  1. JC, sorry to hear your story man!! I had the same thing of permenant shockloss from my first HT. My good stuff was lost! It was a terrible experiance, I watched myself go through. And the timing was aweful... I had just lost my job. I went through so much depression, which probably added to it! I, did however, pick myself up and regained hope! I got another procedure, after I found a job. I didn't let it bring me down. It wasn't worth it. Unfortunetly, that was another let down.... But, I thank god I found this site when I returned home from my second procedure. I don't know how I would have dealt with it, if I didn't realize that real hope that was out there! I curse these doctors that mis-lead and bring false hope in what they belive are ethics! Don't give up brother!, I've been there, as many others! And if you try hard enough, you'll bring yourself through!
  2. yup, best of luck man.. Hope to hear you come back and singing a different story in about 6 months!!
  3. don't forget proscar, as a replacement to propecia. Proscar maybe covered under medical plans, and you can cut it into quarters, to last 4x as long of a supply.
  4. Sounds like post op depression to me... TrOpic00, Of course it doesn't look much different.. It's only been a few weeks. Where do you expect to be after only a few weeks. It takes time for everything to grow out, and up to a year to see the final results. If they filled in your temple area, then your hairline isn't high at all. As for a straight hairline, I don't think you are being honest and truthful to yourself. Personally, about 10% of the people I know have the "straight hairline" you are referring to. That means 90% do not. I think you really need to re-evaluate what your realistic expectation is, and look out into the open world of the not straight hairlines. You'll be fine in the end, and noone will notice.. You may even look back and say to yourself, what the heck was I bothered by.
  5. No, 3 is not the limit. It all depends on the number of grafts removed. There are guys on this forum who have had 6 done. I would say 3 probably would be a limit if you had all mega sessions done. But decent laxity could yield you possibly 4 strips. This would all be a case by case question.
  6. great to hear man.. Sounds like it might be time for a hat burning party! Pic's show some great progress! Good for you!
  7. Congrat's Ron, I hope you will keep us all updated with your progress!! I am truly happy for you!
  8. nile, you have to upload them to the web. This site offers a photo album, but I prefer www.photobucket.com It will give you the HTML code to cut and past into your post, then it will appear. It's pretty simple. Hope that helps.
  9. I don't think the world could handle another one of me.
  10. You are always posting excellent and honest advise!! You are truely someone we all can ask and relate too. Thanks for that... I have a personal question for you. Could we see some photo's of your hair. You truely offer the best interest, and I think I am asking for all in this. Thanks man... If not, it's cool!

  12. nile, do you have any photo's you could share? We would really like to give you a solid honest opinion!
  13. forest, nothing from personal experiance. I have heard great things. I'm sure GratefulHead would be more than gald to answer any questions for you if you send him a private message. Here's a start.. http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums?a=tpc&s=5696015661&f=5466060861&m=316104147&r=682108347#682108347 and http://hair-restoration-info.com/eve/forums?a=albumcomments&s=5696015661&f=1466060861&m=191107437&r=689100247#689100247
  14. I would have to believe, between the anesthetic, the lack of solid foods for breakfest, may have been the culprit. Coffee, i think, pushed you over the edge. Since the coffee has caffine, that raises your blood pressure. Then add lack of substance to what you ate, along with the anesthetic. Perfect mix for what happened. LOW BLOOD SUGAR. Now for someone to say it is common, I disagree with that. I think they may have been just trying to help you feel better about the whole situation. Sitting up is normal during a procedure, and really shouldn't make any differance. Everything sounds ok. But word of advise for everyone going under the knife. There is a reason they say to eat breakfast before surgery. I guess they should clarify it better though.
  15. Bill, your scar looks excellent for only 4 1/2 weeks out!
  16. hey guys, welcome to the forum! Believe it or not, there are real options for you. Check out this picture.. I think you'll both relate. Now check out what is being done! The old plugs are being removed, without frontal strip, using tiny punches. Along with 2,000 follicular unit graft donor strip. This was performed by Dr. Glenn Charles in Boca Raton, Florida. Hope this helps you out a little. You do have options. Just read and ask. And here is a 3 month post op update!
  17. jimmy, at the 5 month mark you can expect to see 50%. But this is just a rule of thumb. You could be farther along than most, or not as far. So, yes up to a year to see full growth. Also you can expect the hairs to fill out in density themselves over the following year.
  18. Robert's (moderator) post is outstanding!! But I do want to say this. We at times have to bair a cross. And it is true, how you make of it is best. But for some, it is extremely hard without support. If we could all handle everything that is dealt to us, then it would truly be a perfect world. But it's not. I've personally have learned dealing with one hard ship, only amplifies a dedication torwards something else. So are we losing, well yes. But are we also gaining what ever our refocus is on. ABSOLUTELY. It is up to us all to take in what we learn from our experiances, and try to make the best of every outcome. That is only human. Should we ever fault ourselves for feeling a failure or less a man... NO!! Instinct involves sorting out all posible solutions and try to remedy the best positive solution. This is why I believe we are all here! Robert, excellent post!
  19. let's just say, heavy lifting as when you feel your body tighted up to lift something. You could start to cause your donor scar to stretch. That is something you definetly do not want to happen!
  20. Bill, at 1 month, start shampooing as you have always did. You are not going to hurt anything. If it doesn't look like you had a transplant after a month, then great! Those grafts can take upto 3 months to start showing. It's a tough ride, but you'll make it through it. Live your life to your own normalsy. I would just take it easy with any heavy lifting for now, because of your donor scar. Give it another month for that. That's just being safe.
