  1. dr. umar and I had a miscommunication. He was saying that I could go see another doc if I wanted to. He has offered to go another pass at it free of charge.

It's good to hear that. These are the ethics we expect from reputable doctors who are recommended here.

Good luck mate. I hope this time will be your last on the chair, and you will be totally satisfied.

  2. Hi all, I just re-read the docs email and I think its pretty clear that he is saying he would do the next procedure but that its "also" ok to consider another doc. In other words he will do it but that he understands if the patient wants to look elsewhere based on 2 tries without success.

Yes of course he is welling do another procedure but will charge money for it.

The way I look at it is that if Dr. Umar thinks the result is satisfactory after 2 procedures (one of them being touch-up) then ppl will know what to expect when they go there and there is no issues.

but if he thinks that the result does not represent his regular work, then at least he should do another touch-up or return some money back to the unsatisfied customer.

  3. If this issue is really affecting you and you wanna do something about it, you do have options. since you like your hair buzzed, you can consider one of the following:

    1) SMP: there is this company called Beauty Medical in Milan (Italy) that do temporary SMP that lasts for 2 years, i know it's kind of hassle to keep doing that every 2 years but at least it's not permanent and if you don't like it, it will fade away by itself.

    2) Do a regular FUE and keep your hair buzzed (grade 1.5 - 2).

    3) Do an HST with Dr. Gho, where there are no scars, so you have the freedom to keep your hair as short as you like (but he only does 1500 – 2000 grafts per session with 9 months waiting between sessions) but one session should be good to fix your hairline.

If your hair loss is already stabilized and you are not looking to have it short from the sides and back, then you can go for a FUT mega-session with H&W.

  4. Actually i appreciate the fact that this community is discussing this procedure with an open mind mentality, unlike some other doctors who are just ignoring all evidence and just try to insult Gho and claim that he is a scammer without providing any scientific evidence to support their opinion or even bothering to view the scientific peers provided by Gho and the strong facts in favor of HST.*

  5. Yeah it seems like ppl here not very aware of it, but on other forums there is a big hype and so many ppl talking about it.

You can either buy it as a powder and do the mixing yourself or you can buy it pre-mixed (work for 6 months). I still didn't buy any and not sure if im gonna buy or not but to me it sounds better than fin, e-quol, and other oral pills. At least it's topical.

  6. I have continued to use Rogaine Foam twice daily and Nizoral twice weekly.

Thanks for the update, are you talking anything other than rogaine foam and nizoral ?

Do you think those 2 things could work if someone decides not to take propecia ?

  7. I have read your post again and do not see data to support

your claim that "Scarless HTs are a must now in my openion".

    For who? Certainly not everybody.

Ok FUT may not be for everybody ..but what is perfect for everybody?

I really don't know why we arguing, you just supported my points. Again i was not talking about all cases and below i quote some stuff that i said in my previous posts:

You said: "I have read your post again and do not see data to support

your claim that "Scarless HTs are a must now in my openion".

    And i said before:

"BTW - having scars on the back of your head might not matter to so many ppl but it does matter alot for some ppl with high nw levels in the family or those who can't take meds and they know they might end up nw6 or nw7"

You said: "Ok FUT may not be for everybody ..but what is perfect for everybody?"

And i said before: "Im not against strip in general, but im against doctors who perform it and recommend it for everybody"

Again i was not talking about all cases, i was only talking about specific cases where patients are young, not on meds (because of sides or fear of sides) and with high norwood history in their family, and still being accepted for FUT by some doctors.

In other cases, FUT could work just great and gives amazing results.

  8. So you are claiming the elite doctors have disasters "all the time"?

I explained the case im talking about very clearly plz go back and read my post again.

However, i'll answer ur question again in case you don't wanna go back and read the post again:

So you are claiming the elite doctors have disasters "all the time"?

Simple answer is NO i don't claim that, for the following raesons:

    1) not everybody will end up being nw6 or nw7.

    2) not all patients develop sides on meds or refuse to take propecia. in fact many patients respond just fine and might maintain their native hair just fine.

    3) not all doctors accept very young patients.

    4) In my first post i said there are doctors doing this and that... I DIDN'T SAY ALL DOCTORS.

    5) if you don't beleive me regarding the support group thing, you can take a look at some of the hair support group forums and see for yourself.

  9. I see advertisements all over the place for "Scarless surgery" and they are saying the Neograft can achieve that. That is 100% false and it is false adversiting and very deceitful for the average person who does not know better. I think I will continue my crusade and call out these shady groups..

i agree with that, it's sad when you see some "doctors" still market FUE as a scarless procedure which is not true, but thanks to the internet and hair loss forums like this ppl know better now. there is nothing called scarless FUE.

In my openion, the only scarless procedure available now is Gho's HST regardless if you beleive that happen because of re-growth in the donor area (as gho claims) or just splitting hairs (as gho skeptics think).

Hopefully, we'll have dr. Carlos wesley scarless procedure available soon for more options.

