    I am happy with mine so far. I look much younger and have a much easier time styling my hair. As long as you have realistic expectations and choose a high quality doctor you will most likely see an improvement in your appearance.

    Jotronic, I am very happy with my growth so far and I know it's still very early in the game. Even though the hairline is thinner on the right side it is still thicker than it was pre-op and my hair is much easier to style. I was just interested if others had experienced uneven growth and if it ever evened out for them. Emperor, How long ago did you have your HT and which areas had uneven growth?

    I am almost 5 months post op and there is a noticible difference in density in my right hairline vs. the left side. The left side almost looks twice as thick yet there were more grafts placed in the right. Is this normal?

    Also be sure ure using rogaine to maintain the crown.

    I would put 2500 in the hairline to lower it a bit and increase the density. I would not focus on the crown and rather just use concealers there since they are harder to detect on the crown vs. the hairline.

    Buy some toppik or xfusion and apply it to your scar. I use it to conceal my scar when I buzz my hair too short and it works miracles. Oh and try avoiding white pillows because it tends to come off.

    Dr. Hasson specializes more in the hairline and Dr. Wong specializes in the crown.

    I would also try using minoxidil to help stabilize/regrow some hair. As far as concealers you might want to try Toppik or Nanogen fibers, I feel they are easier to apply than Dermatch.

    I was wondering the same thing before my transplant so I wore a cap on my journey there and was never asked to take it off. On the way back I was able to make it without having to take it off also. I remember being really nervous about setting off the metal detector because the hat Dr. Hasson gave me had metal on the clasp and top, not to mention the 70 metal staples in my head! I guess the metal wasn't dense enough to set off the alarm...

    FUE will not replace strip. I think that with the advances in regenerative medicine you will be able to have a strip procedure that produces no scar. With the higher cost and lower comparative yield associated with FUE, I believe FUE will become absolete.

    I know there are various reasons for donor shockloss and most of the time it is only temporary but I was curious if permanent shockloss would occur if an artery was cut during the procedure. I am asking because I remember during my procedure the doctor taking a longer time to remove the strip from the left side of my head and am pretty sure he cut an artery there because there was much more blood(I could actually feel it dripping down my neck). I am also only experiencing shockloss on that side of my donor scar.

    I believe Owen Wilson has either had a hair tranplant or wears a hair system. There is a reason his hair is always covering his forhead and you never seem him getting it wet and pulled back in his movies. He has a very large forhead due to balding and thats why he styles it that way.

    I believe this "maintenance" that they are refering to is for a hair system not a hair tranplant...

    Im glad you wrote this thread. I had the same thought pattern as you with assuming that once they were growing they could be treated like normal hairs. Where were your grafts located?

    Scorpian, Did you use sunblock on your scalp? Do you have any pictures before and after so we can see the damage? I am taking a vacation 4.5 months after my surgery and had planned on going to the beach without a hat but still using sunblock...

    Get a check-up with a doctor. If he says its MPB then I would get on Propecia asap as well as using the Rogaine.

    You could try using a concealer such as Dermmatch or Toppik in the area. I am currently using XFusion (same thing as Toppik) to help conceal my donor scar. It's not perfect but it definately helps.

    At 4 weeks post op the only thing you would have to worry about is stretching the scar. Any exercises that cause tension on the back of your neck should be avoided until the scar fully matures.

    Check out your local salons some may carry them. I found XFusion (similar to Toppik) at a salon close to my house.
