  1. No Propecia, however I did try Avadart but did not like the list of side effects. I took it for a couple of months and ddn't notice any problems. It really didn't seem to do much of anything for me.
  2. Thanks for reassurance. Sure does feel weird though.
  3. I use Androgel (Testosterone gel) and my doctor gave Arimdex to counter the estrogenic effects. No problems at all and it has been years now.
  4. I am 5 days PO, and I still don't have all the feeling back in my scalp above the donor site. My physician says feeling will return to this area eventually. I am just wondering if others have had this same feeling? Thanks in advance!
  5. Yes, I can see where it would be tempting to pick at the scabs. I will start the light massage tonight and see how it goes.
  6. I appreciate your thoughts. I'm on day 5 and things are improving, swelling almost all gone and healing up nicely. I get the sutures out on Monday so I will probably wait till then to start training again. For now light cardio will have to do. Thanks!
  7. I read it and that is good advice. I will start the massaging in a day or two. I have been talking 2 showers a day and lightly applying the shampoo they gave me then gently flooding the scalp as explained. Thanks for sharing!
  8. I am at the end of the 4th day and I know it is too early to think about scabs coming off, but I do have one that is about the size of the end of a pencil eraser. Is this going to hard to remove or have a hard time coming off?
  9. Wow, you just described all my symptoms. I was prescribed Prednisone and told to sleep at a 45 degree angle which I did. However I just thought none of that was working as the swelling kept on getting worse. This is day 4 and it has finally started to go down. It just worked its way down my face and now I have some bruising at the inner part of my eye near the bridge of my nose. A little puffy on the sides and enlarge bag under one eye, but this is a improvement! I appreciate the support and comments. This board is about the only place I can go to talk to someone other than my wife. It helps to know this happens to other people as well. Aloha
  10. My surgeon is Dr. Shim Ching of Asia Pacific Plastic Surgery Inc. I did not have many choices here in Hawaii, and too busy to travel. He did give me guidelines spelled out day by day and I was told about the swelling, just didn't expect this much. I will be calling him tomorrow with plenty of questions. I go back in 1 week for the suture removal, which by the way is doing great.
  11. Sorry for all the questions, but is sleeping at a 45-degree angle doing me any good? It hasn't helped with the swelling at all, because the swelling is due to the fluid injections. Thanks. Appreciate any advice or feedback.
  12. Is there anyway to expedite the passing of the swelling? Mine has moved down from my forehead to my eyebrows and now to the bridge of my nose which is partially affecting my vision. It sure feels lousy. One ongoing headache! I did try the head band and I think it is too late for it now as it is already too low. Thanks for any comments.
  13. I do feel lucky for having the hair that I do at my age. It just seemed that over the last 2 or 3 years I have become self conscious of my hairline. I guess we are never too old to be vane.
  14. wb280 or anyone, do you think it is too late to try a headband?
  15. We are all so different. Some of us are certainly more self conscious than others. I have friends who have 5 times the hair loss I have and it doesn't bother them a bit. There is just not one right answer. I'm just doing what I want to do to make myself feel better about my self. For me it is no different than working out to keep my body looking good. I'm only 3 days PO so I have no idea what I will gain from this . But when I do I will share my thoughts. JMO
  16. I guess I just want to get the most current thinking on this subject. I can't stand not working out or at least doing some cardio. I have read many different opinions. I was told to lay off for 6 days, and go easy until sutures are removed at 10 days. Any comments are appreciated!
  17. RC West, it is freaky. I'm looking a bit like a Klingon from Star Trek. It has moved down above my eyebrows now, but my full forehead is swollen. It is morning day 3. Atomic, you are correct, icing hasn't helped at all! Is it just a waste of time? wb280, no I did not get a headband. Is it too late to try one now? I will call my doctor as well. Thanks for the support guys!
  18. It has been almost a year since anyone has talked about Revivogen (I think ). I started using it before my HT and will probably go back on it soon as I can. Has anyone had any new experience with it? Thanks in advance.
  19. I'm turning 64 and just starting to thin and show hair recession, not really too bad, but I felt if I don't do it now in another 5 or 6 years I just might not care. I did hear of one guy my doctor told me about that decided to have the procedure and he was 89 years old. He got it done and it came out pretty good, but he died a year later.
  20. Thanks for the reply. It moved down from my upper forehead to my lower and is now putting some pressure on my eyes. Been icing it but it doesn't seem to help much. Thanks again..
  21. Well I would love to answer you but I won't know for awhile. Just got mine on Thursday and all I can say right now is that it was more painful than I expected. Now my forehead looks a bit like an alien. I guess I have to just go through the process of time.
  22. I notice I have gotten no replies, am I posting in the wrong area? And can someone tell me why am I getting messages from :miss africa, miss daisy etc? What the heck is that about?
  23. I am new here and not sure if I should be starting a thread for my questions. I am 2 days out of surgery 2000 grafts all in the front of my hairline. I was swollen for the last 2 days but today I woke up and my entire forehead is swollen all the way to my eyebrows. Feels uncomfortable and I have been icing it but doesn't seem to do much. I guess I am just looking for someone who has had the same thing happen to them after surgery. How long will the swelling last? Thanks much! Russ
