  1. Great transformation. There is a wide variation of methods and results on the site. This is the kind that I like. The close up pictures are very very helpful. I now separate out doctors by seeing which ones pull the hair back for close up views and those that don't. This is excellent work.
  2. Very impressive. Great work. I have been researching hair doctors now and there is a wide variation in results and approach. This is one of the ones that I really like.
  3. Am beginning to really research hair doctors and am realizing that the right answer for the number of grafts is: as many as you can get. Doesn't that make the most sense ? Why would a doctor do less than the most he can do? For you, you need as many as you can get. I'm sure the doctor will sell you more grafts if he can. I need quite a bit so I expect to be told that I need as much as I can get.
  4. richter101 I would not feel funny promoting my doctor if I had the surgery and I was happy. I'm a bit jealous because you did it already and are on the other side of it. I know I'm going to do one but have to pick the right doctor and then actually go through with it. It's time now, though. Time to get the hair back.
  5. Great result. Really very impressed. I can see that line the doctor drew in the before picture and there is definitely new hair in the after picture. You know something, that is like a miracle. This guy must be happy. Does it look like he has some grays in the before photos, but less in the after ? Can he, or did he, dye his hair transplanted hairs ? Beldarcone, I asked in another topic what you paid for your transplant. Do you mind saying ? Tnx.
  6. Beldarcone, I think a hair transplant is in my future because I don't put much stock in the inflammation or MPB theories. Or should I be saying I believe the MPB theory is correct but there really isn't medication to really treat it. How much did you pay for your transplant if you don't mind saying ?
  7. I'm also thinning is so many areas I see no problem with shaving my hair for the procedure. I'll say I tried a new hair style that didn't work out. I would want the doctor to see as much of my scalp as possible.
  8. I don't think they are different than toppik, probably a generic competitor but it may have less inflammation just because it's different. Another thing is the spray that comes with toppic. I think its just hair spray so it has alcohol which definitely drys out the scalp. I don't know about use after a hair transplant. Are you going to get a hair transplant ? Never thought I would do one but its begining to look like thats where I'm headed (no puning, ha ha)
  9. Azdz, I haven't tried any wax yet, just saw a can of it at the drug store and thought I might give it a try. My feeling is that it will be thicker and make the hairs look thicker and more managable. Toppik is inflammatory. My scalp always itches after using it so be careful. In the areas that I use it I'm not worried about more hair loss so I use it there, but thicker areas I would have concerns. Have you heard of Kabooki fibers? It's like toppik but may not be as inflammatory.
  10. Beldarcone, no I don't think the steroids worked or did anything at all. I asked my doctor to refer me to patients in who it worked and he couldn't give me any so I should have known it would be a waste of time. I guess a hair transplant is in my future as no easier way to get my hair back. So let it be. It's great you got a hair transplant. What was it really like please? Do you mind talking about it openly?
  11. If I use a gel product I will try to make sure as little of it goes directly on my scalp. I get less itchiness that way and my hair doesn't look so glued down. I'm going to try wax next. I have read that others use it on this website and will give it a go.
  12. I have noticed itching when I use toppik, but I found if I don't use the spray it isn't as bad. I think the toppik irritates the skin which is worrying because irritation may cause more hair to fall out. So the styling gel you are using may be doing the same thing. I would not be sure your itching is due to chemicals or toxins. Just clogging.
  13. Beldarcone I think what he is saying is that there are genetic reasons but that combined with the inflammation is whats causing the hair to fall out. I think this is right because my doctor gave injections of a steroid to slow my hair from falling out and he wanted me to start up on Propecia. So he covered inflammation and genetics. Are you on propecia?
