many 80 year olds are nw0. And it would look a little weird as I’ve said to see someone 40-50+ with nw0. Does it make them ugly? No. It just doesn’t happen often so it is weird. Not one place did I call nw0 ugly. I said it isn’t natural to see them often. They don’t occur in nature often. So if chasing a nw0 is your goal and you jeopardize grafts by doing so you will think it would’ve been smarter to have a more natural for your age hairline. A nw0 is not natural for a 60 year old. Doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist it just deviates from the standard of men. I think maybe you don’t know exactly what a nw0 is. It is very rare. I’m sure your relatives have some form of hair loss wether you notice it or not. A nw0 is a juvenile hairline and even people with great hairlines may have had some maturing to their hairline.

    Favorite Five HT Doctors*

    1) Munib Ahmad (Fuegenix): has the best results I've ever seen, extremely detailed and honest presentation of his cases, is not afraid but proud about showing very high resolution pictures of his work and is active on the forum. For me, he is the best hair transplant surgeon in the world and definitely my choice for my future hair transplant.

    2) Zarev: best option for high norwood patients, with extremely detailed and honest presentation of his cases, featuring plenty of high resolution pictures.

    3) Couto: natural results, great hairline designs, good presentation of his work (not perfect like Munib Ahmad or Zarev but good). Love his emphasis on temples and his sense for aesthetics while providing natural looking results.

    4) Feriduni: great, natural results with good and honest presentation of his cases, albeit pictures in lesser quanitity and not as high resolution (but still good) as Munib Ahmad or Zarev's. Skilled with temple work too.

    5) Konior: I think his results are as good as Feriduni's, same with the presentation of his cases. I'm putting him 5th because he reportedly is more expensive than Feriduni and Couto while providing similar quality work (to my eyes).

    Worst

    1) Any hairmill, but Chris Don Mctyre is a scumbag of the highest order. Proves that you don't need to go to Turkey to find a hairmill. Search for "ReGrow Hair" and "Chris Mctyre" here and prepare to be horrified. Dude is not even a hair transplant doctor, yet says he is one (just for starters).

    Most Overrated

    1) Pekiner: I don't understand how people say he is one of the best without having honest, high resolution pictures taken with a camera (not a smartphone) of his work to judge properly. I don't say he is bad, just that the many pictures available are not good enough to say him (or anyone presenting pictures of such quality) is good or bad. He is recommended here a lot, that's why I think he is overrated (will change my opinion, or not, after seeing high quality pictures constantly, like the ones the doctors in my top 5 provide for every one of their cases).

    Most Underrated

    1) Munib Ahmad (Fuegenix): he is providing the best results with the highest quality pictures constantly and people think he is a future promise or something like that...he is the present, you don't need to wait 30 years to know it, just a pair of eyes.

    Best Value

    1) Mwamba: natural results, good presentation of his work (not perfect like Munib Ahmad or Zarev but good). Has the best beard to beard transplant results I've seen too, I think he is a very complete and safe option, and IIRC costs 3€ per graft + VAT. Not cheap but cheaper than the other surgeons I've mentioned while still providing very high quality, natural results.

Of course, this is just my opinion, don't take it as gospel. I have no intention to offend anyone, sorry if I did.

I agree Dr Ahmad is the present but I don’t think he is the goat. I don’t think anyone can touch Konior. There is a reason he charges what he charges. His fut scars are flawless. His fue scarring is far better if not unrecognizable to any other doctor. He has had a massive role in Nadimi and Gabel being great docs. Until someone has his impact I don’t envision they ever top him. Dr Ahmad could definitely do that but I want to wait and see 10-20 years before I view him in the same sentence as Dr K!

people like jared leto (or even extremer ronald reagan) dont and didnt look weird even with no signs of receeding

however we have to make compromises because donor hair is limited and should rather be used for density at one point imho since the aesthetical marginal benefit really decreases after you have a norwood 2 hairline

Of course it exists but it isn’t common. Reagan is a massive outlier to the standard. But the biggest issue is donor capacity and if you ruin your donor capacity chasing a nw0 then you will look really weird having no hair in your crown. Nw0 looks great but so can nw1, nw2, etc if you style it right

    None.

I want hairlines to be straighter and all you posted are of the mature receded balding type.

Everyone wants that but it doesn’t look natural at 30+. How many 40 year olds do you see with nw0? It would look weird to be honest if you see it a lot. I think of Henry cavill his almost nw2.5-3 and it frames his face perfectly.

I agree with the Espinosa. I’d love to see more immediate post ops from him to see graft placement. He has been great so far though!

