Totally normal. However, there's no way to know for sure if these are new hairs that are shedding or if they're native hairs that were on the last leg of the growth cycle. Either way, try not to get in the habit of overanalyzing your hair and the progress you're making. It's relatively early in the process for you, and I found the best thing I did to help relieve stress was not to not examine my hair on a daily basis. Trust that it's all working as it's designed to, and maybe get a personal status report once every two weeks or so. Otherwise, you might drive yourself crazy.

Transplanted hair that shed would grow again, right?

I think I messed up on the swelling part .. I tried sleeping at 45 degree angle ., but I switched it up alof by sleeping on my stomach , with my head turned to the side .. It was more comfortable n it didn’t touch my hair .. but it seems the meds had no where to go until today where it just swelled up .. it’s all good now .: been ice packing ,, I still look like a troll but it should be good by tomorrow night ..

Use that massage thing so the swelling won't come down to your eyes.

regarding the spray, i was told to spray every hour or so the first few days.

Did you sleep sitting up? I did and only got some very mild forehead swelling this morning. I can't wait to sleep lying down. The problem for me is, I can't sleep on my back and I obviously can't sleep on my front until they have all fully anchored.

    Congrats on your HT too!

i can't sleep on my back either, but i found out that sleeping in angle on my back was much more easier than lying absolutely horizontal.

but i stayed almost 8 days at the clinic.

  4. Agree with everyone, your hair looks good to me at 5 months.

as Melvin, one of the moderators here, once told me that kind of hair clogs together and it seems thin.

my hair is also kinda wavy and i (without meds) didn't look so good at 5 months, i believe in the 3-4 months coming you will see the difference. the most important thing now is to stay calm and just let the time to go by.

can you post some pre-op picture?

  5. First of all i'm 9.5 months post op. almost haven't had native hair at the recipient in the time of the surgery.

    you can see here -

never used meds, not going to either.

just wanted to know that area transplanted won't be thin again, so if i see hair shed i know it will grow again?

  6. Thanks Melvin and thanks LaserCap for that detailed response.

yes, i think i didn't explain myself properly. what i meant is that the common view is that the transplanted hair won't be like the native hair which was at that area, it suppose to stay forever like they say, so if you see hair shed from the recipient area a year post op you know another hair will come instead in the future?, hope it's more clear.

  7. one, when you say transplated hair doesn't shed you mean that it acts like the hair in the donor area? some hairs will shed but others will grow again instead?

second, is every pimple that pops up in the scalp suggesting of hair that about to grow?
