  1. Whilst Marwan was a quality surgeon, I felt he was a little conservative when it came the number of grafts. Hakan Doganay has a great rep and most people think he is in the top3 when it comes to fue surgeons, so I thoughtn why not. John casper You state it took you several months, but then mention 15 weeks after surgery. To me that is the normal time frame, unleas im missing something. I am now 26 weeks post op with little growth
  2. Johnny 2000 Don't panic too much, many many patients have great results with Hakan. Many people start growth from 3.5 months and you can't help but compare yourself against them. This is my 4th HT and I still can't helping thinking this way!!! Xkos I believe you were the day before me!!! Mine was 21st Sept. I will try and find some pics and post soon. Johnboy71 Yes I did have a little shock loss and had bad Shockloss in the donor also. That still hadn't grown back fully either which may suggest I'm a very slow grower. It has got a lot better but still some way to go.
  3. Hi all, As the title says, I'm now 6 months post op following 2134 grafts with Hakan Doganay. I had 1400 Hairline 600 Crown 134 Scar At the moment I have had very minimal growth and am starting to panic a little. I know many Will say that 6 months is early, bit I would of expected more by now. At what time can you stop saying its early??? I'm aware of many cases where things have improved after this time frame, but am still worried Realistically I'm thinking I have 2 more months for things to happen otherwise I am fearing a failure. Would you all agree with this??? I know fue takes longer and I did have surgery a year prior to this, so may take longer due to scar tissue. Reassurance please!!!! Will post pics soon , bit there isn't much to show. Cheers
  4. Hi Ranonym, The pre-op work looks excellent and the early results look encouraging, I'm sure you'll have a great result. Dr Saifi is a great surgeon and really nice bloke, I'm really surprised he's not a little more popular on here. All the best
  5. Hi Ranonym Do you have any pre op and immediately post op pictures to use for a comparison?
  6. I only had to take my hat off for a few seconds. I told them I had my hair done and they let me put the hat back on straight away.
  7. Thanks Gillenator A wealth of knowledge as always. Do you think any ethical surgeon would do even if there is slight minaturization and I have given the ok.?? I would rather have hair on top of my hair than the sides, even if it were only to last 5-10 years, providing it would last the HT process of course.
  8. Hi Johnny I ended up taking a few extra days holiday as I was a bit concerned. I think I got away with it, unless they are all talking behind my back!! The recipient is fine now and I dont have any shockloss in the recipient either. The donor still isnt right, but much bettef than it was. Ive been told it'll take about 3 months. cheers
  9. Stop panicking you woos! you ll be fine. regards your whatsapp mate
  10. Hi all, As my donor area is pretty much depleted, I am wondering whether any doctors would consider extractions from the side of my head (outside if the safe area) I have seen a few cases on here where its been done, so know its a possibility. What do doctors take into consideration? Would they prepared to do at the patients request/risk? I dont have a thick donor supply by any means , but appear to be following in the same path as my father, who at 66 still has enough hair at the back and sides. As I am 40 years old I dont think its a huge risk. if I can get 500 per side with bht still available, I think I can be pretty much sorted. I would appreciate any comments and advice Thanks
  11. Congrats on your surgery with Dr Saifi, I'm glad it went well. I also healed very quickly when I had surgery with him, so it may be his technique or that you are a quick healer, or a combination of the both. All the best anyway!
  12. Hi I don't want to worry you, but I had the same after poor surgery in the uk. I have recently had some extracted by Hakan Doganay in Turke I know on some occasions hair may be wirey for the first year or so after a ht, so maybe you'll be lucky. If it persists then I would contact your doctor.
  13. I would say about 1 cm at the front and about 2cms in the crown. I appreciate this is still very close but I was under the impressionnit would only affect hairs in the exact region. Hopefully I am wrong,!!!! Thanks
  14. Hi Blake My Ht was on the 20th Sept, so that does fall in line with shockloss but the loss isnt quite in the area where I had work done. It is quite close though.
  15. Cheers Spanker. Its strange because my hair was looking at its best in June, now its the probably the worst its been for some time. I have just had a HT so i know it could be down to that in some areas. Does anyone know if you can shed on the Meds after being on them for a long while ? Thanks
  16. Anyone else have any comments please? Thanks
  17. Hi All, I appear to be losing quite a lot of hair at the moment and wondered if this could be down to a seasonal shed or just a case of aggressive loss? I have just had a HT, but the loss im talking about isnt in the areas where Ive had work done, so I do not believe this is to be any form of shockloss. Could this be a seasonal shed? Is this the right time of year for a seasonal shed. Also can you have shedding from meds if you have been on them for some while ? I have been on Propecia & Minoxidil for just over 2 years and my loss until the last few weeks has been very stable. I would appreciate any advice as Im really beginning to panic!! Thanks
  18. Ok thanks. Was the Hydro cortison cream for the recipient or donor The first 2 hts were strip, the next 2 fue. The firet strip was by a poor uk company which I really regret as it left me with a bad scar. I had it revised but I stikl cant wear my hair as short as id like to
  19. Hi I have no redness in the recipient area, my problem is the donor area. Do you have any recommendations for this. I have used aloa vera and voltarol under instruction from the doctor but it hasnt helped much. I have to go back to work tomorrow, a week later than planned and it quite clear that ive had something done or something is not right!! Its still very thin and patchy, which I hope will recover,,
  20. I feel as though my crown has got worse over the past couple of months, it has been pretty stable for 2 years since taking propecia, so hopefully just a shed!!
  21. Hi Simon Sorry for the delay in responding , I missed this some how. Yes it was a good experience, but im having some issues with my donor area which is very slow in healing, but I think its slowly happening now. I believe Ive also had some shock loss, so just need to give it time. Glad everything went well fo you
  22. Hi all Well ive been told by the clinic that they do a count and only extract 25-30% of grafts per cm2, so presume they would not of over harvested. Once the redness subsides they informed that it will look much better, but I still think ive had some shock loss
  23. Hairshopeing Thanks for your post, has given me great hope!!! I just wasnt expecting it. Cheers
  24. Thanks all. Any recommendations on healing the redness, I have used plenty of aloa vera gel and now Voltarol, under instruction from the doctor but im still not healing very well Cheers
