  1. Time will be the only thing that proves how effective, and good looking, your transplant turns out to be. Just be patient and wait for the final results.
  2. Glad to hear about the regrowth and the "growing out". Sounds like things are working out well for you!
  3. I honestly think you might be overthinking everything. Time will be the big factor in deciding if you are happy with your results. Give it a little more time before you decide if the transplant was worth it for you.
  4. Glad to see your shock loss is getting better. Please keep us updated!
  5. Good luck and please let us know about your adventure once you return.
  6. I was at Costco yesterday looking at minoxidil. I know this seems like a far fetched question but I need to ask it for my own peace of mind. I have high cholesterol and was wondering if any of the topical medications for hair loss can cause my cholesterol to go higher after it is absorbed into my body.
  7. Does this mean I shouldn't check into getting product from overseas? I have some friends who swear by the minoxidil they get from a supply house overseas. I was thinking about buying some but now I'm thinking I should stay local so I can consult with a local doctor in case I have issues.
  8. Is it a situation where it is really noticeable or is a case where (like many of us suffering from hair loss issues) it's worse in your eyes? Can others really notice the "weaker side"?
  9. In other words, I should consult with a doctor rather than trust many things that say "FDA Clearance"? While that is good to know, it's also a bit disheartening.
  10. I just discovered lasers can be used to combat hair loss. (Yes, I'm kind of late to the party.) Do you need a prescription for these treatments? Has anybody on this board used it? How effective did you find the results?
  11. How did you take care of cleaning your scalp? Regular shampoo or a special solution?
  12. I asked last week about how young is too young for a transplant which got me thinking if my being over 50 is too old to have a transplant? What hairs I have are gray and my body hairs are still black. Would the mixture be too jarring and look unnatural?
  13. I'm new to the world of hair transplants so I don't know everyone (yet).
  14. I appreciate all of the advice from everyone. I will have another chat with him next week about having a transplant.
  15. I'm sorry but I don't know who Korey Erdogan is...Is that a name i should check out as a possible doctor for me?
  16. My 22-year-old nephew is considering a hair transplant. I feel he might be too young but he is convinced his hairline became mature in his teens and won't change as he gets older. Is he right or does your hairline keep maturing until your mid-20s?
  17. Is India really the best option? Aren't there just as qualified doctors in the US that wouldn't require the extra expense of international travel?
  18. My anxiety is due to social situations and not my hair loss.
  19. I appreciate all of the advice and encouragement. Just last night I had to leave a store because they made a closing time announcement and then I started worrying about making a decision in time, will I make the right decision, etc. On the plus side, I saved money by leaving before buying:)
  20. If there's one thing I have more of than hair loss, it's anxiety on a daily basis. My anxiety is increased in social situations where I'm surrounded by constantly talking people. I find myself overwhelmed trying to keep up with the conversations. I am making progress towards having a procedure but I'm already feeling anxiety thinking of the million (or less) questions I will need to answer at parties and social gatherings. How have any of you dealt with this type of anxiety?
  21. Working with the same guy today. Still itching. I asked if he wanted to borrow a cap to protect his head. He declined and said he was sure the itching was a normal post-procedure problem.
  22. I'm working off site today and one of the guys with us had a strip transplant about a month ago. He offered up this info because it is around 90 degrees today and he says the sun beating down on him is making his transplant area itchy. Is this a thing? Can your newly transplanted area be more sensitive to heat, light and other outdoor stimuli?
  23. My baseball cap is covered in my hair. I try to keep it clean on a daily basis because I wear the cap to the gym. In fact, it seems that I shed a lot on a daily basis. I wake up and my pillow has a good amount of hair on it. My car seat is a place to find my hair. I go through lots of Draino in my bathroom. It's depressing and funny at the same time.
