I heard starting minoxidil right after surgery can lessen shock loss, is that true?

Its truly amazing what they can do now. 20 years ago hair transplants were a joke. People would actually come out of that surgery room looking worse (see left pic): I thought hair transplants were still like that. I wish I had known sooner that HT science has evolved so much, I wouldve gotten a HT much earlier

How common is it to get swollen eyes (like this guys in the pic) after a hair transplant??

I agree with you. If you're not willing to travel you probably dont deserve to get a good hair transplant. I'll probably make a vacation out of it if I decide to go with H&W. Maybe take in Whistler and Kelowna while I'm there. B.C is gods country. Its stunningly beautiful

When a doctor does a HT, does he take the hairs from the back and then inserts them in the dormant hair follicles on top of your head (see purple arrow in pic), or does he try to avoid those?? (see red arrow)

But how can you be 3 months into a hair transplant with anyone, when it takes 8 months to a year before you see your full results??! I dont understand :confused:

I dont mean to brag or anything, but up until 4 years ago I used to be a real headturner (girl's words, not mine). Girls would stare at me, whistle at me on street corners....etc...etc. That ALL ended when all my curly locks fell out :eek: I dont know what else to do. If the HT doesnt work out I'm pretty much f_cked Very little reason to carry on with life if you're completely unattractive to girls. I've learned a lot aboot myself though. Maybe I wasnt such a nice person before this happened, and maybe I need to be a lot more nicer from now on

Thanks Splitter, but I already put down a deposit of $1,000 with dr. Jones. From what I've read I'm actually a really good candidate because I have natural wavy hair and a huge forelock (also called a tuft) at front of my scalp. Baldies never lose their tuft, its there forever and it will help conceal any bad frontal hairline. See red arrow:

Your hairline looks fine. It might look a TINY bit "picket fence" but nowhere near an obvious transplant. I think you're getting paranoid and perhaps a bit self-conscious

Yeah, thats what I figured too. I bet that 50 percent chose shitty doctors to try and save money. I'm going with one of the best HT doctor in Toronto, his name is Dr. Jones. 50% of all patients wind up regretting getting a hair transplant. ^^^ is this statement true, or an exaggeration?? I'm a bit apprehensive getting a HT. Part of me really wants to, the other part is scared to death
