  1. Hello, Posted a few months ago that i was on the waiting list for Dr Freitas and the surgery was scheduled for July 2020, that is how long the waiting list is. However, i put myself on the emergency waiting list and i have now got a date in just over one months time, so i am very excited. I will post before and after pictures of his results, but i wanted to ask probably some obvious questions to members on this forum, i would be incredibly grateful for those who can answer. 1. How long before you can start using minoxidil after surgery? 2. When can i go back to doing exercise/ going to the gym? 3. Is there any tips/anything i should know before the surgery that people wish they knew before having a HT? Thanks for any help. Adam
  2. Hello Everyone, Great topic this and fits into my situation perfectly, i am on the waiting list for Mr freitas in Spain and i was to be on propecia for a year in the build up to surgery. I had been on it 8 months before i got constant ball ache at 1mg every day. I didnt really see any results on my hairline and temple area at all which is where i have been going from an NW2 towards NW3 in a few years time. I have since discontinued because it is not worth being woken up in the middle of the night with stinging ball pains that feel like shocks. So in that sense i am more inclined to go towards Nizoral and minoxidil twice a day. What is the feedback from RU58841? - i have used this for 6 months once a day, but again didnt see a progression. It looks like i will go down the road of others on here in topping up with hairtransplants as the years go on unless something doesn't come along.
  3. Much appreciated, i think over derma rolling and putting minox on your head can make your scalp flaky and irritable. I will only derm 3 times a week.
  4. I am currently on a very long waiting list, i was told 18 months, i am 2 months into this, but i also put myself on the emergency list, so they said there is a very good chance i will be called at short notice by the end of the year. I rate him highly to, my first choice, i am a NW2 going to NW3 over time and his hairline work and temple is outstanding.
  5. Hi Shifty, i am very happy for your story, the results are fantastic, i was on fin for 8 months and didnt get those results, some respond some dont, but more importantly, the side and ball ache was too much for me to put up with, i will stick with RU58841 mixed with minoxidil, derma rollar and nizoral 2% for 6 months and see how i go. I also take biotin. I derma roller every day for the minoxidil, due think this is needed, or would you recommend putting it on after showering?
  6. I agree, i think 5mg DUT is very aggressive, i got sides by taking DUT for just a month and will never take it again, i do not believe the side effect percentage, i think its far more than people believe but less than 50%, i have seen far to many people complaining over the years for it to be just 15% of patients or under.
  7. Hi Spex, thanks for the response, i am currently using nizoral 2%. I will look in your shampoo, i am not really interested in regrowing hair right now, anything to slow the process down or maintain will be great. I was about to say, the sides i got from taking DUT for a week were horrible, i couldnt sleep, terrible headaches, i honestly wouldnt alow my body to touch DUT but i can understand if it works for someone else. I never got ball ache before, but it doesnt seem to be going away for me sadly.
  8. Hello, I am due to have a hair transplant with Dr freitas at the end of the year and i had been on propecia for 9 months until i started getting horrible ball ache pains which used to wake me up from my sleep. Most transplant companies always ask you to take propecia but i have resorted to RU58841/minoxidil and derma rolling. I just wanted to know what other people are taking or doing in combination and if they had to drop any medication due to side effects? Thanks Adam
  9. Hello! I just booked mine as well for June 2020 but i also asked to be put on short notice waiting list, so hopefully i will get called before the end of the year. It is a long time to wait. Like yourself, very impressed by the research i have seen and their reputation. Its funny how asmed only has a 4 month waiting list compared.... I was very surprised with the price, compared to what some people are charging in the UK for example, which is almost double with less of a reputation.
  10. Thanks for the feedback, i wanted value for money and even if i had to travel for the right surgeon, i am from the UK. His results on the hairline and temples is very good. Hopefully i can have a positive result. I have dark thick hair, so hopefully that might help. I will post the results on here. Thanks for the feedback.
