Very hard to believe nobody has gone from long term dut user to propecia/fin.

I've been on dutasteride for 12 months and then switchen to avodard for about 5 months, totalling 17 months so far. I also use niz 2% 2x/week. I've been shedding like an animal since february, and I also shed badly in AUgust last yr which lasted for 3 months with great regrowth afterwards. I've not been consisted with my doses however, because going away for the sumer I forget to take it with me. I will miss like 10-14 days and then I will come back and take like 7 dut pills for 2 days to try make up for the loss. If I come off dutasteride and get on propecia, and minoxidil will I lose a lot of hairs? Or will I go through a shed at first and regrow later all the hairs I lost on dut? If anyone has made the switch, please share your experience and mention how long you were in dut before making the siwtch, and what happened afterwards. I'd really appreicate it. Thanks.

LOL. Are you sure you're not exaggerating a little there buddy? No I really don't have time to come here and bs with kids or exaggerate. I was growing small hairs on my damn forehead and right inbetween the areas of my temple and end of eye brow. If you do a little more research you will learn that there are a large number of people who've reported the samething, not just me. If you didn't know that about minoxidil, then you have a lot to learn. Minox is like the basics. Start applying minoxidil on a small area of your arm. Come back a few later and report the growth you see.

Rogaine will grow hair anywhere you apply it. Ofcourse it works in the middle and the hairline. Rogaine cant say it does because their studies used only the crown area. I had to tie a bandana around my forehead everytime I applied rogaine because I was growing hairs on my forehead because it always dripped down.

has the shedding been continuous since day one or are the sheds in intervals? have you seen any success since starting your treatment within the year? It's possibly your hair loss is very agressive and in that case I don't think finasteride will work. You may want to amp it up to dutasteride. You'll see results with dut within the first 3-4 months, then they will go, then they will return, then they will go again BADLY and then they will return DENSE. Dut is king. Nuff said.

lol Put it like this. Technically speaking, dut, fin, minox (liquid/foam), keto, spiro... these do not cause permanent hair loss. People complaining about the loss are directing to their sheds. Sheds are expected as every drug's parent company tells you aforetime. There just isn't any scientific fact, ingredient, study, or research proving they cause permanent loss. You'll be alright, you're experiencing a shed. No worries.

no difference really between 1mg or 0.5mg. 0.5mg will inhibits 92% serum dht. don't waste ure money on taking 1mg. once u take 0.5mg dutasteride, ure next focus should be inhibiting the scalp dht. taking nizoral and minoxidil combined with dut 0.5mg is one hell of a treatment imo. ive been taking 0.5mg for 13 months now and have 0 zero sides. the monster shed laster for 3 months and stopped, the loss of libido lasted for about 2-3 months and im back to normal. the key is to not stop using it. most guys experience sheds and they stop using it and then they say it made their hair worse.

No it won't. Blondie gave explained it very well a few posts back. That's pretty much the same question that had me start this thread also. You can increase the finasteride dose to make it more effective. But combining it with dutasteride won't make it more effective. Take one or the other.

Blondie, that quote is indeed very misleading. I'm surprised that guy didn't get flamed because they're quick to flame on those forums if something misleading is posted. Stacking the two together? I don't even think the term "stack" is appropriate there. It's not a stack because the you're using the two for a specific goal. I'm an active member on one of those BB forums and I do know that estrogen is needed for muscle growth, especially when they're on "cycle". They'll supress estrogen levels but not too much by using an ai on cycle. But they'll never use the full dose. maybe half the recommended dose every other day.

Can i just ask why do you say that? don't we need some estrogen for muscle? it helps in muscle building through androgen receptor density, it increases igf-1 levels and enhances glucoe used by the muscle. This goes back to what I was saying about synergic effects of drugs, e.g. FIN (60% reduction in serum DHT) + DUT (90% reduction in serum DHT) = 90% reduction in serum DHT. Yeh, that's a perfect example.

i'm pretty sure cancer patients take aromasin at high doses at least 25mg. Taking it 12.5mg every other day is enough for us. Besides, you don't want to drop estrogen too much. And I wouldnt put too much weight on that article. By the way, I think I read in quite a few places that taking fin and dut together bears no fruit.

It's not as simple as that. You learn by knocking genes out and then putting them back. I believe that knocking out 5 alpha reductase type I is too toxic in development. However, type II mutations are found to occur naturally without major health issues. There is an awful lot we do not know about signaling in the brain. However, with more and more people using drugs like dut we're likely to learn more ??“ but likely the hard way. ha! sure, why not.

i cant say. if it's facial bloating i'd say stick with it cause sides with dut generally go away with continued use. but if it's causing swelling in ure neck that can might be serious indicating a bad reaction. if it were in my neck area i'd stop and see a doctor. if it were my face being bloated i'd wait it out. not sure if ure taking minoxidil, but minoxidil is likely to cause a bloated face.

I find it incredibly hard to believe that no medical professional is able to figure out the function of type I alpha reductase in the body, particularly in the brain. With all the technology available, cures and treatments for unheard of diseases, yet we can't figure out the function of a type of dht floating in our body? I was always under the false impression that with today's day and age we know about everything (natural) in the human body. Has no medical professional ever thought that figuring the function of type I alpha reductase may answer the lingering questions about certain illnesses and/or diseases? Regarding the dht, is there type I alpha reductase in scalp dht as well? Or is only in serum dht?

it's one of the side effects that may occur but i havent experienced anything like it.

That's actually a pretty good analogy you gave there. I once read an article discussing the use of examples to not only better exmplain things to make them easier to understand, but it's not easily forgotten either. Yours was a perfect example. Yes I'm aware of the increase of estrogen while on these supplements and i will be using aromasin to combat those issues. I dont welcome breasts or any other estrogen related issues! My main concern was the increase in test, because more test = more test to dht conversion. If my current regimen has done its just job at the moment at halting my hair loss, will things change if my test increases? If they do change whereby accelerating my hair loss, will it make sence to increase dut to 2.5mg as well to combat the extra test? I'm aware that those who are predisposed to mpb take finasteride (or dut) when they go on cycle with supplements that increase test production. However, it's never been really confirmed if they just minimized the sheds or pretty much prevented sheds entirely. Being a scientist is pretty awsome. You should be working on a cure for us.
