do you think PRP for the texture you would have to keep taking it like for hairloss, as what i am trying to achieve is just improve the texture and strength of the hair.

But almost all my transplanted hairs are like this, i highly doubt someone of dr de freitas reputation and skill would have done this, i will speak further with the cinic next week about it and what you said.

That is what the de freitas team said to me, although im sure there has to be a ways to strengthen the hair texture, apart from using products like hair masks or bond smoothers for hair, that is why i was thinking PRP but apparently that is ineffective.

Hi Melvin, good to hear and see you again, i am trying stuff like olaplex 6 and 7, like bonding smoother and oils, plus hair masks conditioners, they do improve the situation, but i am wondering if i can take anything to improve the hairs texture and strength? - not sure taking minoxidil would but i might need to get on it, already taking propecia. How is everything with yourself and your journey regarldess?

It is for sure the transplanted hairs that are like this and yes i take propecia, i was taking minoxidil for a year after the surgery and before but stopped due to hair getting to long, its so annoying to apply when hair is long, makes it sticky and impossibly to get to scalp unless you use something very thin. Funnily you mentioned the hair cut, the hairdresser said the hair at the back of your head is different to the font, so it is defiently the transplanted hairs. I did take 3/4 inches off my hair, so maybe i just get it cut more regulary to see if it improves the situation.

I am using some hydration masks which do help a little bit and some products like bonding smoothers, has there been any evidence that minoxidil help change the texture of the graft and improves the hairs strength, i was taking minoxidil - not oral, for a good year and a half post surgery, but stopped after my hair grew to long, just get messy and sticky and in the way. I will ask the de freitas team to see if minoxidil would help the graft. I am from the UK, do you need a prescription for oral minoxidil or can you get online? Thanks for your help.

Hello, I am the person, looking for some advice and some help. I am the person in this thread - I am been talking to the @De Freitas Clinic about the hair follicles taking a very wired appearance compared to my naturally wavy hair type. You can see by the pictures below to what i am alluding too? I have some questions if anyone could possibly answer. Toy can tell which is my natural hair and the transplanted hair, i was speaking to the hairdresser and they did comment your hair at the front is completely different to the rest of your head. Is there anything i can do about this, the clinic said that this "this is completely Normal for implanted hair to have a different texture, you can use conditioners or masks to improve this appearance (which i have been doing), also it is vital to continue pharmaceutical treatment - minoxidil and propecia" - i do not do minoxidil as my hair is to long for that now. So, does anyone think using PRP treatment or anything to help strengthen the hair further to develop naturally? - i was wonder if anyone had any ideas or if anyone wants to discuss feel free below. I dont want to sound petty, i know i have had a very good result, but i just wanted more knowledge about the transplanted hair texture and how to improve it. Thanks for any help. Adam

Thank you for your comments, as i have said in the past, i am very lucky, mainly because of the hair i have, my hair naturally is incredibly thick. I think at the start of my thread i gave the sheet used of the information, i honestly wouldn't know how to advise you on your question, rather than give false information. Alot can come down to surgeon technique for example, i chose De Freitas because of the hairlines i have seen and he works with similar thicker hair in spain like mine. I would gain knowledge from your surgeon about technique and other things and ask more advanced forum members their thoughts. I hope your transplant goes well for you.

18 months, pictures taken today

Hello, Sorry for the delay, we are just over 18 months now and wanted to give final pictures and result, also i managed to find some much better original pictures with excellant quality thanks to the De Freitas clinic. Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped me out on this forum when i arrived two years ago, losing my hair slowly since i was 18 has bothered me like im sure it has bothered you, i do accept i am extremely lucky to have the result i got and obviously vouch for the expertise of Dr De Freitas. I hope his clinic read this final update @De Freitas Clinic, i did promise you i would post one, look forward to seeing them later this summer. Sorry for the late response, will do some pictures this week

The design is just something i have to get use to, i might do some update pictures in a few weeks. Some of the hairs are still wirey which i am unsure about as well. Not sure if that is normal or not if anyone can answer that. I guess my hairline was more flat and this is a little pointed towards the front, i will talk to de freitas about it, but these are little things, overall i am very happy with the result and quite lucky.

Hi @BjornBorg, i know its crazy its been 10 months, overall very good, i will do a twelve month update when the day comes as my final picture post. Overall very happy, the hairlines hairs are still a touch wirey in some areas, but it is changing now, some are maturing quicker than others, but i think the next 3-4 months will see the finally completion of everything, really happy with the results overall, still debating weather to change the hairline design potentially going forward, it is something i have to get use to, de freitas as you can tell by his youtube pictures as his own specific hairline design that he does. I saw there insta as well, they have reopened it looks like, just might be a backlog, so i suggest you contact them to still confirm your date.... I am ok overall, i am battling some health condition that i have to have alot of surgery for and i even have to go to ukraine, kyiv of all places for stemcells from August this year, but apart from that i am good, good choice with de freitas, have you started minox and fin?

Just a question regarding maturity in the transplanted hairs. It has been 9 months since i got my HT, but the transplanted hair are still on the wirey side and are alot different to my other hair, they say maturity can take up to 18 months, which i hope is the case as they still feel very wirey and weak. If anyone can pass over some knowledge or experience i would be grateful. Thanks.

I think so, it was 18 months when i joined, but i did put myself on emergency which made me ending up only waiting 6 months i think.
