My procedure with Dr Diep was a long time ago and again, I'm only going by what I felt so I'm not sure if my interpretations are correct, but it felt like he was using a tool with multiple points on it to create many incisions at the same time.

Yikes. I'm all for efficiency but....such a tool sounds barbaric

Seems its often talked about as an age when people might consider a ht without meds, or that balding slows down after 35. Or that if your balding after 35 it's not aggressive.

I've read posts and blogs by hair surgeons stating that after 35 rapid balding is unusual. But is there any truth in this?

I mean I'm heading for 37 with most of my hair but I do have thinning, surely there's nothing stopping me going to nw 5, 6 or even 7 at a rapid pace.

    Thoughts?

would love to know an answer to this as im around the same age, but i honestly think there is no definitive answer to this, unfortunately

Imo having thick hair is overrated.

I have incredibly thick, coarse donor hair, and a lot of it curls.

People on this forum seem to love these characteristics,  but its really done me more harm than good.

My dream hair would be "medium" caliber, soft,  and straight.

I dont have an answer to your question, but I think your question highlights one of the reasons its super rare and difficult to get a one and done procedure. Its really hard getting phenomenal density in one go.

Great answer. Why has it done you more harm? I would have thought it could disguise lack of density at least in a HT....?

My hairs are so incredibly fine and straight, they're almost invisible when looking at a single strand.

I guess we always want what we can't have.

  4. I'm sure it requires less grafts to achieve a dense pack with THICK hairs, but is there any difference in the illusion of density when using THIN hairs...?

What i mean is, I know dense packing can be tricky as it depends on healthy grafts, good blood supply, etc. But I'm just wondering if it would be easier to do this with THIN hair grafts or more difficult to have them so close together for whatever reason...?

    Thanks!

Well, it has been a year, and as many people will say, 1 year is a great time to get an idea of what the final results are for a hair transplant.  I've updated my original thread once per month at least, and that thread has grown to 11 total pages, so it's quite hard to really go through in a time efficient manner.  This thread is to put everything into one place, the full progression, from day 1 to the final result.

Important information for those who want it:
Clinic:  Dr. Thiago Bianco Leal (Brazilian Clinic)
    Graft count:  3361 grafts
Hairs per graft :(average of 2.2)
    Density :(between 75-81 grafts/cm2)

Medication:  I didn't take any medication prior to the transplant.  After the transplant, I was on a unique cocktail of cialis/viagra/arginine/minoxidil (4 separate vasodilators).  My understanding is that this is the my doctor's go to approach for densities as high as mine, as we all know, it is assumed that grafts have to fight for blood flow, and at such high densities, there is risks involved (up to potentially necrosis).  This is one of the things my doctor does to get as much blood flow into the scalp as possible.

Also important to mention that I have no male patter balding, as I've had the same hairline for almost 20 years.  Putting this many grafts in such a small area makes sense in my case, but not for anyone who is actually losing hair.  Grafts are a limit resource, and if you will have more loss in the future, it is important to use them sparingly.

    Now, without further ado:

I wanted to make this thread for a while now, to have everything in one place, and also to have information such as the Dr. who did the procedure in the title, for easier search options for new and existing users.  I don't think there's much need to do any more picture updates after this, as after this point, I doubt there will be any changes, and I'm quite confident this is the final result.

Looks great, but could you also include pics of donor area also, as that is quite an important aspect of a HT

    Thanks!

    Thanks all.

I have a question to those who have had a hairline transplant.

I have a lot of curls where the newly hairs have been planted. Will these fade with time? Didn't have it before. But have had some curls in the back and side before.

    7 months post op today.

Edit: Used a little pomade wax in this picture.

    Skærmbillede 2022-09-12 kl. 16.35.07.png

    Also, OP, two questions:

    1. I absolutely love the result and considering Bisanga myself. How do you feel the angle of grafts are? Does the angle they were implanted perfectly match that of the existing hair?

    2. Could we please see a pic WITHOUT the wax, in its pure natural form..? Thanks!

I would say from the age of 25 my hairline started to recede. From the Age of 27 onwards, the wind started to become my enemy. I could only really style my hair by sweeping it over to the side, basically trying to hide my hairline. I started to look into hair transplants but always thought it would be ridiculously expensive. Having saying that, I would always look online and clock when someone famous would get a hair transplant, and think “wow they look good!”.

I got really lucky how I crossed paths with Dr Mani, it was through work. When I started talking to Dr Mani our conversation lead to my hairline and how a transplant could be more realistic than I originally thought.

Dr. Mani asked me to sit in the chair, he gave me his honest opinion, what would be involved and the price.

like anything, I always get another opinion. After speaking to other company, I thought to myself, Mani is the man. It felt more personal with Dr. Mani, he took more care in explaining the procedure and the end results.

I got myself booked in with Dr. Mani and was looking forward to the big day!

On the day of my hair transplant, I was nervous but that all changed as soon as I walked into Mani’s clinic. It’s a really calm experience, everyone’s cracking jokes and just bantering with each other.

I was in the chair for probably 7-8 hours. The team and Mani took the grafts from the back of my hair, using them to build my new hairline. Dr Mani is very particular and thorough in his work, even towards the end when some surgeons may be tired and just say “finished” Dr Mani kept going till he was happy with the final result. I was so happy with the results! Although this was only the start of the procedure, I was really excited for my new hairline.

Mani still stays in touch with me, I send him monthly photos of his masterpiece.

I can’t say though you enough but to Mani and the Team thank you!

I’m now 15 months post op, and loving my results!!