BTW - having scars on the back of your head might not matter to so many ppl but but it does matter alot for some ppl with high nw levels in the family or those who can't take meds and they know they might end up nw6 or nw7.

  10. If you choose an elite doctor, the result would very rarely be "disastrous".

Let's say you go to a topnotch doc for a strip op and he accepted you knowing that you are not on meds and that you have nw6/nw7 in your family (and this case happens alot and i know because i consulted online with reputable doctors who recommended strip for me knowing my high norwood family history and the fact that i won't take propecia), so you end up with great hairline and frontal result, but a couple of years later you start losing more and more native hair and end up being nw6 or nw7 with no enough donor supply. Wouldn't that be disastrous (with unnatural patch of hair in the front area, the rest is sly from the top with a scar at the back) ??

Im not against strip in general, but im against doctors who perform it and recommend it for everybody. Even if the patient says he will start with meds after surgery, i think it's not enough for an ethical doctor to proceed specially knowing the patient family history and the possibility of sides. This is why i said the doctor should put the patient on meds first for enough time to see if it's gonna work with no sides and then proceed which rarely happens.

By the way those cases happen all the times and if you take a look at the support groups you will be shocked.

  11. I don't think the ethics in this industry have gotten any better. Take a look at the forums online and you will see horror stories of ppl spend their life trying to get back to normal.

I still see doctors accept very young patients without educating them about the consequences.

I still see strip docrots accepting patients with MPB family history without putting them on meds for enough time to determine whether the meds are working for them or not or whether they develop any sides.

I still see doctors attacking their patients if the patient complain about his result.

HT is diffrent than any other cosmetic surgery, for example if you go for a nose job and you got a bad result, you can always go back for revision till you get what you want. With HT, it's diffrent since you have limited donor and if you waste them you will most likely end up a prisoner to you bad result and scars where you can't fix the result nor shave your head and move on.

Scarless HTs are a must now in my openion where at least patients still have the option to shave and move on if their result end up being disastrous... And this option is becoming reality now since dr. Carlos weseley scarless procedure will be available early 2013 as stated in his site, and also dr. Gho's HST which is scarless is already available now.

  12. Greetings all

I am new to the forums & been reading for awhile now...anyway I am a veteran HT patient going back to the 80's with plugs from Bosley then double flap surgery at Fleming/Mayer so consequently I have extensive scarring and slightly better than horrific results. Last week I underwent a 1200 graft strip surgery (last one) to rebuild temple points and try to soften the bold hairline however the surgeon really wants no part in scar/lump or FUE repair where the flaps were rotated into place...the lumps actually make the divits from the scars look much deeper and the hair always parts there along with growing in a backward direction as opposed to forward. And since most of my donor hair has been depleted BHT will have to be an option. Hasson/Wong turned me away, Umar said 5500 grafts to start with...no one is addressing the scars other than trying to cover them up.

Any recommendations and opinions from a few more experts would be appreciated as my goals at this point are fairly modest. Feel free to comment on the pics below

Comment from one doc already "you were raped"

    very true:)

    IMHO:

If you wanna go for BHT, then dr. Umar is the one you looking for.

If you wanna try to get the most out of your donor, you might wanna consult with dr. Gho and see what he thinks about your case since according to him he can perform on weak donor area with a number of grafts less than 2000. However, you can repeat the same op many times using the same donor area (with 9 months period between sessions) since he claims that after each Op 80-85% of the donor area will regenerate and can be reused in the future.

  13. Thanks for the update!

Interesting to see Dr. Gho removing grafts from below the previous FUT scar. It looks like the extractions may have been beyond the universal donor area, and, in theory, these grafts should be more susceptible to DHT. However, it could have just appeared that way because of the placement of the previous FUT scar.

Is that gentlemen (Gerard Josling) very famous in Europe?

I read about the guy in wikipedia and he seems pretty famous in netherlands.

im not sure about the extraction site since im not expert, but other than the strip scar, i think his donor right after the third HST looks pretty impressive and dosen't look like he had 3 HST done at all.

  14. You can find the product from their official website, just open a Google page and type Folexen. You will see the first link and choose it. 10mg S-Equol is enough and do not get higher. I have been using it since last month and noticed less hair to lose around 10 follicles a day only now. Good luck.

Thanks Hariri, It seem like im gonna give this product a shot....

you didn't notice any sides while on it ?

  15. If you feel so bad about it, why don't you stay In canada for a week or so ? You can pretty much stay at the hotel the first 2 or 3 days and then you can go out sight seeing and enjoying the city for couple of days with a hat on, and by the end of the week you can travel since it won't be as bad as right post surgery. I know some ppl who did that..

  16. How it can be FDA approved and its not being made in USA. Folexen is the first S-EQUOL product in the world and manufactured in Australia. Its approved over there. Its a very safe substance and found in Soy Isoflavones products and also Soy Milk. Far East Asians produce some amount of S-Equol from daily life Soy products consuming and they are less balding than other races if you notice,

Where do u buy it from ? Also is the dosage effictive ? I was reading on other forums that you would need 100mg daily in order to get the benefit, but that would be too expensive.
