Perhaps an explanation to this absence would silence the forum.

I agree with all of the above ,just to say it annoys the hell out of me when a patient voices their concerns about a result lets say at 6 months and posters demand to know the Doc's name ,the concerned patient has to think of himself first and work out the best way to move forward with clinic to resolve any issues ,of course the best course of action is to speak with the clinic first but sometimes a patient wants advice on here as well , at 12 months if a unhappy patient hasn't been treated correctly by the clinic and has sent photos to them etc, then it is a different matter ,but we have all seen on this site patients being trigger happy way before the final result is apparent .
We’re all generalising here but the issue could be a strip that resembles a train track that doesn’t need 12 months to figure out it’s unacceptable.

not discrediting anything you're saying, but to play devil's advocate, i feel like this would be an easier consideration and concept for ppl to understand if top-tier surgeons (not going to name names) didn't post ONLY perfect results on their sites or in these forums. obviously everyone has different degrees on hairloss and some cases are better than others, as everyone has a different experience, but i do believe that if someone goes "oh look at ALL of these fantastic results, this could be me!", and then it doesn't turn out that way, then i kinda think that it borders on being misled. sorry if this is a jumbled thought, i'm trying to type this while watching true detective lol.
Fair response & you’re absolutely right. Many times ‘top tier & and perhaps many surgeons selectively forget to note it has taken more than one attempt to achieve satisfactory results. However I for one believe it’ll take more than one surgical visit to get where you want to be, as in life it’s a contant battle to achieve satisfaction. But as you say it builds false hopes for the naive.

I stopped taking Fin at the endocrinologist’s advice and oh what a change. It’s only been a few days but the difference in libido, firmness of erections, quality of orgasams and mood is very noticeable.
Anybody who says Fin sides aren’t real doesn’t know what he’s talking about.
I’m not going back there...
My doctor recommended cutting Proscar 5mg into quarters taking a quarter tablet every Monday, Wednesday & Friday. Giving the body a rest on Saturday & Sunday. He has already had a HT and follows his own advice. Not knowing you medication intake it’s just a thought.

Yeah, wasn't trying to be a smartass, just thought the pic was funny.
Although Dr. Diep never called me personally, his clinic responded saying that the harvesting from one side is to limit scar tissue making future extractions more likely to be successful.
I'm not 100% happy with this as I wasn't necessarily planning on having another procedure (at least not in the next 5-10 years). I've been holding my native hair on finasteride for over 5 years so I don't think this is too aggressive of an assumption. That, coupled with new treatments in the pipeline (histogen, cloning, etc.), makes me think another procedure isn't necessarily a given.
That being said, it is what it is at this point. Dr. Diep has been producing homerun results for years now so I'm trying to just focus on what I can control (i.e., following post-op instructions, good nutrition, avoid sunburn, etc.).
Could you either post a link to your thread ITT or PM me a link? Would be interested in following it. Best of luck with your upcoming procedure Raker!
BLM, appreciate the humor, at times there’s little enough on the site. No problem posting my journey probably be in at least a couple of weeks after the surgery when I’m in receipt of all the pics & data etc. The strange thing is in preparation of the surgery I had the hairdresser shave most of my head and it didn’t look as bad as I expected, strange old world. Cheers

Either way it’s down to the skill of the surgeon, focus on the services the clinic provide and the end result.

Appreciate the response BLM, unless i’ve missed something Diep hasn’t responded you your original question as why exhaust one side of the head for donor. I’m due for a HT next week (not with Diep) and is it something I should be requesting because i fail to understand the thought process beyond it. Anyway, good luck on your journey & don’t be letting the girls pull at your new hair in a moment of passion!!

I would seriously consider Rahal for your next surgery, producing some fantastic results. Good luck on your journey.

You should submit the doctors name but also respect that he or she is entitled to put their case forward to provide a balanced version of events for the forum to form their opinion. It’s only fair that we have a level playing field.

Refund & grow your hair out in the hope that in time it will fade.

Most likely makes it easier from a surgical standpoint to know where to harvest next.
That’s assuming you require additional surgery, not convinced.

Can somebody explain the rationale of using only one side of the head for donor?

Another great result by Rahal.

Here we go again!!

My understanding is alcohol two weeks prior to surgery & two weeks post surgery should be avoided as it thins the blood and can prolong the healing process. However, I don’t think the odd glas of wine or beer is going to impact on the overall result. As with most things in life, use a bit of common sense & everything in moderation.

Keep saving and run with Keser very impressive results, you get one shot at this.

The reality is that perfect density in a single pass (to a level that's completely satisfying aesthetically to you, and as dense as surgically possible) rarely occurs. Every patient in my opinion should budget for and choose a surgeon they can afford for multiple procedures, not just the one and done.
In terms of cosmetic improvement over what you previously had, it's no doubt huge. Can't really be too disappointed with it, probably feels a little worse seeing as you've been through procedures so many times now but to any person off the street they'd have no idea you'd had work done.
The reality is not that everybody has the funding to look beyond their first surgery & not every surgeon (recommended on this website) advises that further surgery is a requirement, false hopes comes to mind. Thats life.

Not convinced about the hairline but if the recipient is that’s all that matters.
-
You must feel if you’ve been taken advantage of, cheated & mislead. The challenge of litigation & the reality of a refund is unlikely but if you dont ask you don’t get. I would certainly change surgeons should you decide on further surgery. Good luck in your quest for resolution.

Available online in the UK in 5mg tablet form, split into four and take 1/4 tablet every other day.

Yeah this is true too, some do seem to get a thicker beard from it though but I also assume it's great marketing for the product lol
Save the grafts for your head, you may need more than one surgery in years to come.
