  1. I had a FUE initially (not Konior) and wanted to continue with FUE and avoid FUT. I believe Konior limits his FUE under ~2000 but I could be wrong. My case was planned for two procedures, the first pass was create a hairline up front and then second pass to add density to the front and thicken the crown which was starting to thin.
  2. Really sorry that this has happened to you. I had a failed procedure to begin with, and then two FUE at ~1500 each from Konior to fix my issue. The concerning part is that the graft count from Diep is pretty high, my failure was ~1500. Clearly I would not return to the original clinic, as others have said get a consultation with elites like H&W and Konior etc. to see what they think. As an actual patient that had almost no growth in a failed procedure and then GREAT results in two follow ups, I am always very, very, very skeptical of the “bad individual physiology” excuses that clinics and others use. Sorry again that this has happened, but get a few consults and see how many grafts you have left and I bet you will be happy eventually.
  3. Trust me go just to Konior, it is like finding Michelangelo still painting ceilings when you need to get yours done. He isn’t cheap but it costs essentially the same as other top surgeons. I had a failed procedure with DiStefano in MA and it just never really grew. I hoped and waited with supposed the timelines of XX percent growth by whatever month, but really if you think it looks dicey at 5/6 months sorry to say but it’s very unlikely to work our well. For what it’s worth I had 2 FUE procedures with Konior and in month 4 they started to grow and month 5 was very noticeable. My first was night and day different as it just barely did anything.
  4. You are early at 5 months but honestly I think if it doesn’t pop by 6 months it rarely turns out great, and the doctor you used isn’t likely to produce good results imo. I am from MA and had a bad FUE procedure done locally before I was repaired by Dr. Konior in Chicago. If consistent results are your primary focus (and for sure they should be) you really have to travel and pay for an elite surgeon. Konior is a magician, not sure how your donor is but looks like you plenty available for him to give you your hair back. He would be my recommendation if you want arguably the most consistent amazing results and are willing/able to pay for a top surgeon.
  5. Konior himself posted my case on this site with the title something like “how not to and how to do 1500 FUE”. It’s under the results posted by the clinics. The pics are after my first 1500 repair with Konior taken the morning of my second 1500 with Konior which was August 2020. It grew in really well and I don’t come to this site much anymore, got the email that I mentioned in a thread so that’s why I’m posting.
  6. Honestly please avoid DiStefano, I got extremely low growth and have nothing positive to say about the experience. My repair was with Konior (2x ~1500 FUE each) and it was so good I honestly don’t think about my hair anymore. A bad procedure can really cause you tremendous pain, choose wisely…
  7. You are right at the threshold of big growth, I went to Konior and by around month 5 to 6 it was like WOW. You can already see your hair coming in, 4 months is honestly too early for much but your pic looks really good hoping for great growth for you!
  8. 100% agree with this, no offense to Jim and it should be easy fix but it is not comparable to the other three. Add in the fact that Diep is basically the same cost as Konior and the lazy cornrow implants are just not acceptable in my view.
  9. I see both Melvin and Jim’s arguments in those pics. For sure there was a massive improvement from prior state and the density looks fine but the hairline really is just too damn straight and grafts are in cornrows so it just doesn’t look as natural as it should from a top doctor. It should be a very easy fix for someone like Konior though it will certainly add to the total cost.
  10. Yes I had two procedures with Dr Konior, the most recent was August 2020. Results are what matters most and he really delivers.
  11. Only looking at clinics local to you. Caring more about cost than predictable results. This one is tricky as sometimes you just can’t afford a particular clinic, but I am more referring to a guy who has “enough” money yet takes a risk with lesser doctor to save only like $5k. Thinking a hair transplant is not a big deal, and that if you get a “bad result” it can be easily fixed. Guys need to know you can really mess yourself up with a bad doctor, potentially forever...
  12. Honestly don’t let location dictate your choice, I did that for my first procedure and the results were a failure. Thank God, I found this site and then after about a year of just reading reviews, I came to the conclusion Dr Konior in Chicago was one of the true elite docs that produce repeatable exceptional results. He is top dollar but does the whole procedure himself. If you can afford it (price comparable to other high end US docs) he is the only choice in my view. If you need a lower price Nadimi is his understudy and she has been doing procedures for a few years now. Konior gets the most out of low graft totals so donor goes long way.
  13. No idea how much budget you have or what baldness level you are / graft needs, but....as Melvin said DON’T rush!!! Honestly a bad procedure can be so much worse than just being bald. My advice is go to best clinic you can afford, and by all means ask here first as plenty of guys are happy to give real reviews when they themselves benefited from the same on this site. Good luck!
