  1. I agree with @JohnAC71, HLC, Pekiner and maybe Hakan Doganay, I wouldn't go with anyone else in Turkey. But best to avoid Turkey altogether.

The ones you mentioned, technically they are all hairmills, with Cinik there's a chance to get a decent result if you go with his premium package where he has more involvement. Erdogan's clinic operates on many people a day with techs only doing all the operation, no wonder I've seen a lot of poor results recently. Even on this forum there's some people who complain their hairline is littered with multis, etc.

Yes, I already did the bloodwork to confirm that

    Scalp DHT reduction 80%

    Serum DHT reduction 15%

    Wow.

Why is this not advocated more than fin with such high efficacy and no sides, I don't get it.

It has stopped my hair loss completely and regrown my crown without side effects.

I had side effects with finasteride both oral and topical as well as oral dutasteride so for me it has been a godsend

I lose less than 5 hairs a day from 100

This is so great to hear, happy for you. :)

I think the reason why you never had sides is due to dut's fairly large molecular size so it wouldn't penetrate past the hypodermis.

  4. I wouldn't worry about your previously transplanted hairs being shocked, that's most likely temporary as they are not affected, weakened by DHT, as far as I know that's the main cause of permanent shock loss and it happens to natives, which you didn't seem to have a lot.

It should all come back and what a great head of hair you will have then. :)

What's the best way to reach Dr. Pekiner?

I contacted Pekiner via his website, there's a section for online consultation. You fill in your details, upload some pics and then in about 1-2 weeks Alex who is the consultant contacts you with Pekiner's response. Word of advice: check your Spam folder too. HLC and Pekiner's initial responses both landed there. Seems like Turkish clinics are blacklisted by certain email providers, lol.

  6. Can't believe I missed this post.

Thanks for sharing, @mustang, I've been considering topical dutasteride too for a while.

Couldn't really find any decent sources until recently when I saw Dr. Lupanzula also "concocts" it.

What do you think, have you seen any benefits from it? Have you ever had a dut mesotherapy session?

    Whattttt!!!
Oh my god... and having all the money he chooses Turkey 🤯

I think it's because a simple Google search for "best hair transplant" leads to a lot of sponsored ads like HOI.

And then you click on their Instagram with their fake 1.4 M followers and photoshopped or topik'd pictures and seal the deal.

The results on their Instagram and social media look poor in my opinion. I spoke to one guy over whats video and he showed me his hair pulled back, it look terrible, pluggy and fake. I felt super bad for him but at the end of the day he seemed pleased and that's all that matters. For me i think if a clinic can do your surgery within a week of consultation they can't be that great.

Damn, that's a shame, I thought Dr. Arshad was pretty decent. That's the thing though, pictures are rather deceiving. A video or actual patient reviews are completely different.

That leaves me to think it's only Dr. Ball and Dr. Reddy worth mentioning in the UK.

They said I could begin right away. With topical you have to wait 4 weeks because the alcohol is bad for grafts

    That's great to know!

I'll tell you something, but this is just my own speculation. I was one of those rare non-shedders (well, most of it didn't) with my first HT and I always thought it had something to do with taking oral minox.

We are both looking fairly odd right now 😂

Oh, man, that's an understatement, at least in my case. 😂 I think you look great now that you've grown a bit of a beard, but I just can't really do much with my looks right now. But at least in 2-3 months, if my natives in the transplant area don't get shocked too much (hope to G-d not 😰 and hopefully not permanently..), it would slowly start blending in with the rest of my hair and will be back to "almost" baseline before the transplanted hairs start growing out. Right now my only option is a pathetic comb-forward.

The bravest thing I have is hope.

Ah now I remember you telling me about your HT. I think it looks good so far. It looks like you've got some good tidy dense packing and everything looks clean and healthy. I like your attitude to everything too, its upbeat and funny :) I hope your HT blossoms into a totally awesome result man. We are both looking fairly odd right now 😂

Thank you so much for your kind words and appraisal of the work that's been done, Rossybop. :)

Yes, I think it's quite densely packed, it's not quite obvious on every picture, especially since the cracks/gaps started forming, but I remember analyzing the temples after surgery and was like "holy shit, that's so densely packed hope it won't lead to skin necrosis or permanent shock loss of the natives". There's just too many things to be worrying about. 😁 In the end I'm glad I've chosen HDC, all the other clinics I've been in touch with quoted me a smaller figure, for instance The Maitland Clinic's was 700-800 grafts, HLC Ankara around 1500, Pekiner's quote came closest to HDC but then he promised a density of 55 grafts (!) per cm2, and I found that might not be a good thing as I've got diffuse thinning.

And just like you, I'm not very excited about the prospect of going back for a touch-up in a year, so despite my initial reservations, I'm really happy I trusted Dr. Maras on this.
