  1. Hey everyone! I saw my dermatologist yesterday and he told me that Fin was not causing my Cycstic Break outs! It will be from the biotin I am taking in my Mutli-vitamin it was too strong a dose for my body! I have been giving some antibiotics, an acid face mask to apply at night to help reduce scarring and some spot serum to tackle the nasty red guys! This makes me super happy about Fin- I have cut down the amount I've been taking. I was on 5 mg then went to 2.5mg but now I have reduced to 1.25mg a day...just to save on money etc.... Pics of my hairline to follow soon as I get my camera fixed!
  2. Very nice DBZ reference haha! This is the reason that I am considering FUE, being an actor it gives me more diversity in a role that I can shave my head and not have the strip scar. I understand having the small holes but they are much less noticeable!
  3. I was using the one off Amazon but I found a better brice at my local Sam's Club and it was easier to pick up then have to wait for the post. The only side effects that I found was the initial shedding with Minoxidil but that's to be expected. It's been great for retaining what I have so far and def encouraged more growth even around my temple points. I've now been taken Generic Fin for the past 3 months with no negative sexual side effects, however I have had a bit of a breakout of acne...this may have been caused by the Biotin in my Multi-Vitamin however, I have stopped taking the multi-vitamin and will be seeing a dermatologist tomorrow to assess the situation. I'm happy to see such a result after 5 days! Looking forward to seeing the preop pics. What was Dr. Rahal's opinion on future hairloss for you?
  4. Looking great Bowser! Do you have any preop pics or the consultation pics? How long did the procedure take? Are you currently on any meds? I am saving at the moment to get a procedure and love Dr Rahal's work!
  5. Gasto- I decided that if it comes in 5mg form then it must be safe to take...I know a little naive but thought I would try it. I;ve recently taken the dosage down to 2.5mg and I have noticed less breakouts...however I think I may go for the 1.25mg soon just to see if that helps!
  6. Amazing result! Looks like a perfect case to me! That's motivated my to really work on my savings and finances and contact Dr Rahal for a fue procedure too!
  7. Wow! What an amazing transformation for such a small amount of grafts. Do you have any pics of his immediate hairline? Also was this a FUE of FUT case?
  8. Newhair- I really hope so too! The growth that I've experienced over the last few months has me so excited to see them get thicker! Fingers crossed I can get this skin issue taken care of. I do have an appointment with a dermatologist next week too, perhaps they can perscribe me something to take care of this with no side effects for hair loss lol!
  9. I'm sorry that you expereienced such negative side effects. I have noticed ALOT of regrwoth on my left temple (Pics to follow tonight) and some on my right but I see new hairs arriving in my currently hairline and further (the little whispy white guys) My skin has started to clear up because I changed my regime for skin cleaning and it's really working, Hopefully a couple of weeks it will be done. I have also reduced my does to 2.5mg a day for the past week, taking it in the morning rather then at night too. Still taking 3000mg of MSM, a mutli vitamin, 10,000mg of Vitamin D and 3000mg Omega 3 fish oil capsules. Overall the hair quality of my hair has become nice and shiny, it's thicker, looks fuller and in general I have very little shedding in the shower or when I brush my hands through my hair viciously! Looking forward to the next few months! The area's that expereinced shedding have become less noticable too!
  10. Well my skin has started to clear up with a different skin regime...Yes to carrots is the cleanser and moisturizer I'm using along with tea tree oil and my skin has certainly become less red and I have suffered less breakouts..hopefully in the next few weeks eve rything will be cleared up. On a hair note...I wil take pictures tonight, my left temple is really getting a lot of new growth and my right has some...no where near as much but it's working! Can't wait for a few more months when the hairs become thicker!
  11. I can not wait for this result! hairline looks very refined and suits his head shape very well. What was the age of the paitent?
  12. fra03- In my experience I have been on Minoxidl 5% by kirkland for the past 18 months and have not noticed any side effects anywhere. Initially I had a shed peiord but that's usual for minox as the hairs grow back thicker. They cause all the Telogen hairs to fall out quickly...but that means that they go into the Anagen stage earlier. Once the shedding stopped (took about 4 months) I had exeprience siginifanct regrwoth on my temples. I then started recently Finasteride and have also experienced no side effects except pottentially some breakout issues with my skin...however that could also be because of my lack of exercise right now and diet. It has steadily gotten better since I started taken additional Vitamin D3. But I have had a significant amount of new hairs grow and each week are becoming darker, thicker and denser! Will upload some photo's tonight. I understand the skepitcism in starting any medication, I was wary for a long time to start Finasteride, but after a LONG debate with my self I thought I would try it. Minoxidl I've only heard on here a few cases where it seems to cause ED but I also am unsure whether this is also from psyhcological issues. Transplant wise- use this forum throughly there are some amazing stories on here and also some horror sotries. Research is key!! Consult with at least 3-5 of your top coalation doctors in regards to what they can offer for you, whether FUE or FUT would be the best candidate. I highly recommend that before you go ahead with a transplant try Finasteride and Minoxidil for at least year and then asses your situation and I'm sure the Doc's will also mention the same thing. I'm currently waiting to see my results from Finasteride after a year so that I can asses my situation regading a transplant. Def upload some pictures so that members can help you with their suggestions and also speak to people like Spex and MattJ who are represtatives for some Doctors.
