  1. Month 2 Update Current Regime: - Finesteride - 1mg per day - Minoxidil foam - twice a day - Derma roller once a day 0.5 - apply minoxidil after. - Hot water on head twice a day and apply minoxidil after to open the paws in the skin. - Vitamin supplements - Biotin, vitamin D, vitamin b complex, saw palmetto, and vitamin b12. I have been prescribed duterstride, but i am holding off for now, hopefully i will be able to maintain what i have with this regime and thicken the hair, so i will see if i add this in 6 months time. I am hoping the derma rolling will make a big difference, i did some research and it is very beneficial if you stick with it long term. My hair has thickened up in the last month, i still have some shock loss scattered around the back of the head and down the middle of my scalp, hopefully this will improve in the next few months. Not in the nicest of stages right now, but i did get an unexpected surprise when i zoomed in on the pictures i took this morning outside, i know noticed lots of white new hairs and other small hairs coming through for the first time, brought a huge smile to my face, as anyone knows it can be a waiting game and you check every day even in the first 3 months where not much happens for alot of us, unless you are a fast grower. The sides are taking their time, but i do see alot of white hairs coming through now. Should be an interesting month 3. I will watch my crown very closely in the next 3 months to see if i do need to take DUT, but i think in the next 3-6 months it will look alot thicker.
  2. They also prescribed me Dut as well twice a week, but i am a little cautious of taking it, i want to see how i get on with this first, what are your thoughts on Dut? - some have sides and some people do not.
  3. Hello Rolandas, I had my hair transplant with dr freitas in July and i am one and a half months into derma rolling every day with minoxidil foam twice a day, i am also taking fin once a day and nizoral 3 times a week. A good idea also is to wash your head in hot water before derma rolling or applying, minoxidil, it open the paws in the scalp, makes absoring alot easier. I also added saw palmetto recently as well, seems to be some evidence regarding stopping DHT or at least helping to stop it. Keep posting please, i will follow this closely. Thanks for the thread.
  4. I spoke to his assistant today and she says that dr Freitas preservers every donar area he works with in case more work is needed down the line, Dr Freitas suggested during surgery i might need 400 more to make it look perfect, but i will hit that road when i come to it. He is on holiday until September, i will do some pictures at 2 months on the 10th September.
  5. Hi sorry, i have been so busy recently, apologies, im not the most knowledgeable when it comes to stuff like this, not trying to avoid the question, just been honest, i will ask laura = the assistant to dr de freitas and see what she says. As soon as i get an answer i will message back. They took alot of hair from the sides, i had alot of dense three graft hairs but not many single grafts so i think they had to go to the sides. I can also see where some of the donar hairs have come from and im hoping they will grow back over time.
  6. Its a bit strange, i also tried to cut the hair myself😅...which i think has altered the length in some areas and some hair so its looks strange and deceptive. I have been asked to take fin, rogaine foam twice a day, nizoral. Also taking something called oh-flutmaide. We will see, you could be right, could be shock loss and i had two surgeries in just over a month which is not good for my hair, plus my sleep hasn't been good for a while. I know fin and minoxidil take 3-12 months to kick in so we will see. They wanted me to go on dut as well but im not sure about that, some bad side effects with that. Im ok on fin, i think i have lost 15% of wood though permanently from using it way in the past but other than that i am ok.
  7. Could i ask people if i am thinning or if ita just the light. I really think i am but i havent had my hair this short in years. I have just staryed using fin minoxidil nizoral and something called oh flut to help this. Just wanted peoples opinion.
  8. Thanks @BjornBorg much appreciated. Heading into the "ugly duckling" phase now. Alot of hair have already fallen out. Look foward to 2 months time.
  9. Thanks for the feedback and the compliment, i will send a message to the person tomorrow. I am also curious of this. Does anyone know if i can use topic in my hair yet, im not sure if i can? - The new transplant hairs are not as thick as my normal hair yet - does this process happen over time? When the transplant hair falls out and grows back, there is not a huge difference, but noticeable if you look closely....
  10. I dont mind it, i think it depends on my shedding. but i dont mind keeping it short for a few months, until the hairs start coming through. I have to assume he went to one of the top surgeons in spain. Could have been freitas actually because silva is from valencia i think.
