  1. Hello, FUE can be done very successfully even though it does present it's uniqueness which calls for high experiential skill. Our US Hair Restoration Centers are led by our medical director Dr. Mohebi. We could provide you with an initial virtual consult if you are far from that area. He his highly successful with FUE procedures and can performs test to predict the most likely level of success for you. The fact that your hair grows somewhat straighter is more likely to be advantageous to your overall success with the procedure. We welcome your contact to see how we can help. All the Best, Michael James
  2. Hi, Your pictures do present a challenge as they do look as if they could be from different people. So my response is based on the assertion that they are you and only one person. Clearly the photos indicate a good degree of recession in the temporal areas in some angles. This amount of progression at 25 years of age is pronounced and most likely will be markedly more pronounced at age 35 without a well defined hair restoration plan. The question then remains is medication protocol sufficient. This cannot be determined by observation from photos. One of the things that most concerns me is that the use of Rogaine and Propecia over the counter or without a bona fide protocol from a specialist in hair restoration watching your progress. People react differently to medication and the risk/reward or side effects/benefits are best determined by you with the oversight of a medical doctor. Preferably a hair restoration specialist. In general observation from your pictures you may benefit from both methods being used in conjunction with one another. I certainly recommend that people address their hair loss sooner rather than later. I have noticed in our US Hair Restoration Centers throughout California young men in your peer group with similar profile do well with an HT and some limited use of medication. Get a consult from a reputable hair restoration doctor, such as our medical director Dr. Mohebi. We even provide initial virtual consults for people not near one of our offices; feel free to contact us. All the Best, Michael James
  3. Hey Mate, Many folks here -- we can empathize with your concerns. The reality is today's hair transplant surgery with the skill and art of the top physicians like those recommended here at HTN are very undetectable. The key to really giving you the best picture is having a proper and complete microscopic evaluation directly by a top hair restoration surgeon. At US Hair Restoration centers in California where I work as a patient advocate, our medical director Parsa Mohebi, MD performs the evaluation and consult. He takes extensive time with each patient. Your hair type, texture and the availability of donor hair primarily in the occipital area at the back of your head are key to getting the results you want. An honest thorough discussion can be achieved through the right type of evaluation. We see clients worldwide in our Los Angeles based surgical headquarters. Visit our before & after gallery. You may find patients whose journey seems similar to yours most importantly make an informed decision and get a full service evaluation with a hair transplant surgeon. Hope this info. helps, Michael James, Patient Advocate.
  4. Hello, I urge to immediately consult with your physician for any perceived negative reaction to any medication. Err on the side of caution and let your doctor rule out the medical treatment or confirm. Either way your health is not worth any risk. 5. Hello, the great news is that you can improve scalp laxity with exercise. At US Hair Restoration centers these exercises are taught and we get measurable results. You can watch the instructional video. Our medical director Parsa Mohebi, MD invented a simple state of the art device the laxometer that improves the exactness in measuring scalp laxity. You are correct in noting that scalp laxity does have a correlation to scar minimization. Michael James

  7. Many people elect for FUE for its advantages in less or not scarring. There are some instance with people with more melanin or pigmented skin to find slight discoloration at donor site healing. This can be more pronounced with people with darker skin. Hopefully your surgeon did a test before performing the entire surgery, this is a common practice by some physician's should they deem this a concern. Sometimes tattooing can be used to camouflage minor scarring from hair restoration. MIchael James, I server as a patient advocate with US Hair Restoration centers; where scar revision is a specialty.
  8. G'Day Mate; One of the challenges for most hair loss sufferers is setting realistic expectations. the level of apparent density. As you duly noted that many HT patients just look so much better after their transplant. Since a patient is donating hair from one area to another the reduction of density is an obvious consequence. So, the art of the science in our serving HT patients is to provide the illusion of density through artful and skillful placements of grafts by the hair transplant surgeon. Michael James
  9. It is unfortunate regarding your scarring situation. You are not alone with this challenge. The incision scar from FUT strip transplant is often a concern for patients pre and post operative. A persons genetic healing tendencies and the various levels of skill and talent by physicians makes a difference. Even the suturing of the incision is involved in the healing of the donor area and the subsequent scarring. I, work as a patient advocate for medical director, Dr. Parsa Mohebi of US Hair Restoration based out of Los Angeles, CA. In our centers we are finding an influx of patients from other centers who are distressed about their scarring. It has become one of the focus areas beyound just hair transplant surgery in our clinics throughout southern California. We will be launching a new website shortly dedicated to providing knowledge to patients and to help them mitigate the issues facing them in regards to unsatisfactory level of post surgical scarring. You might check in your area of have a phone consult with a specialist in this area like Dr. Mohebi, virtually or in-person or a recommended peer. Most of all I hope you will not be overly discouraged and that you will continue to seek a satisfactory solution for yourself. Michael James
  10. Hi Mate; Perhaps sharing some information on how finesteride proved for FDA will help you better assess your results. 48% of those treated with Propecia (finasteride 1mg) experienced some regrowth of hair, and 42% had no further loss. The medication is often used in conjunction with hair transplantation. If you are not experiencing further hair loss consider giving the treatment six months to see how effectively it is working for you. Here is some additional information for you: Propecia and Hair Transplantation Propecia (finasteride) has shown to be useful in complementing a hair transplant for several reasons: 1. Propecia works best in the younger patient who may not yet be a candidate for hair transplantation. 2. Propecia is less effective in the front part of the scalp, the area where surgical hair restoration can offer the greatest cosmetic improvement. 3. Propecia can regrow, or stabilize hair loss, in the back part of the scalp where hair transplantation may not always be indicated. The advancements in hair restoration through hair transplants are making it preferable to many hair loss sufferers. It does depend on your particular situation and the skill and artistry of the surgeon. But the latest technological advances makes it worth consideration for many men and some women. There are some good online libraries where you can review results and see what expectations you could set for yourself. Take a look at the site where i am a patient advocate just to better inform yourself. Wishing You All the Best, Michael Patient Advocate www.ushairrestoration.com
  11. Hello Usedandabused; It is disappointing to hear of your experience. As a patient advocate I am always concerned about people's hair restoration experience. It seems that a number of things need be considered to help you sort this out. Are you experiencing shock loss? Where you utilizing a medical treatment that you discontinued? These could all be a factor in your current condition. I would be interested to hearing more and to see if some advice could be offered for your consideration. Private messaging is acceptable if better for your comfort level. Michael James
