Hi Dr.Konior,
Great work! just wondering how many grafts were placed in the crown area?
yeah I was wondering on the graft split as well between the two procedures. also if there is an estimate on how many grafts the patient has left for FUE in the future
-
Chances are they are ok but if its going to cause you anxiety and repetitive thoughts might as well just be safe and buy it from your nearby pharmacy/grocery store.
-
did the doctor tell you what punch size was used on the artas for your procedure?

What I was getting at was trying to see the punch size and the pattern of harvesting at the donor, so post procedure but without bandaging is what I meant. You may not have these pics.
Or you could have just said “immediately post op”

Melvin thanks for sharing all these details regarding your transplant. There isn’t info like this anywhere else since it’s mainly marketing to get patients in the chair! You’re doing potential patients a great service by serving up some reality
huge transformation. Why’d you switch away from the pomp? Am I getting to old to realize it’s going out of style?

Short on the sides yes, but why would you bother having surgery if you plan to buzz the top?
Buzz cut looks good sometimes? Its nice to have the option especially during the summer

No one’s ever said anything to me, including barbers. I would never buzz my head again. That’s why I got the transplants, to avoid buzzing.
I mean part of the reason to get FUE is to have the option to wear your hair short when/if needed no?
-
Great video Melvin, you pull it off really well
ive developed an eye for donor fue scars that 99% of the normal public can’t recognize. I believe you had .9 and 1.0mm punches right? Has anyone ever noted the scarring including barbers? You ever try to buzz your whole head to see how it would look with the donor?

Just gotta be patient my man!

Actually that’s a little bit similar lol 😂
lonely graft has got one of them eagle eye
thanks stevo for leaving some feedbacks on my thread. I also have been following your thread and I just want to thank you for your opinion... I think we will end up with similar hair styles ... god damn it I wish the crown was covered up a bit more ... as I didn’t think they really worked on my crown as much as I wanted
o
Hope @Steeeve’s acting’s career doesn’t go in the same direction as Frankie Muniz!

Your donor looks quite dense and the hair is coarse. What punch size was used?
-
From your last sentence it sounds like you want to try and add more density to the front and maybe try to keep a short hairstyle?
in that case I would consult with some of the top names to get an idea of what your donor capacity is and express your goals. If you have enough, I would go and do fue to rebuild the frontal third at the minimum. I would also save some grafts or bht from
beard to try and fill in the fut scar. You can also try smp for the fut but make sure to give it some time as I’ve heard sometimes it doesn’t hold as long in fut scars. You could also add smp to the top once you implant the max number of grafts you have.
treatment with finasteride could likely help you With retaining your native hair so this is important
please dont rush into anything and take your time in deciding what to do. Good luck and ask as many Questions as you can.

Low androgen activities and high cardiovascular health. It's a big topic.
I’m still not sure what you mean. Are you implying that lots of cardio decreases androgen levels? How can any of what you’re describing help his transplant?

Don't jump the gun -- I've seen results that started like this that ended up beautifully. Be patient, get on meds if you can, keep a healthy lifestyle, try not to look into the mirror too much.
Some users have suggested an infrared cap might also help, though I'm not sure about this.
Please define “healthy lifestyle” and how it would help this patient

Thanks for your insight and for sharing your experience!
I would say the transplanted hairs are growing at a reasonable pace considering it’s only been a month, but definitely slightly slower than the donor sites (which I suppose makes sense!)
It’ll be interesting to see what happens in the next month!
did you get 3500 grafts? I think i missed the final graft count
-
its looking pretty good. seems like youve held onto a decent amount of the grafts. I remember shedding still continued til maybe 1.5 to 2 months but it hit hard around 2.5-3 weeks and began to taper. If the transplanted hairs are gaining length as fast as the natives then you're in for some fun times ahead. If they are kind of stagnant, then I would vigorously but carefully try to massage them and they might end up coming out.
-
looking on track. How do they decide which of the 3-4 doctors do the extraction and implantation? How does the design process work? I've heard they have a team input approach to the design.
-
Possibly a scar revision with grafts added in the needed areas? I’m no expert on repair work. Who was the surgeon?
-
Interesting post. I’ve never heard this phenomenon before.
ive read various studies that show at any time 10-15% of hairs are in telogen phase. Where does dr arika get the 20% average number from?

From my late teens until maybe age 40 there was no way I could get away with not washing my hair every day. The sebum buildup was so bad that I even had to wash it twice a day in my 20s because it got so greasy and gunky just a few hours after washing. It seems easy to prove that the sebum buildup is not due to washing too much. Just look at your beard hair and in some men chest hair as well. These areas are being washed daily and yet no sebum buildup, so that's obviously not the issue. Now that I have over 4600 body grafts on my head I can feel the difference in the greasiness factor. I can get away with washing less now if I wanted to.
4600 body hair grafts? Please share your story/pics

Yes that’s all true. It definitely took a while on my first procedure. But the extraction part on the second and third seemed quick. I did take notice the time difference.
so did he use a motorized waw for your second and third?

The crown looks like it is starting to thin slightly, just because your father doesn't have hair loss doesn't mean you wont. My father is 63 and he has a full head of hair with minor recession, and my brother 43 has a full head of hair, now me on the other hand I went bald by 30. I didn't follow my fathers pattern. Unfortunately, I followed my dad's uncle, who would be my grand-uncle. That's why I always tell guys that judging your hair loss by immediate family is a risky proposition.
Melvin, are you mexican? Some of my darker skinned mexican friends have insane hair.
-
@Guy73 I heard nader used to use a manual punch. Did he use one for your first 3000+ graft surgery? That's a whole lot of work for one person to do including the implanting.
I heard hes since moved on the motorized WAW system. True?
Looking for advice, which of these FUE surgeons would you choose?

his patient advisor was a tard
second, it seems like he keeps turning away patients for "miniaturized donor" after extracting over 100 grafts. That makes no sense to me. Why cant he see this under dermalite photos? I know a patient that got turned away for this exact reason. He went and saw a reputable clinic in turkey and they looked at some of his grafts and donor and said there was no issue. They performed surgery on him and told him they don't know why the surgery was aborted. Personally, I think hes shooing off patients where he know it wont be a homerun in order to make a reputation for himself.
oh, and lastly, many have stated on other forums the patient advisor has had negative reviews removed. They apparently tried to do the same here. A clinic that tries to censor has no place on this forum.
