  1. Thanks for the input. Thats why I said that I had some reservations about even mentioning my concern cause I know its very very early. I guess its cause my left side is off to such a good start that I was a little concerned about the right side lagging behind, but after hearing from you guys and the clinic itself I am really not concerned at all. I cant wait to see what month 4 will look like.

You should and probably will see improvement. On the flip side, 4 months is not very long either so don't freak out if you don't see a huge improvement.

  2. I don't think it looks terrible,.. The good news is you have a great head of hair left. Go see Dr Arocha in Houston. He will line you out straight. Also, I really don't think you got enough grafts to restore the front. Had you went to someone like Dr Rahal, he could have made you look like a teenage again.

  3. Looks great…right on schedule..you are going to have an excellent result..

Funny…when Dr Rahal was starting to draw my hairline in he started to draw it a little lower and I said why don't we go a little higher to be on the safe side…

Great to see a surgeon err on the side of caution..he knows what he's doing! Top Notch!

  4. It's more broken down into FUT docs and FUE docs these days.

For FUT I would say Dr. Konior and Dr. Hasson (I am always amazed how people forget to mention Dr. K as he is one the best in world !)

my answer for FUE would be Dr. Lorenzo or Dr. Bisanga

I agree..however Dr Rahal has to be mentioned as one of the best FUT. If there is such a thing as everybody's top 5...he's got to be in it.

  5. Hello all!

Long time lurker first time poster.

I'm 28 and started loosing hair around 23. Just started propecia about 2 months back and have stopped majority of the shedding except for the normal hair shedding. If I knew what I know now I would have started propecia at 22.

After research and reading, thanks to this forum I have decided to go with FUT and have narrowed it down to 3 doctors.

    My 3 choices are... Dr.Rahal, Dr.Hasson from Hasson&Wong and Dr.Arocha.

Between these three one of them have told me I need 3000 grafts, 2000 in the front and 1000 for the crown.

I live in Texas so Dr.Arocha is about a 4 hour drive. Although I don't mind flying to Canada for Rahal or Hasson.

What I'm looking to do is fill in the crown, which will be about 1000 grafts, and then restore/fill in my hairline and temple area. I'm not looking to create a new hairline which is lower than my original hairline or anything like that. Just want a natural look back. Also will probably continue to loose hair over time so don't want to over PACK the front hairline.

Who would you recommend for what I am looking to do?

Or would you strictly base the decision on the price that these 3 clinics quote me since all three doctors are topnotch?

    Funny..

Im from Ark and Rahal did my surgery and then I drove all the way to Houston and Dr Arocha took out my sutures..

He also took me out for a few beers and dinner after that! I love Dr Rahal but you can't go wrong with Dr Arocha! He's top notch.

  6. Look at my blog....

I had two transplants done at 19&20 yo. I waited 18 more yrs and had a megaseesion done with Dr Rahal. At pre op he was concerned about getting 4k grafts because of previous work. However, during surgery he said my laxity was great and he got 4800 grafts. He then told me I had 3-4K more strip so it's all dependent on laxity. Ask your surgeon.

  7. Hi there,

I've been looking into some hair transplant surgeons whom seem to have excellent credentials (e.g. endorsements by this network, coalition members, award winner, no horror stories etc*.)

According to my research they have all certainly done excellent work. But I am a little concerned that some of them are already over 65 years of age (namely 66+), and I was wondering if this may mean a decline in skill (this is my speculation purely, with no data to back up other than a very unrelated research study).

Again, all of these people I've done loads of research on, all have done good work in the past.

But do you suggest factoring in the age of a surgeon?

Does anyone have a positive experience with a surgeon whom is older than say 65?

Would you consider it a red flag if the surgeon is over 70 years of age?

When do you think a surgeon's age should raise a red flag?

Has anyone had a positive experience with a surgeon older than 70?

Thank you for the kind responses.

*please PM me if you want to know which people I'm thinking about, I don't want to accidentally smear someone's good name

Crazy as it sounds…this was a concern for me as well..its a normal part of the process for some people…I know what you are thinking..

You want someone young and up-to-date with the latest and greatest!

  8. I started notice crusting and that hair "gravitated" into clumps around incision cites. I followed the first week post op to a T. Even only used a cup with water until today (day 9).

Question: am I just being paranoid that I'm losing donor hair? Can I wash my hair like a normal person again?

Sounds like this: This is from Dr Rahal post op instructions word for word and if this is what you are having its VERY COMMON

“Valleys” after one week, in some cases, there will be clumping of the hair which gives the appearance of valleys with no hair. This is typical and your hair will go back to normal
