in another thread, you said that you had 2 FUT procedures one in 2008 and one in 2011 and you are looking for a third one now.

So this result is before 16 years in 2008 from your first FUT procedure?

Also i have seen these photos of you..are these photos your current hair situation? You look like norwood 6 with a norwood 7 crown.

Yes, the photos are from 2008  and the surgeon is still recommended here. But regardless of the number of years gone I feel my question of asking how often these surgeons are reviewed is a legitimate one.

  2. @Reina I did mention that both my preop and post op were taken when my hair was wet with the same slick back hairstyle. The preop hair doesn't show gaps compared to my post op look. My point was/is that the HT should have been much more conservatively done by the surgeon with only 800-1000 grafts in my estimate to the temples and the hairline. Or the surgeon could have advised me to return in a couple of years while trying the safer minoxidil.   Keep in mind that I was a naive 28 year old then so I didn't know any better and was  under the illusion that I would have a full head of hair  and the surgeon never warned me about shock loss and  how my hair would look worse in 12 months time if I was to discontinue taking finasteride.

  3. Photos of my pre and post HT both with wet hair. Notice that they are no gaps seen preop while 12 months post op they are many because of the shock loss to my native hair. Also notice that my temple area and hairline  preop is fairly receded and this is what the surgeon should have focussed on.  Instead 12 months on the temple and hairline looks just as bad. Seriously  a complete  waste of time and money.

  4. How often does a HT surgeon that is recommended on this forum get reviewed? Looking back at photos of my first HT the surgeon  seemed to be very aggressive in his approach when  he should have just added grafts to the temple and hairline . Instead he placed grafts in my hairline midscalp  and close to my crown which resulted in a lot of shock loss to my native hair which then resulted in making my hair look worse 9-12 months later.  I was a naive 28 year old at the time so I didn't know any better but looking back at my preop photos it makes me extremely annoyed   that the surgeon took  the approach that he did.  So I am interested to know how often does do these recommended surgeons get reviewed and what can be done for a case like mine? I am not looking for any compensation but I want these surgeons to be held accountable if they've  been negligent.

  5. @Melvin- Admin Would you  please be able to look at my pictures and provide your opinion on what maybe the best step forward for me? I was  a member of this group in 2009-2013 and I remember an admin named 'taking the plunge' advising me then to wait until I was in my 40's before deciding to get a second HT (was in my early 30s then). If only I had taken his advice.

Mind you both my HT surgeons were recommended on this forum, one who I don't see anymore while the other still remains. When I showed my photos to Dr. Jose Lorenzo  a couple of years ago he was surprised with my results given that I  had  a total of 5000+ grafts as he felt there was  very little to show given the number of grafts placed.

I know that this will be my final HT if I was to get one so I want to do the right thing by going to the right surgeon etc. With all your experience and knowledge  would you say I am better off waiting till my 50s for a HT? From my observation the top-sides of my hair hasn't experienced much hair loss while my temple points including hair above my sideburns has lost a considerable amount of hair to the point that the hair above my right sideburn is very bald including the temple point. Is this even a normal hair loss pattern as I was alway  under the impression that hair above the sideburn stays?

I most likely have about 2500 grafts left.

Your thoughts/opinions would be appreciated and if its best in my interest to put off a HT altogether then I will consider this as well.

    Thank you.

  6. I've had two FUT hair transplants. First HT was in 2008 where 2700 grafts were extracted followed by another in 2011 where another  2700 grafts was used. Now I'm considering a 3rd HT but would like to know whether I can actually benefit since I only have around 2500 grafts left in my donor area? Currently not on any medications and I am 42 years old. Any suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated. Thank you.

  7. Hello @eyesonyouuuu  thanks for the latest photos.

From my observation your results so far looks like what your hair was like before your hair transplant which is a good sign considering Dr. Sethi mentioned  that this is only 50% of your overall  hair growth so based on that I would expect to see better hair growth/results in 8 to 12 months time.

Look forward to an update in 3  months time or  I will remind you if you forget! :)

  8. To be honest it looks a little odd with that beard hair blended with your scalp donor hair especially when seeing your video on youtube as I find videos a better interpretation   than photos.  But I suppose thats what you get when you have two different textures of hair. But thanks to this video I hope I don't ever have to  go for  a beard hair transplant and will  try and keep my existing hair as best as possible with finasteride.

  9. It's all good when a hair transplant  clinic that  shows us a good result of a patient who has good donor hair.  After all  good donor hair along with a good doctor/team and the use of medication produces good results.   I have weak donor hair and would like some recommendations on some doctors I could contact should I opt for a hair transplant.

@Portugal25 your contribution would be most welcome.

  10. @Portugal25You have  good  thick beard growth in your chin and cheek area which would really beneficial for your next hair transplant. Though will your  beard hair grow less thick after your transplant after beard hair is taken from the cheek and chin area for a hair transplant? By less thick hair I mean that after you shave the chin and cheek area will look more smooth  like this  http://www.mensfashionmagazine.com/how-to-get-a-clean-shave as  opposed to someone who has a thick  beard where even after a close shave their beard area has a shadow like this  https://prince.org/msg/100/403978?pr
