  1. 1500 in 4.5 hours Thats amazing work I have a question for Doctor Feller or anyone who can answer this... Do you do all the graft removal yourself or do the technicians do that and you only make the incisions.
  2. Ok not question more like questions I have had small strip sessions so far totalling only 1200 grafts and I would like to consider FUE for my vertex to thicken up some thinning patches as I am not really too keen on a big mega session and with the scar not being huge currently on my head I still possibly have an option to shave my head later down the line (I am sure we have all had this debate in ourselves) So... What makes a good FUE candidate. Since I am of asian origin I have medium maybe coarse (not sure exactly) diameter hair shafts and I heard that FUE is relatively good as with the straight hair the follicular units are easy to extract in the hands of a skilled surgeon of course however I understand density is lower and therefore that is a negative that most Doctors say (or am I mistaken) and makes you not so great for FUE My other concern for strip is later in life my sides and back start to thin (esp again asian hair its straight and its ok after showering now but lets say I do not wash it for a few days since its straight hair it can be a little see through from oiliness) I am hoping Doctor Feller or Spex or someone might chime in here or Doctor Charles (I see them often on here which is fantastic). If a patient has minor thinning in the vertex area will you urge them not to undergo FUE and is it case by case. I really would like to address the top vertex via FUE due to not totally removing the option of shaving should my hair loss be really really bad and the idea of being a norwood 6+ and not having enough donor via strip to make my head look respectable without the major comb over (I really would prefer to shave it)
  3. That is not good it means you have lost all those transplanted hairs and have wasted all your money and now no donor left Joking. Normal to shed the grafts. They go into a resting phase and in 3-6 months (depending on if you are a good grower) new fine hair will start to grow and thicken over time
  4. Thanks Future Doctor I also need opinions do most doctors shy away from planting in between healthy terminal hair in the states I had a small graft session done but I worry the doctor over here in Australasia is very conservative or do you think thats a really smart move Im thirty three and he states im an early norwood 3 only with thinning up front but not in need of surgery in other thinning areas as yet but I just feel thinner up top but to get a second opinion is super hard when Doctors over here in New Zealand are few and far between and only do small sessions
  5. To go from a Norwood 3 early stages to a Norwood 2 Stab in the dark as there must be an approximate number
  6. You my good sir are an example of what I would like to be (thinning at sixty four) But I guess an example of how it affects men of all ages (Im assuming less men at your age but nevertheless still affect some)
  7. Im just wondering opinions on when are you too young to have a Transplant How long should someone wait (how thin do you need to be really) I dont understand how a Doctor can do surgery on a twenty two year old guy knowing the high risk he will be a NW6+ All the videos of people I see that are super satisfied have undergone surgery when their hair loss was very stable and they appear to be older but I notice alot of young guys doing FUT sessions like no tomorrow and I wonder how many might regret that as they age or whether thats just not the case (Im hoping its the latter im thirty three)
  8. My biggest concern I guess was if getting a mega session done obviously you have a large thin scar and gauging whether you will thin in the donor drastically by looking at your Dad or you Mums Dad etc or has science proven to a point each person is an individual and we dont exactly know Id love to get a mega session on top just have the concern that my donor area well who knows how good it will be in the future and I guess that is key looking into the future isnt healthy as you can fill your head with negative thoughts Another theory based question for anyone is take your age and whatever balding level you are and would you do an FUT megasession to gain 20 years of your self confidence and life back but after those twenty years you thinned all over and you could see your scar and I guess I mean what age do you think you need to be to no longer care
  9. Hi there first time poster Im wondering if everyone here can give me an idea whether they have any regrets over the Hair Transplant and results And whether later in life do you guys worry about the scar showing through the donor area And how many use toppik to create a denser look for your new found hair
  10. Hi Albion71 how many grafts did you place they say the fairer hair people have greater chance of density however that weighs off against the quality of your donor hair plus the texture plus if you have fine hair youll obviously need more grafts to achieve your desired density but looking good
  11. Nathan,

Thanks again! I appreciate the kind words. Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM), is an organosulfur compound that some believe helps to promote faster hair growth. I'm on my second bottle but will probably discontinue use when it runs out because I'm not seeing any noticeable effects.

You can read more about Saw Palmetto here: href="http://www.regrowhair.com/non-surgical-hair-loss-treatments/can-saw-palmetto-really-reduce-hair-loss/">Hair Loss Q&A Blog,

In a nutshell, it's considered to be a mild DHT blocker but in my opinion should not take the place of finasteride.

  12. David, lighting or not looks great and im sure the second transplant will give you great density and further frame your face, Im from New Zealand otherwise Id be at your twenty first next year haha, question what is MSM exactly and have you tried Saw Palmetto im trying to get opinions on it and whether anyone has had any success

  13. Good luck Blake, I know how hard it is worrying about hair loss, wondering how far and fast it will progress but do realise that medical advances have come some way to atleast give us some options moving forward, and when 2012 Mayan prophecy comes true we wont be here anyway so hair wont matter ;)

  14. Nathan,

Thanks! I appreciate the compliment! To some degree the lighting is making my hair look better in my profile pic but I can't complain. I'm now almost three months into HT #2. Hoping for better density.

I understand completely what you mean by obsession. In the realm of afflictions, hair loss can seem a petty concern to those who don't have to deal with it but it can really break a person's spirit.

Best of luck and let me know if I can do anything for you.

    David

  15. Thanks David, I look forward to talking to others about their experiences and journeys. Im also on here to try and curb my obsession with hair loss and try to deal with my own form of crazy. For mine Im still thinning and Ive been told ive got recession in the temples no doubt but the top is still too thick at this stage to perform a hair transplant, I know ive thinned there also, I guess its just been depressing knowing the hair loss for this time is going one way, but I guess if I can hold onto whatever I have hopefully advances in technology and medication will only get better over time

Your hair looks fantastic by the way

    Nathan
