  1. Here is a picture of the other side. Please note that these pictures are under very harsh lighting conditions.
  2. Any turkish locals out there who can provide additional information? I think the best way to know is to have the opinions of locals... Wish there were more of them on this forum!
  3. Hello everyone, Attached you can find images of a bald patch I've had ever since I was born. Hair does not grow there. I was hoping to get some feedback regarding transplanting some hairs there. I've been losing my hair for quite some time (NW5/6 in a diffused pattern); I am 23 turning 24 and considering transplanting some hairs to this scar. My concern is : Suppose I already transplanted hairs there. Is there a risk that my sides will recede backwards leaving me with a patch of transplanted hairs surrounded by nothing? Your replies are highly appreciated Thank you in advance.
  4. Hi Hopeless, Where have you read about bad reviews and results of Dr. Yaman? Could you please provide a link or something? Thanks
  5. Good luck Eric! Do you have any pre-op pictures? And what NW scale were you?
  6. Hey man, looks good already.. Best of luck! How many grafts were used in your previous FUT procedure? Regarding scarring (FUE), are there noticeable white dots in your case?
  7. Thanks a lot for the feedback Bill You're doing great with this forum btw; it has helped me a lot! Any further opinions will be highly appreciated! Regards
  8. Tj287, Thanks for the feedback. Will take a look at this! Have you ever experienced any sides from progesterone? Have you tried Finasteride before and stopped due to side effects?
  9. Hello everyone, I'm starting this thread to get as much feedback as I can regarding updating the hair loss treatment that I am on now. I'm a diffuse thinner in a NW5/6 pattern and I'm turning 24 years old. Been considering a hair transplant for about 2 years but I've always decided to wait and try medications instead. I never tried Finasteride although I know it can significantly improve my hair but I'm not willing to take the risk due to the side effects reported (sometimes permanent). Anyway, the below is what I am using now: 1) Minoxidil 5% for about 4 years now; it has somehow slowed the hair loss but definitely not stopped it. My question is what are some good brands that are out there? Is Rogaine Foam any good? I am now on Minoxidil Bailleul %5 but I feel it is not very effective. 2) Biotin 5000 mcg. I know this doesn't stop hair loss but makes my hair and nails grow faster etc... Considering: 1) Lipogaine Big 3 Shampoo ( to be used 3-4 times a week) 2) Nizoral 2% ( to be used twice a week) Q: Is that excess usage for both shampoos per week? What's your recommendation? 3) Your recommendation on vitamins that may improve or do any good to my hair. I heard some stuff about saw palmetto, should I consider it? I'd be grateful if you can suggest some package containing all these vitamins. I know there are many experienced people/physicians on this forum and would really appreciate to get their feedback regarding all points listed above. Thank you in advance for the help
  10. Gillenator, indeed this is one of the reasons why I style it in the opposite direction! What do you mean undue tension on the hair shafts? I believe I do cause tension on my hair when forcing it the other way. Can you please clarify or elaborate on what you mean? Thanks a lot!
  11. I've always wondered if this is increasing my hair loss, but never combed my hair to its natural direction because I think it doesn't suit me. Thanks for the replies guys, will keep combing the same way if that's the case!
  12. Hey everyone, I have a general question here that I hope you might answer. I always comb my hair in a direction opposite to the natural one (i.e. I comb them to the left when I feel that they are naturally to the right). In other words, it's like I force them to one side when they are naturally biased to go to the other. Question: Does this by any means result in hair loss or worsens my hair loss? ( images of my hair loss can be found here: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/184043-am-i-good-candidate-hair-transplant.html ) Or it doesn't have anything to do with that? Would really appreciate the feedback Thanks!
  13. Hey man, I would really appreciate if you could please advise how I can contact your hair transplant doctor.
  14. Hi Indexo, I believe that wet hair would definitely give you a thinner look; I personally wouldn't use wet gel to style my hair. We can only judge based on images. Therefore, I will be waiting for those next week so we can see how you progressed so far.. Goodluck!