  14. Congrats man!!! Another magical Konior result! Said it before and I’ll say it again to anyone thinking of a transplant, if you can at all afford him Dr Konior is the ONLY choice.
  15. Congrats man! I had two with Konior and both times around 4 months it was pretty obvious I was in for a good result. Wishing you a great outcome!
  16. I would argue that using transplanted hair to create a NW1 hairline in the VAST majority of cases is looking for major trouble down the line. Even a older “stable” transplanted NW2 hairline could still thin out behind but at least that will be workable. In my opinion there just isn’t enough available grafts for average NW3 or worse guy to be anything but regretful after a NW1 hairline. Stinks but usually NW2 is as good as you can get and look good imho.
  17. I had a ski trip planned for 2 weeks after my FUE procedure with Konior and he basically said not to wear a helmet that soon. Something like “yeah it should be fine but why not just wait another week or two”. I would stick to a treadmill indoors if it was me.
  18. I get money matters but if you are in the US I think just save up another year or two before going to a top clinic. You need maybe 3000 for a good result so the $12,000 just isn’t going to get you there unfortunately. My advice would be save like crazy for a few years then get it done right with Konior or H&W. You have to realize the serious risk that comes from a botched transplant. It sucks but plenty of guys out there are bald, however a bad transplant really sticks out like a sore thumb. Your donor looks good but if it gets torched in a bad procedure you could lose your ability to fix your hair.
  19. Congrats Champy you look great! Yes I agree, Konior is currently producing a string of almost impossible results and thank God I am one of those. It’s like Michelangelo during his gilded years, not sure how he does it but all I can say is as my karmic payback....to anyone reading this just book a procedure with him. Dr Konior is that good...
  20. Agree that is critical to get more mileage out of each graft and he got a TON out of 3000 grafts on me. I think what is often overlooked is that many clinics have very sloppy procedures versus the few elite ones that are out there. Konior spends the whole day sitting next to your head, at my first failed procedure the doctor literally only made slits and that took like 10 minutes for cornrow holes to be made. Other than that techs extracted and implanted all the grafts with him no where in sight. No wonder it failed... I think Konior has pride in his work and while many surgeons are “painters” he really is the rare “artist”.
  21. I don’t disagree Konior is expensive BUT I paid about half his price for a failed transplant and damaged donor from my first transplant somewhere else. I then went to Konior twice for 1500 each time which was corresponding less than the 2000 graft quote you gave. My Konior results have been excellent, I am now about 6.5 months out from my second procedure with him. I know it is hard not to look at cost but with my experience, both the good and the bad, I would say if you can at all afford him go to Konior as the consistency of excellent results is worth the extra cost. You only have so much donor available and a bad result can destroy your ability to get your hair back.
  22. I briefly met Nadimi the day after my FUE with Konior and she seemed very nice and agree that there have been several good cases lately from her. If Konior is unworkable for you for sure I would go to her. The original post’s author is beyond lucky to have both local. Travel honestly is neither a big deal nor that expensive but I was afraid of it for my first procedure which was a big mistake...
  23. Dr. Konior is literally one of best in the entire world so consider yourself lucky he is local and just book with him. Dr. Nadimi is his “protege” with a lower cost and greater availability but less of a track record. I had a failed FUE at a clinic local to me before traveling far distance to see Dr Konior in Chicago two times now for FUE. In my opinion only consider Konior or Nadimi in Chicago. This forum helped me find Dr Konior and I thank my lucky stars I did. He does the whole procedure himself and has many documented cases with as close to a “guarantee” as possible as I’ve never seen a bad result from him in many years of lurking on this forum.
  24. To be honest I am not at all familiar with the International Doctors as I was focused on the US but certainly those few names you mentioned come up often in these forums and should be looked at seriously as top choices for patients outside the US. I have now had three procedures (one failed and two with Konior that were magical) and feel I can offer real experience and lessons learned as a karma payback for all that I gained from this forum. I firmly believe that if at ALL financially possible only go to the top clinic in your geography. Excluding Turkey and other low cost countries, the difference in cost between an average clinic and a world class one in the US for example is only a few thousand dollars. That might sound like a lot but it is nothing compared to the life long consequences from getting a bad result. In the US I believe Dr. Konior is the only choice, he is a true master of cosmetic hair restoration surgery. The analogy I would use is seeing the Sistine Chapel and his David sculpture and then looking for another artist instead of choosing Michelangelo to save some money. These forums are full of amazing patient results like Matt1938 illustrating Dr Konior’s work. I understand that the premier clinics have long waits but the huge benefit of this forum is helping guys find the few doctors who can REALLY give you back your hair. My advice is only go to an elite surgeon and there are simply not many who truly are in the entire world. No offense but how the heck could someone be from Chicago and NOT go to Dr. Konior?
