Regular Member austx Posted January 10 Regular Member Share Posted January 10 Hello everyone, Here I am wanted to share my HT experience with Dr. Nader.First of all big thanks to this community for the knowledge and support. If not for this I would have ended up in some hairmill in Turkey for sure. I've learned many details about HT. After doing a great deal of search on hair transplants, procedures, results decided to take the plunge. Im 45 old male from Austin,TX with bald crown and receding hairline. Noticed crown thinning from last 8-10 yrs. Never on any medications for hair loss, which I should have looking back. Even though my hairline recessed, my main concern I wanted to address is crown. Also I wanted to fix my hairline if its possible. After reaching out to few doctors, going back and forth, decided to go with Dr. Nader. Great reputation along with location made me choose Dr. Nader. My hair loss situation is similar to @GoliGoliGoli. When I reached out with some questions, he kindly answered. Thank you! Received evaluation email of 12/29 with calendar link. When I checked I saw a slot open for 1/3. Booked the surgery for 1/3/24. Drove to McAllen on the evening of 1/2/24. Checked in at Cambria, which is at a discounted price for Nader's patients and $300 reimbursement. Next day morning had a nice breakfast and waiting in the lobby. Mirtha picked me at the hotel at 8AM and reached to the clinic around 8:30. Planning: After filling out the paper work I was greeted by the man himself, Dr. Nader. He took me to his office and we talked for 45- mins to 1 hr. Im feeling pretty comfortable already. It was a genuine conversation from a person who is passionate and really care about his patients. Initial estimation from my pics was 1,500 grafts for the frontal area and temples, and around 1,500 grafts for the crown for a medium coverage. But being a "worst salesman in HT industry" (😃), he advised to do only crown and not to go for frontal coverage. With adding medications after the surgery I may have my thinning area filled up. If I dont respond to medications,I think I'll have another surgery in future if needed. I liked the plan. So a 3k grafts surgery day is now 2k grafts. After drwaing the iconic grid, the plan is to implant 1960 to crown. If I remember correctly it is about 35fu/cm2. Moved to a room, shaved my head. He actually gave me option not to shave but I asked to shave if that gives them more access to extract/implant. From there moved to extraction room where I lay down on my face, given anesthesia, extract on back. Turn to oneside - extract, another side - extract. I only felt little pain 2-3 times in the whole extraction process. The most concerned part for me went very pleasant. I even fell asleep and snored couple of times(Sorry Dr.). Then moved to another room with a dentist chair and TV where I had the famous tacos. Implantation is in the same room. This went like a breeze. Did not feel any pain in this process. zero pain I would say. Staff cleaned the area well and wrapped with brown bandage. Nader took me to the office room and explained all post care instructions. He actaully implanted 2005 grafts (45 more than planned) but did not charge for the extra grafts. Provided me meds, saline spray, and the shampoo. He gave his whatsapp number and been in touch since then answering to my updates. Singles: 210 Doubles: 1140 Triples: 610 Quadruples: 45 Punch diameter - .83 Results will tell in future but now Im really impressed with Nader's treatment and I very happy with the procedure. I would 100% choose again and highly recommend Nader. PRE OP: OP DAY: POST OP: DAY0 FIRST WASH: DAY

Regular Member austx Posted January 18 Author Regular Member Share Posted January 18 2 Weeks: Scabs are off. Had itching around 1 week mark. Applying Olive oil as per Nader's suggested relieved the itch. Back of head is still little sore when I touch it. Especially while sleeping on my back. Is it normal? hairtacct
Am I reading that right? You got your consultation reply and were able to book an appointment for a week later? Any tips on how to get Dr. Nader to reply? Been trying to get put on the calendar for a few months now. Also, do you happen to remember what his availability looked like for the second half of this year?

My response is 2 weeks later so I don’t know if you’re still having some pain back there but even if you are it’s extremely normal for most guys to report pain back there during this time. I can only speak to pain from strip. But a lot of accounts on the forum report pain in the donor sometimes upwards of 3 to 4 months post-op. Pain has reduced very much but there is still little pain. Good to know that it is common.

AlexHtown
What was your method of getting into contact with Dr. Nader and his office? I've reached out twice, one with the consultation form on his site, and last Monday with a follow up email. No response. I know he's pretty busy and highly sought after, so any help would be appreciated!

They both have different mechanisms that work really well in conjunction with one another. I take 1mg of Fin and 2.5 of Oral Minox. Dosages can be higher. You could hop on Biotin if you’re not already taking it.
