  1. I'm about two weeks post op. I'm almost out of the small bottles of shampoo and conditioner they gave me to use on my grafts and what not. Can someone recommend a shampoo that is supposed to be use post op? thanks
  2. haha thanks man. Im sure he tied some bowlines, lol Cant go wrong there;)
  3. i recently had a transplant with dr cooley. I was originally scheduled to have the prp procedure done but on the morning of the surgery, He thought that I would benefit from more grafts rather than paying the 1500 dollars for the treatment. His reasoning was because my hair is rather thick and was only receding. Don't quote me on that but that is what I took from the conversation. After seeing someone else on here that had similar number of grafts, and the prp treatment from dr. cooley. Comparing his progress to mine, he seems like his hair or grafts are growing a lot faster than mine. So I would think it's worth the gamble.
  4. thanks man I appreciate the heads up. haha yeah I definitely didn't let anybody know about my transplant. I can only imagine the hell they would give me.lol Well my original consultation was with lollie because I didn't wanna wait. She recommended 1800 grafts and the prp treatment. The morning of the surgery Dr. cooley thought It would be more beneficial for me to get more grafts rather than the prp because my hair is rather thick just receding in the front, so I just went with his recommendation. Now that I look at your pics, when you were one week post op, your grafts seem like they were growing a lot faster than mine are. Maybe bc of the prp treatment>
  5. Raymond, your hair looks excellent! I hope I have the same results as you have. quick question though. I'm about a week post op. I had a transplant with dr cooley also. Did you wait 2 or 3 weeks to have your stitches removed? Also do you have any tips on what to do and not to do at work. I'm a lineman also and im pretty worried about the hardhat and lifting heavy poles and what not at work.
  6. thanks guys for the response. I'm trying to stay positive and I will definitely keep everyone up to date on my progress. thanks again
  7. hey yall. question? I'm seven days post op now. today was the first day I could take a shower and let the stream of water hit my grafts directly. my question is about shock loss. When I got out of the shower I noticed tons of hair in the sink. Is this normal to experience shock loss seven days post op? It's kinda scary.

  13. Well after about a year of researching and debating on whether or not to have a hair transplant, I finally went through with it yesterday. I feel like I should share my journey with everyone on here because of all the reassurance that was provided to me through this site. After narrowing my potential doctors down to just three, it was a touch decision but the lucky winner goes to.........Dr. Cooley.lol In all seriousness, I couldn't be happier with my decision. The whole day was very pleasant to say the least. It was a long day, but other than that, I couldn't be happier. Dr. Cooley and his staff were very professional, knowledgeable, and polite. They were always asking how I was doing and what not. They were concentrated on me the whole day. I have read many concerns about people having hair transplants and the doctors not actually doing the work. I would say Dr. Cooley was involved in 90 percent of placing grafts and what not. If he was out of the room it didn't bother me at all. His technicians were completely capable of placing the grafts in my opinion. They were very knowledgeable and experienced. I kept asking questions and they were quick with answers;) When they were dissecting my hairs, I felt bad for them just staring into those microscopes all day, so occasionally I would ask them if they wanted to take a break but they were good to go.lol With all that said, I ended up getting 2300 grafts to my hairline and temporal regions in a fut strip procedure. I also had acell in my donor scar and on the grafts. here are some before photos and one day post op photos. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for some awesome results. time will tell:)
