  1. Spot on Mikey. I'm on here because I want to help people going through the same thing. We all know how horrible hairloss is so David you should be careful in your assumptions. I must have ready 100 review on doc Bhatti before deciding. 100 were not all great. But no one's are. You have to weigh it all up. Having been on here a while some people don't know what hts are. They think there magic. So when they don't have chewbacca like hair 1 month on they all complain OP - you're not going for a haircut. While things can go wrong and people can be unlucky don't be a schmuck. So many people complain after. Arm yourself with as much knowledge before going through with an op. You want to know what your getting into. Don't just trust someone because they're a doctor. Get all the info then decide. We're lucky we have forums like this.
  2. Thanks Shera. One guy (Raj UK) told me to educate myself as possible. That plus the Doc being very upfront when you ask the right questions meant I knew what to expect. He said nothing much till 6 months. Then 6-12 you'll see a fair bit - but it will never be like when you were a kid. Please anyone reading this and thinking about a HR read Dr Bhatti's FAQ's. There is so much info on there As for me I feel a bit like Benjamin Button as for all these years I've been used to looking in the mirror and always having less hair. And now I look and every week I have a bit more hair. Its cool. Fingers crossed and it doesn't all go tits up and they all fall out. But so far so good
  3. Yup that's how much it was. Quite simple I haggle for a lot of things but not for this. I actually was willing to pay a more - I just wanted a top job without hassles. But they have their structure which is transparent so all good.
  4. I'm looking for a big improvement to pre-op thats for sure! Okay how do I explain how it feels 5 months in After the HT for 3-4 months the implanted area of your head doesn't really feel like your own. Now after 4 months it starts to feel like its all acclimated (hope that makes sense) and from then I'd say I started to see growth. Nothing before So now it feels thicker I do NOT need to use toppik anymore People who know I had the HT give me a thumbs up and say it looks good But people who don't know haven't commented yet. So its like its half way there - on track. I'm pretty happy and waiting. The Doc was clear this would be the case so I don't even think about it. One point to note - the donor area hurt a fair bit for like 2 months. I hadn't heard/expected that but it does and I suppose if you think they're taking all those hairs out what do you expect.
  5. Hey yes sorry was meaning to. I think it's getting there. Bear in mind the pic looks bad as it's in harsh light with a flash. In normal conditions I'd say my hair looks like it did a few years ago. It's definitely getting a bit better. This is 5 months on. Doc always said I'd see real story from march. Let us know what you think anyway
  6. Ahh that makes sense. Hopefully you are okay. For me here's my tips: 1) Arm yourself with as much knowledge as possible. Don't say 'I put my trust in the Doctor'. Its your head. Dr Bhatti is very honest and says as much in his FAQ's. 2) Be sure you know exactly what you're getting. You have to probe. He's not going to say straight off the bat - 'oh btw you might need a second transplant in 10 years'. 'Oh the thickness of transplanted hair will never be as good as natural hair'. But if you ask he's honest and will tell you these things. That way you know what you're going to get. If you don't ask, you won't know, and you sell yourself a dream. And that's why you get a lot of upset people here. Some genuinely mind! So I am definitely not detracting from them 3) After the transplant it looks good shaved for 2 weeks. Then the grafts fall out + any shock loss and you'll look worst than before. Thats normal. Thats from say 3 weeks through to 4 months. Then after 4 months I've started to see some baby grafts coming through. I can explain it like - I normally use toppik. I had to use more and more recently. But at the moment after 4.5 months I have stopped using it as my hair is looking quite good without it. Btw my donor area hurt for 3 months after the op. Just better now. Which country are you from? I'd go see him first or at least email. He always replies Thats my update! Will put an update on my page after 5 months. So soon
  7. There's loads of reviews on here. I just posted my experience from sept and there have been around 10 since. Not sure how many you expect Read the FAQs on his website and educate yourself. From my experience follow that and youre fine. He's good.
  8. Agree it's an inspiring story. Feel bad for you but I do agree with the other guys. They're actually okay. You've been through enough and while you come across as a normal guy I think you are a bit eyebrow obsessed shall we say. Leave them alone!!
  9. Shame about the flight but at least you're back and its all done I was nervous going back but no one even noticed. 1 guy said something a month on about the donor area having patches missing but that was all. Just goes to show - no one really cares
  10. Wooaah that's some tale. Glad you made it back okay. Did the airline to Australia charge you again? Hope not! I too went from Australia in sept. Getting to Chandigarh was a bit tricky especially on the way as I went for the train option. I went for that as know that flights can get cancelled from Chandigarh but my train was 19 hrs late so I got a taxi Anyway what you'll be wanting to know is how's the density. I think it looks good. Like mine. I am starting to see downey hair after 4 months which is exciting. Bear with it for now. In 1 month it will look terrible due to shedding etc but it's all uphill from there!