  11. I am very lucky that i have the hair that i have, thats one of the reason why i got an HT, Dr Freitas explained to me that the differences of results due to quality of hair is enormous, the technician who extracted from the donar also made the comment that i had the opposite problem to everyone else in terms of 3/4 hair graft numbers - i had loads, and not many single hair grafts, which they found funny. She its quite rare. I will go through the shedding phase i think in 1-2 weeks time, the start of it at least and hopefully in the next 6-9 months i will have some great results. I will probably update every months, i think for now i i will keep my hair short, like david silva haha, its easier to use the minoxidil as well. If Dr Freitas has taken you on, then he must be believe he can get a good result with you, so i would be positive. Your right about the ponytail, i like my hair tied back as well, but the loss of the hairline and temples made my hairloss stand out so i didnt do it anymore. But its not good for the hair.
  12. My hair has always been long, it hasnt been this short in a decade...haha...so it was very strange when they shaved everything off, it was quite long, near shoulder length when they cut it, all i have is this picture, which gives you an indication. Both are wet hair
  13. Day 11 post operation -scabs 80% gone -still some redness underneath Hairline looks great even under intense light.
  14. I only got this one picture i think, i didnt have anyone with me and i was a bit out of it. I stayed in spain for 2 days, day before surgery and day of surgery and went home the next day. I did not go back for washing, the first wash i did the evening of surgery and it was agony. Since the first day it has been much easier and less painful, everything is turning to scabs right now and the swelling on my eyes and face is going down thankfully
  15. I think the extraction of donar was 2030 from this below. Implamentation was 2600.
  16. Had the surgery, update with pictures 3 days post op in results section
  17. Hello, I wanted to tell you a little about my experience with Dr Freitas In Valencia, Spain, i was meant to have surgery in August next year but fortunately there was a cancellation a month ago and i jumped at the chance, the waiting list i have been told is nearing two years. I was a little nervous as i had not had a HT before but i was made to feel very welcome and relaxed by the staff, Dr Freitas was very friendly, in particular Miss Viviana, who helped enormously - i am 3 days currently post operation. I have been losing hair since i was 19 (now 32) at a slow rate, not as a aggressive as most, but still constantly losing it, sadly i have had many stresses and other surgeries in my life which impacted my health and led to further hairloss, i was a NW2 going towards NW3 over the next few years, mainly losing in my temples and hairline, one side was worse than the other, the crown has no hairloss. I had gone on propecia, minoxidil and Nizoral to hault the hairloss in the last year. We wanted to go for a natural hairline, at first we lowered it too much and we both agreed it doesn't look natural, alot of patients i think want their hairline lower than they probably should, but we both agreed that the one shown below was probably best and i was very happy with it after surgery. When his assistant technical began extracting the donor hair, she said i had excellent donar hair and it makes an enormous difference in outcome, she said it was one of the best she has seen this year, i knew my hair was naturally very thick and Dr Freitas said that i have the opposite problem to alot of people, i have alot of 3 and 4 hair grafts and not many 1 or 2's. One of the reasons why i did choose Dr Freitas is that spanish people naturally have thicker darker hair and i thought my hair would be ideal, considering his experience. I arrived at 8.30 am and didnt leave until 8.30pm, my body always struggles during surgery so i was relieved when it was over. Both Dr Freitas and the technician thought i would get a good result, so i am very excited. Grafts: 1 - 613 2 - 943 3 - 1057 4 - 27 I know some people will say - "you didnt need to do it etc etc" - but i wanted to do something that was going to make me happy as it had been an issue of mine and stress going back years, though i do understand why people would say - " you should have waited" - but i want to keep it positive. Im not an expert in knowledge but i will try to answer as many questions as below as possible. Photos below are 3 days post op.
  18. Thanks for the feedback, it looks like 2 weeks for the gym and yes minoxidil is to wait for a little bit, usually a week i think. I will post pictures and keep a thread after surgery.
  19. It will be a FUE. This is just some of Dr Freitas work, luckily there are a number to see, i am in the NW2 catagory, i started losing my hair when i was 20, but my hair is dark brown and very thick, so the hairloss has been quite slow but constant in the last 12 years. I have a link for the photos of dr freitas here...i think his work is exceptional. https://www.clinicadefreitas.com/tratamientos/trasplante-capilar-fue/casos-reales/fotos/
  20. Very excited, i will report and do before and after photos, lots of them. I have heard and seen many great results from Dr Freitas work, so i am very hopeful.
