  1. Nsar, Thanks for the feedback! May I know how involved Dr. Yaman was during the procedure? Did he do the extractions, incisions, and placement of the grafts? Further, how old are you? And do you have any pre-op images? Thanks!
  2. Hi Gillenator, Thanks for the honest feedback. I have been following up with the some of these surgeons for the past 2 years and back then they advised against a transplant but now they suggested that I can go for one. I am turning 24 and I am really thinking of going on with the procedure in the next few months. Regarding family history, my father also started losing his hair in his 20s and I am attaching some pictures of that here (He is 53 now). Like me, he has been using minoxidil since then (he said he stopped for quite some time but as soon as he saw me use it, he started using it again). My barber (which is the same as his) says that we have the same hair and it looks like I might be heading to a similar balding pattern. Note that I will also be using minoxidil twice a day which I think might help (I've been using it only once for the past 4 years), and I don't plan on stopping using it, while adding some vitamins that may be of assistance. (If you have any suggestion for that, please let me know). The plan was to transplant around 2,500 grafts on the frontal third to get a solid front, and 1,000 or 1,500 on the crown to have a natural look. Do you think I should avoid doing anything to the crown? If so, why is that? Is it because shock loss might lead to losing all these weak hairs or because I will definitely lose more hair in the future? Both maybe? Apologies for the massive amount of questions and awaiting your feedback!
  3. Looks good! I plan to have a procedure with Dr. Yaman in the next few months.. Please keep updating us!
  4. Thanks for the feedback Matt and HairsGone. I've been doing my research regarding hair transplants and all its consequences for about 3 years now. I've been using minoxidil for 4 years as long as I can remember, as well as biotin which I started recently (if you have any other suggestions that can improve the quality of my hair, please let me know). I'm not a big fan of Finasteride and I'm not wiling to take it especially after reading that it might sometimes have permanent side effects. Honestly I don't think it will make a big difference if I sit for a hair transplant now or 3 years from now and I'm not willing to wait another 10 years to do it. I want a good doctor to have a good plan for me by focusing on the frontal third and adding some density to the crown because I do not want to lose most of my hair and then go for a hair transplant. Out of 15 recommended doctors on here, 8 (2 of them are coalition) said I can do a hair transplant and they'd have a good plan for me by suggesting around 3000-3500 grafts on average and specified that I will have more grafts for a second or even third transplant in the future. Your opinions?
  5. Hello everyone, As specified in the subject, my question is: Am I a good candidate for a hair transplant based on my donor area only? What do you think it? I know age and other significant factors (note that I am still in my low 20s) are very important, but I just want your opinions regarding my donor. Your replies will be highly appreciated. Just took these attached images today and would like to hear your feedback.
  6. Hello Nsar, Could you please start a thread probably showing and documenting your progress? This way everyone following Dr. Yaman's work will have the follow your journey. Good luck!
  7. Looking good! Please keep updating us every month so we see the progress
  8. Thanks David. So even if I am thinning on top up until the crown and I did a hair transplant in between the thinning hairs on the this recipient area, it doesn't mean that I will lose all the thin non-transplanted hairs due to shock loss right? Most of the thin hairs (not the most fragile miniaturized hairs) will grow back? Further, the most fragile hairs that you talked about may be permanently lost, but it is not 100% sure that I will lose these permanently due to shock loss right? Apologies for the number of questions, just trying to learn as much as possible about hair transplants and their consequences before sitting for one!
  9. Hey everyone, I am considering a hair transplant in a year or so when I become 24 and I've been doing a lot of research regarding this topic. One thing that I would like to learn more about is shock loss. Does shock loss always happen for men with HTs (in the recipient as well as the donor)? My hair is thinning from the front up until the vertex; there is coverage on the whole area but the hair is very thin (the scalp is visible when looking from the top). Many people talk about shock loss when it comes to FUE. Suppose I did my procedure and hairs were moved from my donor to the area where the hair was thinning. I know that there is the possibility for shock loss in the recipient area as well as the donor. My question is: Let's say the thin hairs were destined to fall 5 or 10 years from now. After the hair transplant, I experienced shock loss in the recipient area. Will the non-transplanted hairs that were already there before the procedure fall out permanently and only the transplanted hairs will remain? Or is this just temporary and they will grow back again? Any advice from experts, patients who have had HTs and experienced this first hand, or anyone with good knowledge about the topic are highly appreciated, since I am receiving many contradicting replies upon consulting with surgeons. Thanks
  10. Amazing transformation man.. Can't wait to see how your hair progresses further! I'm considering Dr. Yaman for a HT in a few months. How old are you if you don't mind me asking?
  11. Hey B-KW, Any updates? Almost everyone's disappearing after they pass their 1 year mark lol
  12. Hello there, Any updates or images? Would love to see your progress since I'm considering Dr. Yaman for my HT.
  13. Hello, Any updates? Images or anything would be helpful!
  14. Price is not a big issue but I'd also like the surgeon to be present and hands on during most of the surgery. How was the procedure with Dr. Yaman? Could you give me some details about your initial thoughts? (the clinic, staff, how involved was Dr. Yaman...). Anything would be helpful. I would really appreciate it. Also, if you have created a thread showing your progress, please post the link here. Thanks
  15. I am very much aware of the issues surrounding Dr. Doganay. However, I have included his name since he used to be very reputable and the last I heard is that he is back at being involved more or less in all aspects of the procedure instead of relying on techs after his recommendation was pulled out by this community. If Dr. Doganay has performed surgery for anyone here recently, please confirm this. I would also appreciate if someone can link me to more Dr. Yaman results since there are very few cases on the web, unlike Dr. Erdogan's.
  16. Thanks for the feedback. I actually gave this a lot of thought. Yes, there are NW6 patterns. With that being said, I know what to expect at such a young age in case the doctor decides he can perform the procedure (not now, at about 24 years old). That is why I am looking for the most suitable doctor who can produce good results while taking into consideration future hair loss. He can reconstruct the hairline up till the mid scalp with somehow a conservative number of grafts; the vertex can be treated later I guess.
  17. Hello everyone, I have been following this community for quite some time. I recently registered and I want your valuable opinions regarding the above-mentioned doctors from Turkey. I am considering Turkey because some doctors have shown great results with more competitive prices than other countries in Europe, as well as the US and Canada. I am young (23 years old) and I've been suffering from hair loss for about 5 years, so you can imagine that I've lost a lot of hair at such a young age. I have done online consultations with a lot doctors, most (if not all) of them recommended by this community. Some of them have said that I am still young and I need to wait (a year, 2 or more) before going for the procedure, while others said that it was feasible. I've been doing a lot of research for the past 4 years and I've educated myself pretty well when it comes to hair transplants; I know what to expect and I know that I will definitely lose more hair in the future (note that I am using minoxidil but not willing to take finasteride due to the side effects). However, I do not want to wait anymore till I lose everything, I want to tackle the issue as soon as possible. Now that you have a brief overview about my story, I would like to know your opinions regarding the 4 doctors that I have mentioned in the title. If any of these doctors gave me an OK to go for hair transplant at my age, you would imagine that he should be skilled and experienced enough to produce great results while planning for future procedures (which all 4 are without a doubt). Therefore, I would like to hear stories from patients who already have done hair transplants under the name of any of these doctors. If you have some links, before and after images, or anything that might be of assistance, please post it here. Further, if you have other suggestions regarding other doctors or any relevant opinions to any of the topics I have discussed, I would love to hear them! Feel free to ask me any question you have and I will be more than happy to reply back. Best Regards