  11. Looks good! Now just forget about it and be patient. I'm 4 months on and hairs are starting to appear
  12. Nice work. It looks very similar to mine. Good to hear you got as many grafts as expected as well. California is spot on. They'll send you to the pharmacist. It's a lot of stuff so get rid of the boxes if you're short on space. They take up a lot of extra room. Great pics. Keep us posted. Taking the meds?
  13. Nice work getting over there. I was in your shoes 3 months ago. You're in good hands. My baby hairs are just starting to come out which is cool Try to get some rest. Look forward to hearing and seeing the results
  14. Donor looks good. I don't think you need straightening either. Honestly I'm not just saying this but I think your hair looks good and you're overthinking things. Just relax and wait for it to get even better.
  15. You handled that quite well so maybe you are not one ;-)
  16. Hey Vermaj It'll definitely look a bit thicker once its a little shorter. Give it a trim. Finasteride till 6 months. You have 2 months left till the year mark. Good suggestion on fibres as a kind of last resort. Try not to stress. Using the minoxidil right? And keep up the biotin. MayiraP0chu - you come across as a bit of a plonker with your 'vindicated' remark. This isn't about you, you know?
  17. I went to Dr Bhatti from Sydney. Think it went okay. PM is want to know more details.
  18. Looks good. Think you went the same time as me. Good luck
  19. Yesterdays day dream - I think you're looking good! I just had mine done last month with the doc. Its interesting a few people were commenting on your density but since the new growth and pics they haven't come back to comment? Funny that Vermaj - show us some pics.
  20. Hey guys. Thanks for the comments! So the 1st 4 days were pretty good but I have to admit once I got back home the donor area did hurt for about another 4 days. I am a bit of a wimp admittedly but I took painkillers for 4 days - and I don't normally take them. Just want to be real with people. So anyway, 1st 4 days easy. Next 4 was in a bit of pain Now once that was over I'm okay. Picture attached. The crusts just look like bad dandruff. They're coming off each day which is great. Went back to work today and no one noticed anything, Last point I'd like to make. I read up and studied a lot about this. I've read a lot of posts where people go 'I trusted the doctor' and then they didn't get what they wanted. Please do your research. Dr Bhatti is as straight up as you'll get. Read the FAQs on his website. That's a goldmine of info there. So far I'm pretty happy. Am taking the meds (fin and biotin for 6 months). Will update you guys monthly I reckon. Am wary all the hairs will come out next month but the informed fellas will know that's normal. Thanks
  21. Hey guys. 1st time poster for a while so go easy on me. I've been lurking on here for years. Am 40 now but started losing my hair early 20's. Only slowly but recently no amount of toppik could cover it up. I either needed to shave it off or have a HT. I have a funny shaped head so went for the latter. I read so many reviews and even came to Dr Bhatti's clinic when in India to have a look. Met Raj Bains (he of Bald Gossip fame) there who has been an amazing help on this journey. I emailed back and forth with the Doc and met him when he came to Australia recently. Then booked up and had my HT yesterday. In preliminary discussions we discussed having 3000 grafts from the back and 500 from beard. But the doc felt that 3000 was enough. On the day I had 2953 which was close enough. See the results and let me know what you think. I had about 2000 at the front, 153 on the side and 800 on the crown (roughly). Raj taught me to be very well informed so I kept pressing the doc on what I wanted. Density!!! The whole experience was actually very easy (for me anyway). The hardest part was getting here - 30 hours!! To compare it I've had root canals and a bone graft for a tooth implant. They were way way more painful. This wasn't bad at all. The doc was great, staff were great, they really look after you. I even got loads of tailoring done and they took me there - lots of pretty ladies is always a good idea. Chandigarh is nice too. Its amazing how many people come here for HT's. I chatted to loads. That's about it. Any questions let me know. Just picked up my 2 monster bags of medicines and have to be careful the next week not to bang my head. Let me know what you think of the pics. For sports people the Doc has a book which gives lots of instructions when you can do stuff: Weights - 1 week Cardio in gym - 2 weeks Swim - 3 weeks Contact sport - 6 weeks Hope that helps! Thanks to all of you for posting and your awesome help over the years.
  22. Thanks a lot for the update Jay!! I think it looks great. Sure may not be 10/10 but for your age you look like you have a good head of hair. That's what we all want ;-) Well done. I am off to india in Nov and am considering getting it done. Can only got for 2 weeks though so don't fancy having scabs on my head when I get back to work! Romy
  23. Very interesting with regards to other HT clinics in India You should become a writer btw! ;-)