Thats fine. I have to say that I think he is excellent, but he is seen as the goat on this forum. So I think he is overrated with respect to how he is rated among here imo as I dont see him at the top. I Just almost never see "wow"cases where a high norwood gets transformed, something Pitella/Sethi/Zarev/Hattingen can produce. I almost always see nw 3 hairline cases.

I’ve seen Hattingen name a lot on these type of posts. I like both doctors but I don’t ever go “wow” when I see their results. Any link to cases you like from them?

  9. I don’t really have a most overrated but my favorites are:

    1. Konior(easily the goat)

1a. Dr Ahmad(I think he is the future of the HT world)

    2. Feriduni(super natural results)

    3. Pekiner(love his hairlines)

    4. Pittella(great for high norwoods and great job showcasing results)

    5. Shapiro(the most ethical doctor in the world)

    Worst

    1. any of the well known mills in turkey

    Underrated

    1. Thiago Bianco Leal/Lars Heitmann/Heinicke- all seem to have flawless results but you don’t see many patient results online!

    Best Value

    1. Laorwong(jump on that now because he is worth way more than he charges lol)

Here’s some top shots from this weekend. The bottom one is where I started. Almost 5 month mark. Dr Z says the top takes longer than the hairline and the crown comes last, maybe 4 more months until it’s meant to look great. Will post the Dr Zarev yellow background update pics this weekend.

Oh yes. That is a 4 there. Looking from the side you can not see it but from the back looks like I just took a baseball hat off. Checking on what can be done to correct it.

Interesting. That’s my biggest worry with fut is how do you hide it? Fue into the scar isn’t always guaranteed but that’s all I can’t think of

  12. 1 hour ago, FormerFutureKrillin said:

I doubt it was blood flow related. In fact I had heavier bleeding on that side if I recall correctly.

When I saw Dr. Bloxham at 7.5 months, he said he just thought it was slightly behind and would catch up. Didn’t have any reason, just that my skin seemed more sensitive and was taking longer to recover which was consistent with my heavier scabbing on that side, which he said should not impact the result.

Given I’m now at 10 months without much new growth from the last check in (and have been on oral minox for 4 months) I am not holding out for much new growth from here on the weak spots.

Posting a couple clearer pics of the scar to show the difference (these are currently the widest points and it does still seem to be improving)

Interesting. Probably a 2mm scar. Do you typically heal well with wounds or do you scar easy?

Haven't been here in a while. The hair looks the same. Happy with the results overall except the "horseshoe" indention in my hair at the back of my head. Longer or shorter it is about the same. When it is longer I can mess it up a little and it covers it some. Going to check on what can be done to fix this. It's my understanding that comes from the way it was stitched up.

Can you see the scar at low guards? Like is it wide?

    Hi Everyone!

wanted to share a little 1 year update since my procedure with Dr B. This will probably be the last time I update this thread (will respond to any questions or comments that people have though) so I will try to give a good update. I am also trying to organize going into Dr Bloxhams next week so that he can do one of his video updates - will post that here if it happens.

    MY RESULT

Overall, I couldn’t be much happier with my outcome. For positives, I have a completely restored, natural looking hairline after just one procedure. I have all of my confidence back. I do not have to use toppik or any concealer at all. I go in the pool again. I actually hardly ever even style my hair now because it looks fine the way it is 😂. As you can see from previous posts, where I’ve come from to where I’ve landed is absolutely insane and, to me, almost unbelievable at times. The scar is invisible as long as I keep my hair at an appropriate length on the sides (which for me is a 3). I am able to get a low fade that looks perfectly “short” in my opinion.

For “negatives” if you want to call it that, around the 9 month mark the texture of my hair became very wavy curly and on one side a bit more wiry feeling. I think we’ve all read that this can happen. I felt it was a bit strange that it happened so late, but I will say it seems to be improving in terms of that stiff feeling. I call this out as a “negative” only because 1) when I do try to style my hair it wants to bounce back pretty hard. Again this is improving and I am 0% worried about it. And 2) because everyone who has known me for 30 years know that I have straight hair everyone asks me how I’m getting my hair to be so wavy lol. To that I have no answer. Personally I actually like the added texture and if I care enough to use a hairdryer I can easily get it out.

In the end I am super happy I went with Bloxham and I am completely content with my FUT decision. Would I be happier if I got the same outcome with FUE? Sure. But I did what I thought was best for my individual case and have no regrets about that.

Below are pics of my hair today, unwashed for 2 days, unstyled, after wearing a hat.
