  1. Just a quick question for you gym rats. Does anyone here wear dermmatch or toppik while working out? I usually wear a skull cap but it does get annoying. I know that dermmatch doesn't easily come off with just sweat or water. But I'm afraid that if I wipe my brow that I would smudge it around the hairline. I'm not the baseball hat wearing type either. Thoughts?

  2. You may or may not be ready to show off your scalp 10 days post op. You may be a fast healer. But if you are a slow healer than dermmatch is a must. It is has been my saving grace since I've been a slow healer and grower.

On another note... 3k grafts for a FUE procedure seems awfully large. Dr. Rassman says that the largest FUE session he has done is 2,500. And he pioneered the technique.

  3. As anyone tried a little dermmatch or any other concealer with their facial hair? I was curious the other day and applied a little dermmatch to my beard and it looks to be working like a charm. Just a really thin layer appears to diminish the splotchiness of my beard and it looks more full. Anyone else try this?

  5. From what I hear, dreadlocks can cause traction alopecia (i.e. more hair loss) because of the pulling and tugging of hair. So it might be in your best long term interest to cut the locks off whether you do a transplant or not. And there is no clinical evidence to show that topical finasteride is as effective as the pill form. So I'd get on the real thing first of all to keep what you have left.

  6. I wore a baseball hat the next day after surgery. But I did have plastic wrap placed on top of the recipient site so the hat wouldn't touch the grafts directly. The hat didn't cover my scar but it didn't need to. My hair was long enough to cover it and the scar was pretty thin with no shockloss.
