  1. But the whole point of hair transplant is that the hair from the donor area (sides and back of the head) is immune to DHT and that's why you don't go bald in those areas and that's why you take that hair and transplant it on the balding areas, no?

  2. I'm just wondering about the transplanted hair after a few years, what is it situation, is it just like after the HT?, does it went thinner? will it stay for good?

hope you understand what i mean.

  3. Hey kw877,

congrats on your HT, wish you a great growth.

when i did my HT, about 5.5 months ago, i also experienced swelling.

for my understanding it's the anaesthesia  that going down.

in order to avoid it going down to my eyes i was told to massage my forehead from the middle to the sides and i had to use ice pack during those days. even after those things i still had little bit of swelling going to my eyes and after that kinda had yellow color under my eyes that gone away a few days later.

don't worry, hope it will go soon.

Don't evaluate the end result before six months because I have seen who start showing their full density after months 6 to 8 at times.

I cannot make a comment about what density you should expect. It all has to do with the technique. Usually after hair transplant the hair starts to grow in after 3-5 months and will continue for up to 18 months. Usually at seven months we see about 50 percent growth, and about ten percent growth each month after that.

    Thanks :)

  5. Agree with hairlossPA, excellent result with that amount.

i see that with a lot of guys, that kinda thin area in the middle of the hair line, is that on purpose to make it look natural?.

misterh1k2, did you take meds during the year?, how was your situation after six months?, so the growth continued after the six months period?. i would really appreciate see some pictures from 6, 8, 10 months because i'm after the 5 month and i think i'm a slow grower and kinda nervous so it will be great.

    thanks

    Hi jayboy61,

I think there is an improvement in terms of thickness compared to the previous pictures.

You are just 6 months post-op so we expect more to come in the next months.

We are at your disposal if you need anything.

    Best wishes,

So, it's not true that all the grafts should come out of the skin by six months?, they keep coming out even after?, until about 9 months for slow growes?

does someone that use meds and minoxi will have faster growth rate than one who doesn't use them?

    thanks

Where are you reading this? Hair begins to sprout around 3-4 months that is the very beginning of hair growth, around 6 months more growth occurs, but it is not the end of hair growth. In fact, some cases may take up to 18 months to fully grow. Everyone is different and growth rates are not the same for every person. You have hair growth at 4 months this is a positive sign. Unfortunately, it’s a waiting game there is nothing else to do but to wait. Try and focus on other things besides your hair, by the time you know it you will look significantly better.

    Warm regards- Melvin

So, it's not true that all the grafts should sprout until 6 months? and after six months the hair only get thicker and mature?

I would wait before going back for crown work. I had to do some math to work out what 146 days is in months (truth: I did no math, I just googled it ;) )

You are not the first one that told me that lol

well, 148 says post op now, just shy of 5 months.

You say it was mainly a frontal procedure, but if some grafts were placed further back then it's possible that your crown loss will not be as noticeable once the grafts have grown. The balding area might be reduced to the point that you simply aren't that bothered. Of course I say this without knowing where the grafts were placed or what you look like.

That's what i thought about at the beginning, because i don't want to use meds or minoxi. then i thought maybe using derma roller at that area could maybe help, but still don't know what kind to buy or how to use it.

I honestly don't think there is any significant difference in shampoos, other than with baby shampoo which is very mild and is recommended for use post-op by Dr Rahal. I used it post-op as instructed and still occasionally grab the bottle to use as I have the stuff for my baby son. It does the job it is intended for.

Everyone say you need to use natural, no parabens, SLS ,sles, phthalates, or other chemicals and every shampoo i check there is something.

I don't know how old your boy is, but congrats anyways ?

  9. Thanks mattj.

    Thanks Shera.

I think my progress is according to the time line. i have patience.

My HT was at the front and little bit inside, 3558 grafts. my crown area is thin as well and the weird thing is when i shampoo my scalp when i touch the crown it's irritating as hell and i just want to scratch and rub it.

Should i wait the whole time to asses the HT before doing another one to the crown?

Any knowledge regarding derma roller for the crown?

Still need  natural, free of chemicals shampoo recommendation.

    Thank you.

  10. Hey guys,

146 days post op, some stupid questions.

i'm sweating quite a lot, especially at my forehead, most of the time i'm indoors. it will sound kinda dumb but i don't know if the scalp is sweating too.

is that something to worry about?, should i wash my scalp every time i sweat?, is it good to wash the scalp with water few times a day besides the time i shampoo it?.

Should i go back exercising at this time?, not walking or running, but weights (not too heavy), about 10-15 lb at the most. can it help with the growth?.

How do you create foam from a kinda watery shampoo?.

Six mark point it doesn't mean 6 months had past but 5, right?. i know i should not compare my status to others, especially when i don't take any meds or minoxi, but still, you can't help it.

do the grafts can still pop out from beneath the skin after six months?, i mean is there is a period of time which the grafts should come out and after that, even if there are more in the skin, they won't?,

    what can cause that?.

    Thanks.

    P.S :

i posted 2 messages at the "Shampoos, sprays, and concealers" section regarding finding a decent and healthy shampoo and about derma roller, really kinda lost at those subjects and need your help guys. if anyone had some knowledge it will be great.

    Thanks again.
