  1. I have tried it, but found it too painful for me to use on the scalp, where skin is much thinner. Even if you applied some sort of numbing cream before derma rolling, your scalp will still feel quite sore for a few days. On it's own it will stimulate blood circulation, but I don't believe it will regrow hair. It may enhance the absorption of Minoxidil, so it becomes more effective. However, you would need to use less than the suggested dosage. I must admit it works really well on face scars. I wonder how effective it would be on diminishing donor scar line, providing you can tolerate the pain and soreness.
  2. That is looking really good! How many grafts did you have?
  3. Yes, I am serious. I guess anyone travelling thousands of miles to get a HT, is not going to be a 'timewaster'. The Karachi clinic might have a different policy. I have no relation to Dr Humayun or any of his staff whatsoever (lol).
  4. You can PM me and I will tell you how much I paid. I did not have to make any advance or deposit payment. I made my payment for the HT right after surgery. You don't even have to convert your US or pound sterling currency. Shahid accepted pounds at the current exchange rate prevailing at the time. I got a great deal, much better than I would have picked up here in the UK. I gave the techs a little gift picked up from Dubai.
  5. Hi Nize, It's a pleasure! I will continue to update my website monthly. When are you hoping to have your HT done? Is Dr Humayun going to be present at the Karachi clinic to create the hairline mark and make the incisions?
  6. I'm about 5 months post op and my donor scar is still quite pink and a little sore in certain areas. I have a couple of scabs that appear in the same spot all the time. Sometimes the scabs ooze watery like pus, when I try to pick them. Is this normal at this stage?
  7. I had quite a few post-op pimples, which caused considerable itching on the scalp. I applied distilled witchhazel and pure liquid aloe vera. Now, at 5 months they almost all gone.
  8. I'm on Biotin as well as MSM, Omegas and B Complex and my hair has grown faster than normal. Started seeing growth around three and a half months. I'm at the four and half month stage now and have had no adverse effects. The Biotin's strength is 10,000 mcg. I prefer the Natrol brand as it contains no milk or gluten (I am lactose intolerant).
  9. Hello Kas, I have just updated my thread with a 4 month update. Please check it. I had 2670 grafts.
  10. Here's an update of my HT at 4 months. After my HT, I experienced very significant shockloss in the frontal and midscalp region for the first 4 weeks until it stabilised. I believe this might have been due to fact that many of the grafts placed in the frontal region were inserted between existing native hairs and some of them were weak, causing trauma around the surrounding tissue and hence the shedding. I also experienced redness and irritation which was caused by pimples, so I used lots of distilled witchhazel for relief. The redness in my recipient area lasted for about two and a half months. The scar line at 4 months is still quite pink, a little bumpy in some areas and I still get scabs forming. About 5% of grafts did not fall off, especially on the hairline. Growth kicked off around the 3 month mark, but most of this growth was from the existing shockloss hairs. What's interesting is that I used my old Hairmax lasercomb to speedup the healing process of the recipient area, not to regrow hair. Once the redness and soreness was gone, I started seeing early signs of growth. I also took a daily regimen of MSM, Biotin, B Complex and Omega Oil supplements. I have attached some photos taken in normal and lighted instances that I took on exactly the 4th month mark. But as of writing the hairs have darkened and I can see tiny faint hairs growing if I look very closely. I do have a couple of concerns: 1. I feel that my hairline could have been lowered a tad little further. I do look quite young for my age and can pass off for a young 30 year old rather than a mid 40 year old guy. All my family members do not look their ages (Genetics). Unfortunately, Dr Humayun did not allow me the opportunity to review the drawnup hairline as everything was done rather quickly by him. 2. I usually have a left parting when I comb my hair, however, the hair that is growing on the left-hand side of my hairine seems to be growing at a wrong angle. See attached photo with circle around the area in question. I have voiced my concerns with Dr Humayun/s consultant who has assured me that the angle of the hairs will change during the course of time. Let's wait and see. I would welcome any comments or feedback.
  11. I have had HT with Dr Humayun back in May 2012. You can read my experience here. I will be posting my 4th month results in a about a week's time. Feel free to PM me if you need to ask anything personal.
  12. Yes, I have BIO oil, but I'm going to wait until my scar has flattened before I start applying it.
  13. Excellent progress in the frontal region. Happy birthday!
  14. I had HT performed just over 3 months ago, however, my donor scar area is quite tender, bumpy and a little sore in some areas. I still have scabs forming from time to time, mostly on my right side. Is this normal after three months?
  15. Excellent result Dr. Radha! Did the patient experience considerable shock loss?
  16. I had a lot of scabs come off with hair in them. Nothing to worry about if there is no blood. I do know what a dislodged graft looks like as I lost two on day 14 and day 15. The dislodged graft has a bulbous fleshy white end, you bleed profusely and it really feels like you have been stung by a bee in that area.
  17. This is normal, so long as there is no blood. I had many scabs come off with hairs attached to them.
  18. Woah! Incredible density in your frontal area.
  19. Here's a link to an article, I just read from the Telegraph: Baldness cure could be on shelves in two years
  20. Yes, I have one those. But found my scalp to be very sore for the next few days after use. I used the 0.5 mm needle. Very effective on my face for firming the skin , especially with the use of copper peptide alternated with ascorbic acid. Might even be effective on donor scars after about 8 months.
  21. I have used the DR shampoo with the NT nourishing treatment, still did nothing for me.
  22. Hello Newone, Where are you based? You can read my experience here: HT procedure with Dr Humayun I had a pleasant experience, but as they say 'the proof is in the pudding'. I am waiting for my results, as it is too early to post results, yet The hair lost during shock loss is beginning to come back. You have to be realistic with your expectations. Don't expect a full head of hair. "And how many days after my transplant can i return to work keeping a cap in my head for the whole day..." This really depends on how tight your scalp is after your HT and whether you have any swelling. I had considerable swelling on my forehead and top part of my nose, because of the extra shots of saline solution around my hairline. Fortunately, I work from home. I wore a cap on straight away, but be careful not to have it on too tight that it might catch a graft, I also wore a surgical cap underneath. I still wear a cap outside. I'm currently on supplements and use a Ketozonale based shampoo. If you do proceed with Dr Humayun, try and have your stitches removed by him at his surgery. If you need to know anything else, please feel free to PM me.
