  1. What length did you get your donor cut to here? Amazing progress mate!
  2. Thanks Melvin. I'll take your advice and contact a nearby clinic
  3. Thanks mate, I have booked the window seat at the far back of the plane lol so I can take my time getting off. I will probably go without a hat
  4. I'm trying to find old pictures of the back of my head, but one interesting thing I found is from when I was around 10. Take a look at my sides here It looks like maybe I've always had thin sides and that is the reason I don't think it is getting worse
  5. Hello, My surgery is booked for the 7th January and I will be flying back from Istanbul to the UK at 10:25am on the 9th January which is around a 4 hour flight I believe. The doctor has recommended 3000-3500 grafts I have a couple of questions 1) Will I be ok to drive from the airport to my house when I get back (2 hours) or should I arrange to be picked up? The doctor said that it should be ok so i'm trusting him but I have seen in rare cases the swelling can close your eyes! 2) What were your experiences travelling back 2 days after the operation in regards to people staring at your bloodied heads, and if you got any curious looks from the passengers around you on the plane etc. I'd like to wear a cap but I'm worried about damaging the grafts so I think I'll just have to accept some stares and unease from my neighbours on the plane lol. Thanks! I'll be sure to create a thread after the surgery
  6. I live in the north east of England. I'm yet to find a reputable surgeon near here the closest would be FARJO in Manchester, but I've seen a lot of stuff which makes me strongly question them. Here are some more photos to show what I'm working with. My sides are also thinning at the front and above the ear but that has been stable since I was 18 (7 years ago)

  8. No unfortunately I'm travelling to the surgeon so I'll have to see what he says when I arrive. From what I've read though he is an ethical doctor and he has seen the last photo in my original post and hasn't said anything. He recommended 3000-3500 grafts to cover the front and add density to the rest of the top but maybe he will suggest only doing the front and taking fewer grafts using only the thicker part of the donor or something. I will be seeing him in January and making a post here
  9. One grandad has quite low crown loss but not as deep as the thinning looks in my photos (dad's side). He's also 86 though, and had a fair amount of hair until after he turned 50 and it went downhill. The other grandad died in his 60's but at that time he had a reasonably thick NW6 with a high back and sides (mam's side). My dad is 52 and NW4 with a bit of diffuse thinning I'm just puzzled with mine as it gets thicker above the little thin patch. My hair has grown to a grade 3 on the back and it's unnoticeable now
  10. Looks promising! I am booked in with Dr Demirsoy in January. Do you have any photos of your donor area? Immediately after surgery and what it looks like now? Thanks!
  11. Hey guys, I've just signed up to this forum but I've been lurking here for a while and through the patient reviews I've decided on a doctor and booked my surgery for the 7th January :) I'm looking at pictures of my donor area and I'm worried about a thin patch in the middle, what do you think? August 2018 - Grade 1 shave. Note that this is when I stopped taking finasteride after 18 months and shaved my head January 2019 - I believe this is a grade 2 on the back and sides September 2019 - Grade 2. I started taking finasteride again in June 2019 Let me know what you think and if you think I have any reason to be worried about the outcome of the transplant. Thanks!
