Donor Area: AVERAGE
Thanks for being upfront with your work. I just wondered how would you define: bad donor, average donor, and good donor? thanks!

Superb. And thanks for being honest and transparent with the results. Bravo.

Waw ! Over 4000 grafts for someone who is relatively young and only a Norwood 2.5 hairline with minimal loss ?
Well I mean okay it's not like you're 20 without being on medication.
You are 29 and your miniaturization seems to be stabilized thanks to the use of finasteride so you are an okay candidate but still the fact they did 4000 grafts only for a Norwood 2.5 hairline to me seems way exagerated....
Reminds me of this similar case from the same clinic and the result was really subpar...
Did you ask specifically to get 4000 grafts ? Or was it the clinic's suggestion ?
Did they elaborate a long term strategy and how about your total donor capacity ?
Anyways I wish you a happy recovery ! All the best
On a side note: Are you actually Kevin Mann, or just a KM fanboy?

The only thing more painful than a HT without anaesthesia is to sit and watch any of that guy's 'content'.

Hypertrophic scarring can occur. I would suggest to try a few test grafts, to see how you heal first, before committing to surgery.
I'd agree this sounds the best way, though I do wonder, are surgeons likely to do this? I can imagine most of them not wanting to waste their time with such smaller, lesser-paying procedures?
And if they ARE up for doing it, any idea as to how much it would cost...? -

God willing for another 30 years with a bit of luck! 😉 I'm going to grow my hair out for as long as possible. Maybe even for the whole 12 months and then make a decision? The crown is growing at a slower rate than the rest for sure but it is growing. I also commenced topical Minoxidil about 6 weeks ago so i want to see what that may do. Not just in terms of the crown but all over really. One thing I feel is that it may have caused a shed over the past couple of weeks. Then again it may just be the rate at which the grafts are deciding to grow on their own. Either way I will stick with Minoxidil over the long haul.
Mate, to see how far you have come is inspiring, and really makes me happy for you AND for future MPB sufferers, knowing what surgery is capable of nowadays.
Still a few months to go of course, but in the mean time i really recommend you try a skin fade cut.
Many guys seem to shy away from this style of haircut but i highly recommend you try it as it will take the bulk away from the sides and help the illusion of the top being wayyy thicker than it is.
Also, how is the finasteride going..? I seem to remember you had some sides from it, right?- 1

Because now youre just telling the world that you’re insecure.
I'll go against the grain here and say I don't entirely agree with what you're saying...
Sure, owning up and saying you had a HT surely shows you're confident enough to admit it / to 'own' it and don't mind all the questions. But that doesn't mean that you are NOT insecure about your looks simply because you admitted to getting work done....on the contrary, it shows that you absolutely WERE insecure about your looks....and hence had a HT.
Secondly, IMO, there is a very valid reason to keeping your HT a secret (if possible). One reason that i would choose to (try to) keep it a secret, if i get work done in the future, is because I simply get tired of people looking up at the high hairline when talking to me. It's a sh*tty feeling.
And to have friends and family know that I had a HT, I am pretty sure that they'd always be asking questions and that their eyes would occasionally be glancing up there, not out of disrespect of course - most likely out of curiosity - but would it would still annoy the hell out of me.
Don't get me wrong, I am not knocking people who are out in the open about getting work done, but i don't think it is right to imply that is always the best way to go about it.
Everyone is different.

Erdogan is obviously minted from all his expansion and increasing number of patients.
Seems that he has also lined the pockets of Joe Tilman recently for his promotional videos...- 3

Hi all,
Have just passed the 30 day mark (32 to be exact), so wanted to provide a brief update.
Continuing to shed and trying not to worry about it too much. Redness is still prominent and using Aloe Vera Oil sporadically; hoping the redness starts to die down, soon.
Please note that the pictures were taken after a day of me wearing a cap (which is the reason for the indentation line!), although it certainly looks possible that I have had a small amount of shock-loss. Here's hoping everything grows back!
As anticipated, I am currently living in a cap when outside the house and this will likely be the case until my hair is of a similar length to before the HT (so I can style it accordingly).
Still have numbness on the top of the head and a few pimples/spots in the donor are as well as mild itchiness all over, other than that, no discomfort.
Really can't wait to get to the 3/4 month mark where it will be easier to forget about the procedure and go back to how I was living pre HT. Once I hit that point I will hopefully just be able to enjoy letting the growth take place. Having hair this short makes it very difficult to not obsess, although I am doing my very best not too!
Pictures below, let me know your thoughts!
Many thanks.
It's looking amazing.
Would be really good to see the donor on a zero guard / high fade! -

Help!
I had a transplant and the doctor for some reason put hairs in between my hairline and it has comepletley ruined my hair.
It was growing out really well but everything must have fallen out as rather than getting better the hairline has got worse and now looks like stribg.
Really at a loss as to what to do
sorry to hear that, but we'd need to see some pics in order to help

I will never forget that one case from the Belicapelli forum of a guy who was a Norwood 7 and who went to Dr. Umar Sanusi in Los Angeles. He literally paid 150 000 USD and got around 30 000 body hair grafts transplanted....
Wow. Would love to see this if you have a link...?

The answer to this (with an elite surgeon) should be dictated by the patient's physiology and type of hair loss. I don't believe there is a right way. Today we know that the old school, traditional belief of a 'safe zone' isn't really true.
OK. I always figured the patient would have some say in this matter...? Perhaps not...

I'm sure both have their pros and cons. Just wondering which kind of extraction you prefer?
I see the extraction patterns of surgeons such as H+W / Bisanga, which seem more scattered.
Then I see other results, say, Eugenix for example, where the grafts seem to be taken more from the safe zone.
Personally, I prefer the scattered approach as it seems less visible.... with the potential downside being that the grafts may not be as DHT resistant...but, i still prefer the scattered approach as I like my hair short on the back.
Interested as to what you guys think!

Because the company that made it never applied for it to be FDA approved.
Also, FDA approval isn't the be all and end all. It's approved by Japan and i believe South Korea. Its used "off label" in the UK and other places.
It's funny to me how many people worldwide would seek to look at just the USA approval as a gold standard. Big Pharma has regularly been busted there for manipulated data and that includes Merk being in hot water for Finasteride with a lawsuit pending or underway for their original clinical trial data when they got approved.
Interesting. Valid point on looking to the US as a gold standard.
So what is the problem with Merk? -
Looks so good. Are you on finasteride?
You said that your hair is fine, but does it also have some wave to it? my hair incredibly thin and is also totally straight. Just trying to make a comparison for future reference -

He may. though he is technically no longer a 'working royal'

Another interesting point to go from here.....any guesses as to when the first royal will get a HT?
William was supposedly told to not trim down too far as it is... 'not the royal way', so image is certainly important to them.
But I do wonder when it will be acceptable to 'top up ones hair' so to speak.... -
Interesting! Good observation.
And good job on not mentioning his half-brother Harry. * conspiratorial wink wink * 😉- 1