  13. Chrisdav, Thanks I will certainly look into that. Have you had any side effects from roaccutane? Silly questions is it a pill or a cream?
  14. Do you have photo's of your current hairloss? I recommend it however I seem to have a recent break out of acne from it...perhaps I took too high a dosage (5mg) and currently have recession in my temples and front 3rd....but with a regime of Minox and Fin everything is growing back...even with the shed period
  15. Thanks lol! I am thinking about reducing my dose to 2.5mg every day or maybe every other day. It could be that I need to restart my gym regime to work the testosterone....I'm honestly super mad that I look like a teenager again. How about yourself fincarred? Future_HT-any thoughts on finasteride and acne?
  16. So I am having severe breakouts with the finasterdie 5mg/day dosage. I'm also taking 4000mg MSM, 5000mg Vitamin D3, 3000mg Cod liver Oil and also a multivitamin. See below for pictures of my breakout. Will up load some of hair loss shortly too. Still however no negative sexual side effects,
  17. Does anyone know if Finasteride can cause severe acne? My skin used to have 1 or 2 minor breakouts a week but now I'm having severe breakouts! I've been on fin for the last 3 months and have noticed it steadily get worse each day. I'm currently taking a dosage of 5mg a day...although my hair is regrowing...I'm now scared I'll have horrible acne scars. Has anyone else had this side effect? P.s. I;m 24 years old
  18. I'm coming up to 3 months on generic FIN (Sam's club) and I have had significant shedding in my frontal crown area, however I have noticed alot of new hairs sprouting on my hairline (very fine white guys) so I'm assuming that they are on my crown as well I just can't see them as they are too thin right now. Good luck with it and I recommend sticking with it for at lease a year! (that's what I will be doing before assesing my situation) How is the rest of the transplanted hair growing though?
  19. Today on my weekly inspection for my hair I noticed something remarkable....EVEN MORE little white wispy hairs!! They're starting to grow in around my peak and also my temples are brining home a lot of little guys and they have slowly got darker!! Although I still notice that my crown has thinned dramatically since I started Fin I'm still holding up hope that this will be sucessful and regrow those hairs...although it is a little disheatening at times, but I'm only 3 months into taking Fin and not expecting any huge dramatic changes till the 12 month mark. I'm still taking 5mg a day with 0 libido or sexual side effects. I am still having minor breakouts...however I'm not sure if that is beacuse of my lack of exercise right now and diet. I am changing my supplement intake I am going to be adding 10000mg Vitamin D and 4000mg MSM to my regime. Pic to follow soon!

  21. WELCOME FRA03!! I highly recommend that you start a regime of Minoxidil! It certainly has slowed my hair loss and even caused some regrowth. I have 2 threads documenting with pics of my stage with minox and now with finasterdie and minox together. Do you have any current pics? It's best that way so forum members can give you their personal recommendations. How long have you been losing your hair? Also why are you skeptical to try Minoxidil?
  22. Ok so the pics aren't the best quality...however I will try to take more tomorrow.
  23. With the Minox it stabalized around the 3 month period, the fin is starting to stabilize a little over the 1 & 1/2 months / 2 month mark. So only time will tell how well it will work out. I haven't tried the foam...I really want to and I know that they will be releasing the generic version in Feb 2012. The liquid as great as it is does take a LONG time to dry and is also a little oily. What are you currently using Sean?
  24. I've been thinning on the front part of my scalp and temples. The crown is pretty thick and the rear of my head is like a jungle lol. I completely understand how you feel about being depressed about it. The best thing is though that you are taking action now to try and prevent any further loss! I would certainly say that the existing natural hair has gotten thicker, although I've only applied minoxidil to the temples and center of my widows peak. It certainly has helped thicken and renew some of those hairs. I noticed after a year of just Minoxidil that I had reached the max potential for that regime, so that's why I decided to go for Finasteride as well. You've got a great regime so far and if you do decide to try fin then I hope that you're not one of the unlucky few! I'll be posting some pictures of updates today/tomorrow for the last few months. I;m going to get my haircut to the same style it was before, just for continuity reasons and comparisons.
