    • Things I didn’t fully anticipate:

Slightly decreased density on the back and sides, though undetectable by the rest of the world, was noticeable to me, especially after a hair cut when the familiar “bristle” feel on the sides and back was “less bristly.”  At this point I resolved myself to limiting to one procedure, successful or otherwise.  Appearance did not differ.

I noticed this as well after a 1K FUE.  Not necessarily a bad thing as it balanced out the density between the top and the sides, but the decrease in donor density is certainly more appreciable with FUE than after multiple FUT's.

Either way, this is a natural, age-appropriate hairline.  Excellent result!

I always thought that it was pretty much just age related thinning (i.e. not MPB) and some miniaturization (though in theory, if your donor was unstable, an ethical doctor wouldn't give you a transplant).

Like the timeline for that would be in the 10+ year period right?

Dr. Wong speculated whether there's something in the recipient region that led transplanted hairs to thin out over time.  Age related thinning and donor miniaturization explain some, but not every instance of transplanted hair thinning.

I see your point though, there was no dense packing done and the hair grew perfectly for 3 years, how would it be that was has worked well for that long stops working?

A handful of top tier docs have stated in recent interviews with Melvin that HT's can thin over time.  It may or may not be your situation, but it is impossible to say without pics.  The best advice I can give you is to get another transplant to improve the situation.

You see posts of people with extremely good results and those not so good but it all comes down to genetics, type of hair, doner amount, graft quantity etc and not the actual skill of the surgeon itself. After all the procedure is pretty much the same wherever you go. Any trained Doctor should be able to carry out the procedure just as well as another?

    🤣😂🤪

  5. Just one FUE surgery and you're already over harvested.  Unfortunately, I'm not sure you have much to work with anymore.  Where do you live?  You should consult with multiple elite docs in person to see if anything can be done.  Strip is out of the question since your donor is see through.  Beard hair is fine and dandy but it isn't going to fully restore a NW6.  You could feasibly do SMP in the donor region to balance things out.  You're definitely in a pickle.

  6. Nizoral is great, but don't use it daily.  Once or twice a week is enough.  I would also recommend Neutrogena's tar based T-Gel once or twice a week.  Simply applying organic aloe to the scalp can also sooth things.

Edit: I did have an allergic reaction to minox.  So that could be the situation if your face and eyebrows are itchy.  Apply minox minimally or consider stopping it altogether.
