  1. congrats on the op and choosing a good doc. i was just yesterday wondering what had happened to you as i saw one of your old posts, but i am glad a fellow aussie has done the research and had op overseas. happy growing.
  2. he knows what he is doing mate, he removed mine on the 6th day and i am now 18 months post op and i am buzzing the back and sides number 2 and the scar is not visible. best of luck
  3. only regret is that i didnt do it about 5 or 6 years ago, it has had a profound effect on my life. i am now at the 18 month stage and very pleased with results, but is it absolutely perfect hair? No. Would i like to address the 'problem areas' with more HTs? Yes. Am i happy with how it is now and be happy to live with this hair forever? Absolutely! So i am unsure if i will get another one sometime in the future, but i am extremely happy i had the surgery.
  4. for those prices your best bet to head out to asia for good results IMO, Thailand or India.
  5. Hi Thin86; I stayed at four seasons at victory monument, right next to a Skytrain station only a few stops from Dr Path's surgery. I caught a cab to and from his surgery and it was about 5 to 10 mins drive. There are other hotels near by that he recommends as well. Let me know if you have further questions. JF
  6. i also got a quote here in aus but ended up with Dr Path, i paid around half of your quote (i was also quoted about that for 3500 grafts) for 4000 grafts, so the trip to Thailand was not only a good move in regards to quality results but also a financial one, but i must say for me money was not a question.
  7. mate you should be delighted, and at 6 months you are an early grower thats for sure.. since starting fin and min over a year ago, i have stopped shedding, after the HT i shed only briefly for a while then stopped. but i just went thru my yearly winter (aussie winter that is) shed that i always experience, and it has just stopped as usual. I have to say though it had a reasonable effect on my density, i had read on these forums that after an HT seasonal shedding can look pretty dramatic given HT relies on the illusion of density and any amount of shedding can look very obvious.. but i am still miles from the NW5 that i was before the HT so still loving life
  8. fark yeah Barry, coming along very nicely mate, how are you feeling?
  9. many aussies including me have gone overseas, in my opinion through hours of research it is the best option for aussies.
  10. mine lasted for up to 6 months, really bad around 2-4 months but i got to love them as usually they were followed by bursts of hair breaking through. i popped only two and they bled a fair bit so i left the rest alone. Happy growing
  11. thanks jonnnny.. i might do a pre op and now pic side by side soon, at the moment hair is feeling great..
  12. Barry for 5 months what a result!! I just compared your pre op and 5 months pics and difference is amazing.. and the best part mate you only just started. Gonna be a fantastic result!!
  13. Hi Barry; Mate your 4 month pics are looking awesome, you are definately growing earlier than i.. i think you will have a great result, now is the real fun begins. Looking forward to more updates mate.
  14. well said mate, for anyone reading this thread dont be fooled into an HT in aus by reading these one post wonderers, do your research well and speak to guys like jonnnny and I who dont have anything to gain posting here except to help other aussies by stopping them making the same mistake we almost did..
  15. 40% is what i had all over, i think it is a good balance between density and yield. your journey is just starting mate good times ahead i look forward to your updates
  16. fantastic news mate, i am happy your experience was as good as mine, sounds like you and i have similiar HTs as i was NW4-5 and had similiar no of grafts although sounds like your donor density is slightly better i am looking forward to pics and your progress, what density did Dr Path go with?
  17. Pakid21 You can always try Dr Path of Thailand or other good Asian docs, Dr Path is highly recommended on this forum and you will save big $$$ over the north american docs..
  18. during my research i didnt care about the clinics and or their consultants' posts in fact i hardly took any notice of them rather concentrated on results posted by the patients themselves.
  19. Hey JohnnieB; Its starting mate, its like the hairs are bubbling to come out with all those lumps and bumps lol.. I had a shit load of pimples and bumps and i never did anything about them, i popped maybe 2 pimples the whole time and probably 2 too many. I let them come and go as they pleased. They were never too persistant and to be honest i loved seeing them pop up as they were usually followed by a bunch of hairs breaking thorugh the surface. I do remember however Dr Path gave instructions on what to do for pimples, i am sure he gave them to you as well, perhaps bestto refer to his instructions.. Enjoy the moment, good times are around the corner mate!!
  20. Gday mate; Dr Path is very busy, which shows he is good. He does all the harvesting and also bit of planting as well, and he is in the surgery majority of the time. I dont know too much about Dr Pong but i believe he was trained by Dr Path so thats a good thing. He is not recommended on this forum as yet but i have read some nice things from posters who had HTs with him. Best to research him or consult with him or if you are not 100% comfortable book with Dr Path and wait or maybe see if he can place you on stand by in case he has a cancellation. Best of luck mate!!
