  1. Somewhat off tangent here, but perhaps a bit of light relief.

In the last 5 years or so, what procedure (FUE or FUT) has been most popular among celebrities?

In terms of the Euro ones I am aware of (Rooney, Cesc, Stuart Broad, Callum Best) they have all been FUE....any others to add?

  2. Not to get too much off track, but interesting that Bernstein feels that:

"In my experience, Robotic Hair Transplantation is superior to other FUE methods in that it is much more accurate and more consistent. It enables the doctor to extract grafts with less damage than with hand-held instruments or other automated devices."

  3. Disphair the essence of what you say is true, but if you review his comments, you will see he also purports to speak on behalf of all hair transplant doctors. Dr Feller speaks in absolutes and without qualification, his position is gospel. He certainly speaks from a position of authority, but in my view he presents facts as universal truths as if his experience / results with FUE are the same as all other FUE docs. This is an unfair presumption for him to make.

  4. If you are thinking about going to Farjo for FUE (which your post hints at being your prefered option) I would definitely recommend doing some more research as I haven't seen much FUE from him. Also he is not cheap, and I would suggest there are better surgeons (based on their published results) than him. First things first, are you going for FUT or FUE?

  5. Ezel asked a question about extraction and placement. Am I right to think that technicians extract grafts for Dr Feriduni?

In general, this is one of my bugbears - asking physicians how much of the procedure they do themselves. Often I've got a fairly vague answer. And it's lovely if they 'sometimes' do all or a 'majority' of the extractions and placement themselves. But every patient wants to know what the doctor will be doing in THEIR procedure.

The doc draws hairline and administers injections, techs do extractions, the doc does incisions, the techs do the implanting, all of this overseen by the doc who will check in on regular periods. That is what they do and it has obviously been quite successful for them given the mostly excellent results (no clinic bats 100%) and the fact he prob has the longest waiting list in the business.

  6. What people need to bear in mind here is that if FUSS was absolutely the gold standard, with superior yields and "pencil thin" scar lines, FUE's popularity would not be what it is these days, especially when you consider FUSS is appreciably cheaper than FUE. I honestly dont think there is anything FUSS advocates / FUE detractors can say that will reduce the demand for FUE. I'm not sure where else FUSS can go, it doesn't seem to be evolving and improving to the same extent FUE is. The thought of being "stripped out" is just very unappealing to a lot of people and the longer recovery time is off putting too. As folks who have had FUE and FUSS will attest to, the recovery for FUE is a walk in the park compared to FUSS, and its a lot easier to disguise you have had surgery too. These are things that matter to most people which is why FUE is so popular these days, and I can't see anything changing that.

  7. Here is a post from 2012 from another hair loss site from Dr Feriduni's clinic re FUE yields...

Out of my personal experience, we don't see any difference in yield between FUE and FUT in cases up to 2000 FU.

In some FUE cases, we even sometimes get a higher yield because of the "cherry picking" of the double and triple units.

In FUT we have a high number of follicular units available per session, within FUE we are limited to an amount of 3000-3500 per session.

The next image shows our personal indication in selecting patients for FUE treatments.

Please accept my sincere apologies in the delay of my response.

    Kindest regards,

    Cristian

  8. Hi Bill,

Hope you don't mind me posting this link.

(Sorry, but we do not allow links back to this website because they do not allow links back to ours)

I think it's important because it somewhat contradicts what Dr Feller is saying now about FUE.

  9. Actually I have just looked at a you tube posting by a former poster on this site can't mention his name as he's persona non grata for whatever reason, all seems a bit childish to me to be honest that his name can't be mentioned but that's another story ,I'm sure you will guess his name he has his own hair-loss website ,well anyway in the video he interviews Dr Ron Shapiro and asks him his views on the FUE versus FUT, Dr Shapiro seems to acknowledge the short-comings of FUE but actually seems to agree with what Dr Bhatti that in the right hands these problems can be over-come and that includes large FUE sessions, this guy actually raises the points raised by Dr Feller on this thread directly to Dr Shapiro

Yes I actually made the same point, but my post was deleted because I used his initials to identify him. Well worth checking out those videos, Dr Shapiro is more supportive of Dr Bhatti than Dr Feller.