  15. Thanks for the valuable feedback HairCenter. I do acknowledge the fact that I will lose more hair in the future even in the hairline but it's just a risk I'm willing to take. When it comes to the day where I will have to choose between thickening the hairline again or filling the crown, I will decide then. I do have realistic expectations though; if all is said and done and I end up 20 years later with the coverage I have now, I don't think I would mind (Some say it would matter more to me then, it might but I believe it won't ). My hair loss bothers me but not to an extreme extent; I just want to have a fuller head of hair during my 20s, probably 30s. I do not mind taking any medications as long as the side effects are not severe. At a young age, sexual side effects are what concern me the most. I know that Finasteride might help A LOT in my case and most people here are recommending that, but the problem is I am afraid of long term effects. Suppose I start the medication and don't have any sides and after a couple of years the sides appear and won't go. That's my biggest concern. Even my dermatologist who is the best in the country, very reputable, and extremely experienced (he's in his high 60s) advised against it and said I've always told my friends back in the days that it might have permanent sides and now it seems that I'm right. ( He is bald and chose not to take Fin). Apart from Fin, what others medications do you suggest? ( I am on Minox and Biotin now, considering Nizoral and Lipogaine Big 3 Shampoo). Any feedback regarding the above would be highly appreciated.
  16. Thanks for the feedback everyone. Gillenator, I have excess beard and body hair. Way too much! This can help me in the future as you said. I have also shaved my head tried the buzz cut several times. I don't mind doing it over and over again (I will be doing it soon); it suits me well. However, I would like to have longer hair with some decent coverage which is why I'm thinking surgery.
  17. I agree with HairLostYears... Another 5,000 grafts after 5,200 seems like a lot especially for a NW5.
  18. Thanks will take that into consideration.. What Norwood scale were you prior to your transplant?
  19. Yes, I've been on Minoxidil for the past 4 years and I think it has slowed down but definitely not stopped my hair loss. I also use Biotin. I don't want to use Finasteride because of the side effects. I have realistic expectations; a conservative hairline and I will concentrate on the hairline and midscalp while leaving more grafts for the crown in the future. Here is a link of my hair: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/184043-am-i-good-candidate-hair-transplant.html I have advanced hair loss and it is quite obvious that I will become a NW6 like my father but I hope the medication helps. Therefore, I'm hoping to proceed with good surgeon who has a plan for the future after carefully examining my case.
  20. How long have you been using propecia and have you ever experienced any sides?
  21. Hi Spanker, Thanks for the feedback. I haven't made up my mind yet and haven't booked with any doctor which is why I am here for further advice. If I decide to go for a hair transplant, I will definitely not lower my hairline and will not come close to the crown. I have very realistic expectations; I know that I will need further transplants in the future and I don't think that with a hair transplant, my hairline and top would look any worse than it does now. I would only work on the hairline and the top using 3000-3500 grafts to make sure that I have at least some reserves for the future especially for the crown. This way I believe that I would have an acceptable hairline and top for the next 10 years no matter how much hair I lose there, and only then I will consider transplanting the remaining grafts in the crown. I honestly do not have any problem taking Finasteride or any medication as long as the sexual side effects aren't permanent, which is not the case after I have read a lot about this. Looking forward to your feedback regarding the above.
  22. Exactly what I was thinking! I am the same age as you are and I have thin coverage all over my hair in a NW5-NW6 pattern. I would prefer having hair during the coming years by transplanting around 3500 grafts to the hairline and top while leaving some grafts for the vertex in the future. I do not want to wait 10 more years when I'm completely bald; I prefer having conservative hair transplants over a certain period than wait to lose everything. Here are images of my hair: http://www.hairrestorationnetwork.com/eve/184043-am-i-good-candidate-hair-transplant.html
  23. Hello, What Norwood scale are you? And did both of these clinics consider you suitable for a hair transplant considering your age?
