  1. No not yet. We are trying for a child and I know the chances of meds effecting it are very slim that is one thing I won't chance.
  2. Did you build up using all the other medication as well as Minoxidil? If not how do you know its not just the Minoxidil workin?
  3. I'm new to this but I thought that dht production happened inside our bodies therefore the best way to stop or reduce it is by using propecia? How does a shampoo that claims to block dht work if it's only external?
  4. I've finally plucked up the balls to try the Rogaine that's been sat in my draw for a month! I'm only trying it on the temples as this is were I have most loss currently. I've seen various posts relating to miniaturized and velous hairs, what do these look like? I haven't put it on the rest of my head for fear of additional loss as it is still fairly thick. Are my thoughts right on this or should I take the plunge?
  5. Surely that can only be a good sign if you now have 'lots' of smaller hairs growing back in its place
  6. Also, been in the UK myself, I'd be interested to hear where you got your propecia from?
  7. I was going to post my own thread as I've actually bought some Rogaine but haven't plucked up the courage to start using it yet. I've still got a good head of hair mainly because my hair was very thick before. A lot has gone from the hair line and a bit from the crown. As it says it's not supposed to work on the hair line are you saying that has started to grow back?
  8. Thanks for the replies. I found one American website claiming to sell a months worth of finisteride for 6 dollars! They surely about legitimate?! I'd be interested to know why you choose finpecia over the other generic varieties Spex?
  9. Do you no of anyway to get them over to the UK? Even on spex website its ?200 more! Are there any recommend American website that ship to UK?
  10. That is cheap! I'm in the UK and I've never seen it that cheap. That's like 40 dollars for a year supply?
  11. Are you using the recommend dose all over your head? My hair loss isn't that bad now, its more for prevention.
  12. Do you mean local doctor? I've seen him and price for 3 months propecia was ?140 at one pharmacy!
  13. I've been various links to spex's web site to get generic visions but the site its linked to doesn't look very professional and there is quiet a few spelling mistakes. Just sending an email and electronic funds transfer also seems a bit risky. Granted they all seem cheap but is it worth it?
  14. Anybody on here had experience of it working on front and temple part of head? I've read It's only supposed to work on vertex and crown but I've also read people experiencing frontal growth?
  15. What do mean about screwing up your prostate? IF anything it can only help in stopping it enlarging in the in the first place that gives us prostate problems in the future.
  16. I'm in the UK as well. You can get a prescription for propecia from your doctor. Sadly its something you will have to pay for but you will be looking at around ?100 for 3 months supply. Different chemists seem to charge whatever they want. The only other way to get the same drug cheaper is by getting something like proscar and cutting up the tablets. Hope this helps.
  17. Don't get me wrong, its not taking him back to his thirties but he's definitely starting to get hair all over his head where he had none.
  18. I can't actually believe it, but my Dad's hair is growing back! He is 71 years old and has been the highest level on The Norwood scale (completely bald) for at least 30 years. He has been taking finisteride for about 6 months for his dodgey prostate. I'm not saying he's suddenly got a full head of hair but he definitely has re-growth all over his head. AMAZING! I've read its not supposed to work if all you hairs gone but at this rate he'll have more than me.
  19. LOL yes it was Specific, thanks and I've found all the relevant links you mentioned. Great blog as well, the meds seemed to make a big difference quite quickly? It's interesting to hear your going to see Dr Feller again for fut rather than fue. With all the media attention the likes of Rooney is bringing to this subject particularly with him reportedly having fue.
  20. Thanks Bw and Ritchie for the very informative replies. Ritchie, IF you could be a bit more specific about the place to get the 'generic' propecia from that would help. I did get a prescription from my doctor but the pharmacy wanted ?140 for 3 months supply! I haven't started taking any yet due to us trying for another baby. I've read on here that it doesn't have any effect on babies but I don't want to take that chance. Also, with Dr Farjo been recommended, why go to America?
  21. Thanks for the comments, as you can see I'm new to this. I'm trying to piece together all the information, good or bad, from here and the internet. Ritchie and BW, how successful was the propecia for you having a transplant a few years down the line? Where have you found the most efficient way of getting it in the UK? I no that people are often keen to report the side effects, particularly on the internet. What are your experiences with it? I thought fut was becoming more out dated because of more advances in been able to extract the follicles out and there been less chance of infections and in in growing hairs, not to forget the big scar.
  22. I've been reading several articles on this site and I've seen lots of references to people having fut and fue. I'm not particularly keen on the fut method as it seems to be out dated method. Are there any benefits to this over fue other than reduced cost? From What I've picked up Dr farjo seems to be the best in the UK but I believe he only does fut?
