Thanks you very much.
i did chose top surgeon, Dr Maras from HDC.
i must say my recipient area is almost all transplanted hair, so the question is does that new hair can get shock loss like a native one.
-
Thanks for that detailed response.
the reason i asked that because i'm about 11 months post op, 3558 grafts to my third front of the scalp.
in about a 1.5 month i plan to go back and continue with my mid scalp plus crown and i really want to add density to my hairline or behind the hair line, i don't really understand where it's thin. i didn't take any meds and don't want to take either so i don't know.

Hey Astaldo,
congrats on your last HT.
i went through your threads and i must say you looked amazing at the front before this last procedure, why did you add more grafts and weren't you concern about shock loss of the post transplanted hair at the front?
are you using hair products?

Ok, so you don't mean regular hair loss but Retrograde alopecia which is a special condition. got it.
thank you.

In one of the photos showcasing the extraction pattern of the right side of the patient's scalp, extractions were made right above the ear. Seeing as the patient is in his early to mid 20s, how can you be sure that the patient won't develop retrograde alopecia later on in his life and thus lose the transplanted hair that was taken from this area?
Hey delancey,
what do you mean about extraction above the ear?
doesn't everyone do it?, i'm kinda freaking out now, despite the fact i'm almost 11 months post op.
i'm over 41, this is my picture.

Hey Dalgaard,
you should check out also Dr Maras in Cyprus, HDC clinic.
was there about 11 months ago, great place.

Hey all.
So I had a 3,300 FUE session with Dr. Bisanga in March 2017 and now planning my 2nd 3000 graft FUE session.
I've been given the option of having it over 1 or 2 days.
Is there any pro or con to either?
I'm guessing swelling will be more gradual with 2 days, but what about the rest of it?
Obviously time-wise 1 day is better; but is there any difference to results/healing if it is done over a shorter period?
Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks
Hey,
if you have time i think you should do it in 2 days.
can we see your results from the first HT? i'm also had one HT and planning another one.

Looks good mate.
do you feel the recovery from the 2 op in the crown is better than the first one in the front?
and how you deal with the grafts you added in the front?, are you protecting them fanaticism like in the first op?
-
-
Thanks.
i'm thinking about doing another procedure in 2 months. it will be 12.5 months post 1 op and it will be in another part of the scalp.
it will be in the mid scalp and crown, but i would like to add some density to the front.
should you add grafts to the front "just" 12.5 months post op or need to wait the whole 18 months?

Cheers appreciate it.
I spoke to Dr Koray about this and apparently it’s all to do with the angle the incision is made at. He uses his lateral technique and he explained you can achieve the highest density by doing this. I’m not the first to add density to a previous transplant.
Whilst on the subject they used a punch of 0.6 this time for extractions and I was told I should be able to maintain my short back and sides that I usually have.
Thanks.
fast and pain free healing mate!

Did everything go well?

Hey Deb,
everything looks great, you looked wonderful before this surgery and it's only going to get better.
best of luck.
one thing, didn't you concern about adding grafts in the front between hair transplanted a year ago?
-
I was talking with the clinic and they say the donor looks excellent, like we almost never touched it, so that good news and we can use 2500 grafts or even more for the mid scalp+crown.
probably will do it in 2 months, so it will be about 12.5 months post the HT.
attached some pictures of the mid scalp+crown area.
what do you think guys cause that redness? kinda painful and itching.
-
I think you should be fine, as i was told, at 3 weeks post op the grafts are secure at your scalp.
just relax and don't think about it, some of the hair will shed, you would probably look worse than before and it will look like shit, but this phase will pass and then the fun will starts.
happy journey.

I had a thread on the old site about a horror shock loss experience I had, resulting from a tiny touch up procedure.
Im convinced I was being led up the garden path for several, unnecessary repeat procedures. I finally consulted another surgeon who did a decent repair on me but I can still notice weakness when my hair is wet, but its almost undetectable to others - especially when dry. Cant really complain - I am way, way better off now than if I had never had transplants.
Don't get too depressed mate, your results may not be as thick or as dense as you would like but I wouldn't say you are botched or left looking freakish. When you brush it back dry it actually does look quite good.
I think top notch Dr's can get reasonable yields into scar tissue, work is even done on burnt skin. That said you have to work out the toll it will take on your wellbeing by chasing a better result.
Good luck with whatever you decide. Cheers.
What cause the scar tissue?
Mikey, so it's not advisable to do a touch-up?

I let my scalp heal itself and no spraying .. I was told to just keep it clean n wash it everyday .. just get some suds of the shampoo n pat it onto the recipient ..
ive healed really well , no scabs , just some crusts .,but all that is gone after two weeks .. Scalp is clean n ready to Grow .
Good to hear mate, happy growing.

Good luck mate.

Oh yeah, recipient. I misread original post
So, in an area that were almost no native hair and grafts were transplanted and you want to add density post op 1 year, do you think it's a good idea?

Best way to avoid it is for a doctor to use stick and place. Punching several thousand pre-made openings (slits) is a sure fire way to cause shockloss. If the slits are made in between previous grafts then these should grow back, but if it is between weak native hair affected by DHT then there's a stronger possibility it may not come back at all.
matt, are you talking about the donor area or the recipient?

Yes, but almost everyone in this forum post-surgery let’s the hair grow naturally in the ugly ducking phase, even though it doesn’t look good at all. That’s why I’m wondering if there’s a reason behind it. Maybe it’s healthier to let it grown naturally at the beginning or so?
Hey clerksband,
in my case i didn't cut the recipient until around 6.5 months although it looked weird not because someone told me it's healthier, i was just afraid to touch the area.
i had FUE, used organic alow-vera for my donor area.
taking MSM, Biotin, vitamin B12 and vitamin D.
trying to eat everyday walnuts, almonds, pumpkin seed and Brazil nuts (sometimes flaxseed).

I don't know.

Looks amazing mate, congrats.
are you using hair products in your last pictures?
how much grafts you added to the front in the last procedure, did you had shock loss in the hairs around?
