  1. mattj, the right side of my hairline is very thin, almost bald, but there seems to be some vellus hairs, and and temple seems to shows some growth as well. I've also added Biotin tablets to my daily regimen. I know it takes about 4 months to see real growth, but just the thought of hair growing on my forehead has me excited for the future newhairplease, i agree as well, I'm excited to see the results later on
  2. So I've been on Rogaine for about a month and a half. I've started to notice very small vellus black hairs growing on my forehead about a 1/4 inch below my natural hairline. I know Rogaine has some success on the hairline and temple area, and that's where I'm applying it. I'm assuming when I massage it on the thinning areas some of the excess Minoxidil is being absorbed in the forehead region. Is this a sign for good things to come?
  3. Nope, no finasteride, I cant take the chance of risking my sex life.
  4. I'm looking to possibly use FUE to thicken my hairline and bring my temples in closer. I've done alot of research on FUE and know it's difficult to extract African-Americans' hair, but it yields great results because of darker skin creates an illusion of density and also less graphs have to be used since naturally African-American hair density isn't as thick as a Caucasians'. I'm bi-racial (Caucasian and African-American) and my hair tends to grow fairly straight compared to the usual African-American hair type. The reason I want to do FUE is because I do not want to have a donor scar because I wear my hair fairly short. Never longer then a 2-guard against the grain and the healing process is miraculous. Also if preferred can doctors give you general anesthesia as oppose to local anesthesia. I'd like to be knocked out during the whole procedure. Traveling within the U.S. wouldn't be a problem, but who are some of the better doctors at dealing with African-American hair transplants.
  5. I'm going to purchase Rogaine and Nizoral along with taking biotin to combat my thinning hair. I thought of using Finasteride but the more I come on here, the more I'm seeing people talking about side effects, and honestly my hairloss isn't noticeable to anybody but me. Step by step how would I apply the Rogaine and Nizoral to get the best synergistic effect? Also during the shedding process I'm going to take dermmatch to conceal the shedding, will that in any way clog my pores and have an effect on the Rogaine and Nizoral? Thanks
  6. Thanks for the info, I looked up the percentages on the side effects of proscar, they're very low, most below 1%. I'm going to talk to a doctor and see what they recommend.
  7. I keep a pretty low grade haircut, usually 1 1/2 against the grain. So my thinning hairline isn't noticeable unless I don't get a haircut for about two weeks or longer. I have what many would consider a "good head of hair" left but I am noticing where hairline is thinning, the odd part is it's much more thin on the left side (my right). If you look very closely, there are very fine hairs still there which leads me to believe some hair can still be regrown while there's still time. I'm thinking about using a combination of biotin, minoxidil, and nizoral shampoo? Has anybody had success using these products at all and which would you recommend I dont really wanna go the route of using pills, the sexual side effects turn me off all together, and I'm no where near needing a hair transplant.