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to contact me.

Would be good to see some pics from month to month as that would give a clearer insight to the HT's growth :)

6 months and three weeks update.

Sorry for the sporadic updates. I very rarely think about hairloss anymore, which is a bliss.

Here are my updates. I concluded this summer that transplanted hairs also gets more blonde when I spend more time outside during summer :) .

Edit: Fresh from the barber at these pics.

Unfortunately, your camera has focused on the camera itself in the mirror, and we cant see Bisanga's quality work :(

Just a pointer for the next update that we are all looking forward to :)

To be fair I'm 26yo and I got a hair transplant to bring back my temples.
Didn't have any permanent shockless either.  It's in no way perfect but it's much better than the hairline I had before.

My hair is naturally thin too whereas @Savemyhairline looks to have thicker hair.  Just food for thought.

Disclosure: I was asked by Eugenix to sign a media release which I am quite flattered about. I do not know if they will eventually use my photos, but the opinions are my own. Reach out to me if you have any suggestions on things I should include

Package: Comprehensive package but was upgraded to exclusive package

Doctors: Dr Arika Bansal (Hairline) and Dr Somesh (Frontal scalp)

*Recipient slit making was performed by doctors. Extraction and implantation of graft preformed by Eugenix technicians

    Summary:

I went to Eugenix, New Delhi for a hair transplant of my frontal area. The surgery was initially meant to be on the 7th and 8th of August but it took an day due to my elevated blood pressure.

During the surgery, Both Dr Bansal and Dr Somesh did a amazing job with the planning and making of the slits in the frontal area and hairline.

The technician then took over with the extraction and implant ion phase of the surgery. As this portion was quite lengthy, I ran into some issues with pain management and communication. However, the staff listened to my feedback and made my entire experience positive.

I hope to not have to undergo another procedure but I would come back to Eugenix if given the chance.

    About me:

29 year old East Indian-Chinese mix who has male pattern hair loss from my paternal side.

In addition, during the surgery, I came to know that my scalp showed signs of scarring possibly from an undiagnosed seborrheic dematitis.

My hair loss journey started around the age of 23/24 and became worse in the last couple of years possibly due to stress and diet.

how did I find out about Eugenix?

I was initiatply think g of going to turkey for a hair transplant as I heard it was the global hair transplant centre.

My research found that the clinics had much variation and lack of transparency regarding the qualifications of the staff.

I felt that Eugenix had a more trusted reputation and clearly described the entire process and the staff involved.

    Hotel:

I was given a choice of 2 hotels for my 2 day complementary stay.

I opted to stay at the Hilton Doubletree at Baani Square which is less than 5 min car ride over to the clinic.

I am very pleased with the hotel as the staff were always warm and welcoming. As I eventually had to undergo 3 days of the procedure, the breakfast buffet spread took away much of the thinking required in the mornings. The buffet had good representation of continental and Indian food and I lost count of the amount of fresh watermelon juice I consumed.

    Summary:

I went to Eugenix, New Delhi for a hair transplant of my frontal area. I would regard myself as a novice in this area. I have tried minoxidil inconsistently in the past

During the surgery, Both Dr Bansal and Dr Somesh hinted that my hair loss could be attributed to scarification due to previous seborric dematitis, a condition I had been unaware of. In spite of that news, the doctors but me at great ease when I questioned the success of the procedure with the new development.

    The good:

    - The service of Eugenix is top class and well beyond my expectations. Throughout the day, I was offered drinks and

    - At Eugenix, there was no micro-economics. Even though I opted for the comprehensive (lowest) package, I was treated the same as all the other patients.

-Even though I was operated on by two doctors, I met most of not all the doctors present in the clinic. Even after the doctor portion was complete, the doctors still popped in to ensure that things were moving smoothly.

    - I appreciated that the Eugenix team was not transactional with their care. Even though my surgery took an extra day, I was not asked to pay more for the procedure.

    - I felt in control of many aspects of the surgery. The team worked around my water break, restroom and lunchtime.

    - I always had a Gatorade and bottle of water with my in the operating room.

    - They has a driver (Amit Kumar) who would pick me up and drop my back to the hotel everyday.

-I went to Eugenix for a post op dressing and check for my remaining time in India which made my recovery much easier.

    - Eugenix booked me at the Hilton Double Tree which was very comfortable.

    Things that can be improved:

-As someone who is not Hindi speaking, innocuous steps such as the spraying of saline took me by surprise. In addition, there were instances when There are 3 people working on my scalp which I would have not known if I did not ask what was happening in the moment.

→ I wish that some things were announced to me so that I wouldn’t get taken by suprise.

-It was at times hard to communicate to the staff in the operating room. Especially when they were working on my beard area, I could not talk or do large movements with my hand. Only in the later end of day 3 did Depika (Local anesthetia, nurse) and I were able to converse signs to express my pain level.

-The bed was on the shorter side for me. Whether it is cultural or due to spatial reasons, I was constantly nudged by passing staff. As I was in some discomfort, I found myself being more jumpy and more anxious about moving as the procedure went on.

    Day 1:

I arrived at the clinic around today 1.30pm which was a half an hour later than planned due to the rain (Some of the roads were flooded).

After some picture taking and some administrative work, the Depika my OT nurse did an test on the 2 local anesthetsia to be used for the procedure. I then met Dr Somesh who walked me through the agenda for the day. As my procedure would include 2 doctors, he explained to me what was going to happen.

Shortly after, Dr Anika Bansal did the planning of the hairline before pictures were taken again.
