  1. Is possible that you toss and turn a lot in your sleep? If so, maybe you could wear some sort of hair dressing when sleeping.
  2. Interesting question...I'm also curious to know if there is a treatment for such hair loss.
  3. Thanks for clarifying that??¦the only thing I have tried to alleviate the pain is cortisone injections??¦to no avail. If you ever discover any treatment that helps in this regard??¦please post, I will do the same of course!
  4. It looks like the skin has lifted from the scalp, leaving a soft raised lump.
  5. Severn Was there a reason for not removing the old scar tissue when excising the new strip, placement/not problematic? I too have a painful section of scarring that I believe is from an attempted tattooing procedure??¦maybe I'm wrong?
  6. I long for the day that I will be able to have my locks blowing in the wind??¦bloody hat.
  7. I've had a few procedures performed by Dr Knudsen with limited success and at a recent consultation his approach to my situation didn't inspire much confidence.
  8. I haven't seen Dr White personally, however I met with one of his consultants in Sydney who had an obvious transplant performed by Dr White. Post some pictures of your situation??¦it will give members a better idea of what you are dealing with. Scar5 Dr Richard Shiell !!! He was the catalyst to my downward spiral.
  9. I don't know how long you have been researching your options for hair restoration but from reading your post you need to do more. I believe you wont find a solution in Australia, the Dr's here don't inspire much confidence.
  10. What type of procedure are you having??¦who is your Dr? If you are working in a hospital under those bright lights I would be concerned with only a 2week window. Don't take this procedure lightly??¦I did and have been hat ridden ever since.
  11. omar77 Considering that you are shaving to 0 every week your only option would be to go with FUE and try to keep that all over defined shadow look.
  12. I've had 4 sessions of 500 grafts. I have had many procedures carried out prior to FUE with all the stretching and scarring my scalp has endured the thinning at the back of my head is not solely due to FUE. However noticeable thinning??¦in my case I would say yes when it is not washed, when it's clean and bouncy lol no. Virgin scalp and done correctly I believe there would be no noticeable thinning.
  13. I believe you have answered your own question "return" to the good Dr.
  14. From someone who has had multiple FUE sessions, the short answer is no. However, thinning of the donor area is a given by the nature of the extraction and if not done correctly may lead to a patchy looking donor.
  15. 16 years ago I had 3 reduction procedures, the main reason was to remove previous poor HT plugs (what were they thinking back then). I am left with a scar from my temples to the crown and with further hair loss has become increasingly difficult to hide. As the B-spot indicated it did stretch back but sometimes I wonder if was going to be a NW7 if I may have reduced it to a 6. lol
  16. Hi I'm from OZ! Knudsen? Nice guy and all however seemed a little out dated last time I consulted with him about a year ago. I've seen Dr Barry White's poster boy in person too! Spot his work a mile away (could be a work in progress i suppose).
  17. Hiarfreak, I can relate to your situation, I haven't been to a hairdresser for 18 years. There is no way I could sit in front of that big mirror with all those bright light lol. My mother cuts my hair and she is no hairdresser. Hopefully I can get a reasonable repair as I know one day I will have to sit in that chair.
  18. sparky! I had mini grafts removed from my hairline via FUE and then replaced with skin grafts taken from behind the ear. Maybe you could discuss this option with your Dr. Upon close inspection there are no white dots, unfortunately however, the original slits from the mini grafts still are.
  19. Apparently beard hair is right up there with the scalp growth cycle.
  20. FUE Possible strip however would leave an exposed scar.
  21. Advertising to draw attention to the HT online community in general would do wonders for people thinking of having a procedure done, good point. Not to discredit the Doctors advertising in these publications, but more so, to make patients aware of what to expect from a HT.
  22. Hey Rise, thanks for posting your experience, it's always nice to know the cost as well. Look forward to updates!
  23. JJ, Thank you. The plug work wasn't done via strip, but with a punch instrument, which resulted in my donor area being filled with circular scars. This didn't affect the elasticity of my scalp, which happens to be quite good. This allowed for the 3 strips. The strip, due to the scaring, yielded far less grafts. In my opinion, if my scalp had been untouched, the strips would have yielded 50% more. UNC Thanks for clarifying that.
  24. I have seen excellent results from India posted on other websites.
  25. Fantastic transformation! How did the good doctor manage to do three strips from your already depleted donor? Without any visible scaring, that's amazing! Congratulations!