  11. I haven't received one yet, i just have agreed to go on the waiting list, waiting list is 12 months apparently, but they can call you sooner if you are flexible with time.
  12. Hi Fozzie, this is what they said below.... The surgery strategy consists on repopulating the frontal and and the receding line with the extraction of 1.400 hair follicles (2.800 hairs approximately) in one day of procedure.
  13. Hello everyone.... Dr Freitas is my top choice, despite the waiting list, asmed are a close second. I was just received a quote of 2800 hairs for 4,500 euros. I was expecting the quote to be more, some people in london for example (where i am from) are quoting twice this price for the same hair amount. Could anyone give me any guidance for prices etc. Sorry i am new to this. I do rate Dr Freitas work highly. Thanks for any help. Good luck all Adam
  14. I agree with your way of thinking, that is why i am desperately trying to halt the hairloss, i doubt i will get any regrowth from he current medication, i just want to halt everything, i am only into month 5 of propecia, monoxidil and RU55841. So i am hoping by 12 months i iwll see a halt to it permanently, but we will see. Otherwise i might have to lose some more before i can get one, which is not my first choice but i understand the issue behind it. Thanks for the information and your opinion. I do not know how the medication works for others...have many people being successful at halting hairloss with medication?
  15. Haha, yes, the three most admired fans i respect in the country are Everton, Newcastle and Leeds. There is loyalty and then there are these fans. I look forward to the day when Leeds take their rightful place back in the premier league, hopefully it will be this season. I am not too stressed about fulham, we probably are a championship club in terms of size, its more sadness that stress, we have brought terribly and there are big issues behind the scenes which have caused our downfall, but going up at wembley last season and being there will never be topped. Thanks for your opinion, the only way i will get a transplant soon is if i can stop the hairloss in its track. I am currently on 1mg of propecia a day, 5% RU58841 once a day with minoxidil. I am in month 5 of this routine now, i am hoping by the summer of this year i will see some progress. But i agree with the statement below that if you cannot stop you hairloss you will look silly, as it will continue further back.
  16. Thanks for the link, i am from the UK - London to be exact, but have always like the look of asmed. I wish there was someone with their quality in the UK.
  17. Thanks for the advice, i actually do not tie my hair up with any bun, it shows off the hairline/ high temple loss and its not a good look, i only did this as you can truly see my hairline in this style, i will stick with the meds for another few months and see what happens. Thanks.
  18. Thank you for your advice, which surgeons in europe for the future would you recommend i check out, i just want to keep a list.
  19. Thank you for the response, in the years to come would you recommend asmed as a solid choice to start from? Mnay thanks
  20. Yes, it is proving a stressful time, but i dont think its all doom and gloom just yet, its 3 of 5 to go down. Regarding asmed, is their reputation justified? I know their will be bad results for every clinic that are out of surgeons hands, but is asmed a solid choice to consider in the future? Many thanks and i hope liverpool do win the league this year.

  22. Hello everyone, thanks for your opinions and the advice. I do agree with this to an extent, i think some people want that perfect hairline that you can tell doesn't suit their face and doesn't look natural. I wont make that mistake if i eventually do get a transplant, i will not be tempted into further down means better. I will show you a better picture on the side that is alot worse than the other without the wetness. It is cutting back quite a bit in my temple region, that hair is thinning or shedding currently. I i will give all the medications another 6 months, as i know they can take quite a while to work for many people, sometimes even longer than a year. Just put some pictures up. Might be able to see the hairloss in the temples better, once that weak hair that has been combed down sheds, then i might do something.
  23. Hello, Long story, started losing my hair on my hairline and temples when i was 19, i am now 31. I have been on propecia (1mg), nizoral 2% and RU58441 for 5 months now. I am looking to restore my temples and hairline, i would like any advice on potential surgeons that have a good record in this area. I am from the UK - so looking in Europe. Pictures below are with wet hair, trying to get a picture of where i am. Thank you for any help or advice, Adam
